No just one of his side teeth on the bottom Anng it had been filled a couple of times and the filling came out each time and some of the tooth broke off so after bad tooth ache the dentist said we'll take it out, he had three numbing injections but still felt it .

Vera the stitches should dissolve ,he has a check up next week ,he's taking all the pain killers he can and using an ice pack on his jaw .

There's a photo of the scarecrow now on FB but I don't know how to take from there so you can all see it .

We have been sitting out under the gazebo it was nice as we had a nice breeze at times .

Vera thats good news there was nothing sinister in the bladder you must be relieved about that and its good he has more tablets to take with him on holiday ,I hope they can find out what it is /was .

Will need to water tonight ,I bought some Violas in tesco but haven't put them yet because of the heat .

I laughed at your OH’s attempt at hanging up his washing Mel and he’s right about the Tate. If Tracy Emin was shortlisted for the Turner Prize for her mucky bed and it was later sold for £2.5 million, an artwork called Mr Mel’s Laundry must be worth as much. Any bidders?

Your poor son Mandy. His mouth must be very sore. Will his stitches dissolve or has he got to have them taken out? I think most building materials are in short supply now. It will be a shame if Gill’s building work is delayed for longer as she has already been waiting for such a long time.

You are right Mel that it is roughly 2 hours to Lowestoft from here but that’s not where we are going. That was a day trip by coach last week. We are going to somewhere outside Skegness but it should still only be a drive of about 3 hours. OH seems to be fine driving and, though I don’t enjoy driving, I can take over if I need to. Apart from the pain in the groin and his slow walking he seems much better now. There have been one or two developments. A couple of days ago he had a letter from the Urology consultant confirming that there were one or two minor problems in his bladder but that nothing “sinister” had been seen. He will contact OH again when he has the results of the latest scan. This morning one of the docs from the practice rang to say that the blood tests for RA showed negative. That’s good news but still leaves us not knowing what caused the sudden onslaught of pain. As the tablets the first doc prescribed have helped a great deal OH has been given more to last through our holiday and a face to face appointment has been set up for when we get back.

It has been sweltering again today and it’s still 26 degrees. There is a bit of a breeze but that only seems to be moving the heat around. It could be another sticky uncomfortable night. Fingers crossed we all get some sleep.

Ooh Mandy your poor son that sounds painful, mess it an abcess or a wisdom tooth? Hope it heals soon and stops being painful and having less numbing must have been horrible. Last time I had an extraction I had to have an additional injection halfway through. I have quite a high pain threshold except with teeth when it is low.

It has clouded over now still hot and no rain yet.mfirecast thunder storms. Hope they are wrong.

Mandy I did tell him that but he said that'll do. He knew IO would'nt be able to stand it and pegged it up for him properly.

His grey clothing always turns out multi coloured anyway with the paint, grease and goodness knows what on it. At least with him wearing grey it dos'nt show the dirt so much.

Oh I meant to say on the news last night they were saying that bricks were in short supply, you have to order now to get them next year !!! I thought of Gill doing her new bathroom ,maybe that's why the builders are not getting back to her to do the work they know they can't get the supplies they need to do it .

Afternoon all,

Phew it's hot here to hot to be out so the fans on and were not doing to much ,did go to Tesco first thing while it was quiet.

Oh Mel :-D don't let him near your bedding when you hang it out ,you need to remind him it's bottoms hung by the top and top hung from the bottom :-D

Son had his tooth out this morning ,she told him it wasn't going to be pleasant as she couldn't numb him as much as usual and he usually has extra numbing injections because of his pain threshold., his gum is all stitched up and he said it's beginning to really ache now .

So you have to get your bargaining hat on now Ann to get a good deal on a new car for OH ,hope he gives you a cut of the savings you make :-D

My sunflowers are coming out, one of them is bright yellow but the other one is a lovely burnt orange colour, plenty of bees on them.

Morning Anng and All,

Miserable here this morning no sun at all and the ground looks wet but I think its only been mizzle as I hav'nt ventured out yet.

Anng I think its about a 2 hour trip from Vera's to Lowestoft so not too taxing. I hope they have a nice time away and it will give them a bit of different scenery.

Mole Valley should deliver today and we did have aphone call but oh did'nt get there quick enough. If it was'nt them whoever it was if it urgent they will ring again.

good morning all. sunny here so far rain forecast for later. It will be good to get the rain but sad to see the sun disappear. 21 degrees already no wonder it was so hot in bed.

Vera a deep clean is very uncomfortable (for me at least), It is also painful if it goes very deep under your teeth. I think those who don't find it painful don't have an actual 'deep' clean. I always have injections for mine ao need two more appointments yet. But the first one is not until 28th which gives me time to psyche myself up for it.
It sounds as though you had a lovely day yesterday and good that OH managed so well too. I do hope this means well for your holiday. Is it far to drive?

SuffolkVera Report 7 Sep 2021 20:51

I’m pleased your dental appointment went well AnnG. It’s always a relief when you know you don’t need any treatment. I had to look up what deep cleaning is as neither OH nor I have ever had it. It does sound a bit uncomfortable.

