Morning All,
Sunny here and much warmer. Thanks Mel and AnnG, I have it now and it is different to the one I was using. Yes I had a camera last Christmas and I'd forgotten about it till I saw AnnG's temperature guage and thought it was one!! I must get it set up as I realise I might have seen what pulled all the wire scourer out that plugged the gap in the bricks and stopped the mice getting in the loft!!! Which reminds me we need to plug it up again as they start coming in when it gets chilly.
OH had a bad night last night and has woken with burning thighs and a pain in his head. Better get my paints ready now and see if I can sketch this not very special fairy we are painting. We may be starting with the drawing, but I know I will get left behind if we do, as it takes me ages to be happy with a drawing! BBL Oh oh sun's gone in!

Gwynn I had had those when we had the nursary but I hav'nt got one now and they are poisonous I think. There's not really a place to put one up the border which is where the deer go mostly. They don't seem to touch the penstemon or the dephiniums but do eat my phlox, day lillies aquilegia, roses the plums off the little old tree. They don't touch the lavender or the sage but so eat the japomica fruits which smell lovely and I like to have them in the kitchen if I can manage to get to them before the deer.
Talking of deer we hav'nt seen the two fawns again but have had a female in the orchard and the stag is often sitting in the garden or in the orchard.

Maybe I still have a link just for the old blog AnnG? It has a card with a boat on dated April 2018 when I open it, no list at the side. Oh I haven't seen garden temperature guages before. I thought it was some kind of nature camera.
Another name from my youth gone now then RIP Don Everley of the Everley Brothers.
I have a wardrobeful of varying sizes Gwyn. ;-) He must have had plenty more not to miss that many!

Mel, sorry no I don’t know the name of the Rose, I will look and see if there is a label but don’t hold your breath.
Annx it is a temperature gauge connected to a thing indoors but not sure it is working at the moment probably batteries needed
I don’t know why you have a problem with the blog. It should open with a list on the side giving previous titles so you can open any of them.
Has anyone else had problems accessing it? I know for me adding to it things changed a few months back with an update but I can still get on Ok.

AnnG How can anyone not realise that they have that many shirts missing.? They seem to be varying sizes, so no doubt a charity shop will receive at least some.
I forgot to say. When taking a heritage walk in a different local area, we noticed some garden plants that I didn't recognise. When I looked up one of them, it said that deer didn't like them. I thought of Mel. It was a Chilean Potato Tree or Vine.

Thank you Gwyn Fancy all those clothes hiding there all that time.bwill they still fit him?
Thanks Vera, it is very time consuming as I have to keep on top of it in the growing months. However it has been such a good help at giving me a reason to keep busy and taking me out of myself. It is difficult to be sad when battling against overgrown brambles and rambling rises.
I think the difference between tomatoes here and where you are is that in the last month or so , the ripening time, we have had. Quite a bit of sun on the days you have said it is dull and wet. I am sure your will ripen but just take longer.
Good that you managed a walk and ate your meal.
It sounds as if you have found the cause of OH’s sleepiness then, his medication.

Evening All,
We had rain in the night but it's been sunny most of the day and a bit clammy.
I hope the pain over your eye has gone now Vera and that the snoozes have made your OH feel a bit brighter. Pain and lack of sleep do drag you down.
OH made me chuckle earlier. He came to find me and said he'd been looking for something for tea. He said when he opened the fridge door he decided it had better be something involving cucumber! We have a full shelf of it now! :-)
We have some sorry looking bedraggled things in the garden Island and my nasturtiums in the ground were weedy things too. The ones in the tubs fared better, but have died back now and the sweet peas were pathetic. The French Marigolds have come into their own now, but still no flowers on the Cosmos I grew.
Your garden still has plenty of colour AnnG. I like the peachy petunia colour and have grown the the white splashed ones in previous years. The begonia is a nice bright red. What is the phone shaped thing on the fence post in pic no. 2....a camera? I do have trouble finding your site though and I seem to get an old site with 2018 photos as the latest. I then have to click on other names till I find one with 'photos' in the list and click on that.
Well, my friend Terry who played the 'Happy Birthday' on the piano for me that time has now got Covid while on holiday in Devon. His 17 year old daughter has it too, but not his wife yet. Such a shame his holiday is spoiled. He was really keen to do a youtube video at a very interesting pub I'd recommended to him that has 3 pianos, but I don't think that had happened yet.

Your garden is looking very pretty and colourful AnnG. You've done very well keeping it so nice on your own. It must take a time just watering everything but it's all looking very healthy.
You all seem to be doing better with your tomatoes than me. I keep picking 2 or 3 cherry tomatoes but we haven't had nearly as many as usual and they are not ripening up very quickly. The other normal sized tomatoes are still all green though they look a good size and healthy.
It's good you had a little break Island even if the weather wasn't up to much. At least you got to look at a different 4 walls.
I managed a short walk this morning between showers. I've also washed and dried a load of towels and cooked a full roast chicken dinner which we had just after 2 pm. I managed to eat mine today. OH dozed on and off most of the morning but he did offer to clear up after dinner and left the kitchen nice and tidy. Then he dozed again. I suppose if he is not sleeping at night he is bound to be dopey during the day and I've also just read the blurb that came with the tabs the doc put him on and one of the side effects mentioned was that they can make you feel dozy.
The weather is still very muggy. I hope it's a bit less heavy tomorrow as I have lots of things I want to do but I might need someone to put a stick of dynamite behind me to wake me up and get me moving.

Afternoon all.
Ann, I love all the colours of your petunias, - so pretty. Our nearest town is keen on floral displays and always has a good show of planters and railings-mounted containers. They always include petunias, which are much admired.
Well, I feel a visit coming on. Daughter who lives here has just found some clothing belonging to her brother, who hasn't lived in this house for ages....years and years. There were 3 T-shirts, 23 shirts, 3 uniform shirts and one from Toronto Fire Brigade ??? They are going up to son's house as soon as possible and then we will have a little more space. I had thought it was daughter's belongings in that cupboard, so haven't looked inside there for a long time.

I usually have the surfinias bu t this year I thought I would try a pack of double ones from the girl up the raod. Three are lovely colours together but the other three were all pink with a splash of white here and there. I did'nt see any Surfinias up the shop this year.

Mel, I grow Surfinia petunias mainly and they tend to trail not grow tall so O just dead head them don't pinch them out. What are yours in? pots, mine in pots traiil over the edge
Just spent 45 minutes out there cutting more stuff back. toms are still doing well which is good with daughter coming this week. Apples are, as usual for the past few years not doing well, lots of small ones and yes I have weeded some of them out, I think the tree is getting too old. I do know I didn't spray then when they were supposed to be sprayed in the spring so some are going bad on the tree and falling off..
At least you had a break Island but sorry it was bot good weather for you. My nasturtiums flowered ok but were not as vigorous as they could be.

You popped in ahead of me there Mel. No painting, it's too damp. I keep meaning to ask, what are short beans?
I've just realised..... our rampant nasturtiums didn't do anything this year apart from a few weedy leaves. They're trailers and usually make their way down the garden for about 8 feet.