I expect your hair feels nice after a cut Ann. It’s good that your flu jabs are booked and that’s reminded me that I must check up with the surgery again. The last I heard was that they were waiting for the government announcement on Covid booster jabs in the hope that they could do both together but it looks as though we won’t be getting boosters for a while. If necessary I can get it done at the chemist where I collect my meds.

I’m glad the results of your blood tests were generally good Mel. Are they giving you anything for the low haemoglobin?

I hope Frank has had a good journey to Spain – it was today he was going wasn’t it?

Are your ribs any easier now Island? You have had a bit of a rough old time recently. I hope things are improving now.

So that OH could spread himself round the bed to get comfortable I slept in a spare room again last night. Gosh, it was hot. I had a fan going all night but was very restless. We’ve had a good day today. We went to Anglesey Abbey and OH managed very well. We got there about 11 am and left at 3 pm and during that time he had a break of about 30 mins while we had lunch and 3 spells of sitting down for 10 minutes, so basically he was walking around for about 3 hours in total. It was very gentle walking as he can’t stride out any more but it was good to see him going out and taking an interest in things again. On a bit of the woodland walk there were whole swathes of white and pale mauve cyclamens and in the formal garden, which was almost all dahlias of the smaller sort, there were 3 beds of beautiful cannas. I’d guess they were about 7 foot tall. There was also a rose garden and another long dahlia border with all the taller types. I think there were 85 varieties in that border.

The café there is quite big so there was enough space between the tables but there were also two areas set up outside. One was in the sun with wrought iron chairs and tables; the other was wooden tables and benches under a giant canopy. It was a bit like a large marquee without sides. This is where we sat as it was nice and shady. We had a jacket potato with cheese and a bit of salad and a mug of tea each. When we go to Anglesey I always go in their second hand bookshop and always come out with at least one book and usually more but I didn’t get anything today as I thought their prices had gone right up. I did buy a necklace in the gift shop for a friend’s birthday. She is difficult to buy for and I thought she might like this. It’s natural wooden beads of different shapes and sizes and looks very attractive. Of course it helped that the price had been reduced in a sale lol. We also bought some plants in the plant shop. We got 3 small, compact salvias called Salvia Bumbleberry. I have just the place for them where I took out two low growing grasses.

A ladies club I belong to has started up again tonight but I felt too exhausted to go and I was a bit wary about being in such a big crowd, so I rang the organizer and gave my apologies. I have just had a text from a friend who is there and she said the speaker didn’t turn up so I haven’t missed much.

Tomorrow I must do the ironing and a bit more washing so that we have plenty of clean clothes to take away with us in a few days. I need to have a think about what basic foods I need to take as we are self catering but I have told OH that we are eating our main meal out or having an easy to cook ready meal as I am not spending my holiday in the kitchen!

I hope it is a little cooler than yesterday and you all have a good night’s sleep. Sweet dreams everyone.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 7 Sep 2021 20:06

That sedum is a lovely colour and I may see if I can get one ofthose as thats something the deer don't touch. I have the ordinary pink ones which the bees love.

Oh has just said its thunder and lightening tomorrw and rain so I better bring my things down from the border.

Bet you feel nice now your hair is done Ann.

AnninGlos Report 7 Sep 2021 17:20

It was 30/degrees here earlier down to 29 now. No working in the garden too hot I found a seat on the lower patio in the shade and sat reading with a cuppa.. I was looking at the table with plants in and the deep red Sedum is beautiful and a good pollinator too the bees love it. Sedum red cauli is its name.

Afternoon All,

Very hot here now, 26 degrees in the study. Too hot for me but at least no hot flushes now and drips running down my back and forehead....so thankful for that!

Got my hair cut this morning, only me in there and same precautions as before with the door locked, masks worn, paper towels used etc. It was hot under the polythene cape though and it stuck to my arms. My new PIN worked fine too! :-)

We got texts today to make appointments for our flu jabs so that's sorted for the 25th now. :-)

Oh Well done your granddaughter Vera! A bit short notice but she must have impressed them. A quick scramble now then for her to get sorted with digs and whatever else she needs. I hope your OH managed to enjoy his walk without much pain.

Good results on the whole for your blood tests then Mel. Heamoglobin carries oxygen to your cells so being a bit low may make you more tired than usual. Hope your order is wiped and put away now. You are doing well with a present for OH. I haven't a clue what OH wants, but no doubt there will be books he wants!

You can't beat that spring in your step when you leave the dentist AnnG! :-D It's good you only need a deep clean, although that isn't particularly pleasant.

Morning Anng and all,

Beautiful morning again here with plenty of the yellow stuff and clear blue sky.

Slept ok but up twice in the night for the loo as I drank a lot yesterday evening. I like the Elderflower presse and I should'nt have drunk it before bed but there you are I do these silly things sometimes.

Looks like my order is coming earlkier today so I better get myself into gear and I also have to order our scripts so BBL.
