Mel Fairy Godmother Report 3 Jan 2026 09:22

Morning girls,

As we came home last nightjust as we got to Stibb Cross it started to hail. This morning my road is all white and the sky above the north wall is leaden but the suns out to the south.

Slept really well but its still hard to breathwhen I move about.

Its 2 degrees with a snow warning and pc says partly sunny.

Vera so sorry to hear you have had another nasty migraine since yesterday. I hope you can feel better during today.

Right coffee and sort out my pills.

Good morning

It’s a chilly -3 at the moment. Been in bed with a migraine since lunchtime yesterday and just got up so I don’t want to look at the screen for long. Just wanted to say I’m pleased that you’re home Mel. Be a good girl and take it easy till you are fully recovered.

I'd have enjoyed a mousse but you called it a mouse. How do you feel now and did they send you home with any meds?

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 2 Jan 2026 20:37

The mousse tasted like boiled sweets rather then fresh raspberry but it was cool to slip down and not as hairy as a mouse.

Annx Report 2 Jan 2026 20:09

Didn't see you there Mel. It's good you are home again in familiar surroundings, but make sure you don't overdo it till you are fully better. I don't think I would have enjoyed the mouse even if it was a raspberry flavour one! :-D

There's a full moon here too AnnG, but it has whispy clouds going across. I seem to remember Inara has always been full of beans so is Senua the same? It's when they start shrieking that gets a bit much for me!

Mandy OH swears blind we won't be getting any snow where we are, but I'm not so sure and think we are due some by Tuesday. I fetched my magazine today and had to fetch the girl from the counter to reach one for me again as they are so high up on a top shelf now. OH said he'll be wearing double thermals under all his layers tomorrow when he goes to a match with his pal. He's sorting a few books to swap with him in the morning before he goes.

Sad this morning to see a van collecting a bed etc from the bungalow where the man only had days to live. We thought something had happened with him a few days ago or that he might be in hospital or Loros as there were no cars there all day some days. The daughter had been staying since Christmas.

:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D I'M HOME HOORAY :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
Wishing you all a Happy New Year and hope you've had a healthier one than I have.

I have been so bored its untrue. After spending twenty four hours in the hospital porch on a very cold night they took us into the hallway just off A and E. There were four of us out there all night and in the morning they said they would bring us some breakfast which never appeared, all that was brought was a drink and a pack of three biscuits. One lady waiting with me had her daughter there and she went back to her brothers house down the road and brought us back bread and butter which wa greatly accepted by all. Diana had had some drip on but I did'nt get anything. I was supposed to go straight into a room on my own but that did'nt happentill the next day.

Its all a bit of a blurr now and I have no idea what day it is but know its Friday by the pc.

Anyway put me in the cell with a loo and a telly which they informed me did'nt work but I could get the radio on it, but no internet. I had no passwords with me and could'nt remember any of them anyway as we have tohave so many now for different sites. Had my first meal from the hosp. in the porchy bit when there was just two of us left sitting out there and I went for the quiche with chips. Bad Mistake. it was awful, minced cheese oniuon and egg about an inch thick on grey soggy pastry and hard cold chips. I was so hungry by this time I ate the inside and a few chips. Note to myself don't ever have the quiche again.

Next days menu I stuck with sandwiches a sweet and a banana. The sweet was a jelly and it was very refreshing. The chap I was left with had chicken curry rice and chips and that looked ok so next time I went for that with salad and that was really lovely with a raspberry mouse to follow. Breakfasts were cereral, toast jam or marmalade. some other things too like yoghurt which I don't eat and fruit apple orange or banana. Today I went for the pork and apple casserole with mash, carrots amd mushy peas. with pineaple in juice for sweet.

BIL brought me up my ipad and I could see my emails in that but could'nt use it cos it was too far from the hub even though BIL put the hosp. wi fi on it. In the end I played with my phone.

Not easy on a small screen but at least it was someone talking to me.

They checked me umteen times a day for oxygen levels, blood pressure and temp and I had to wear the oxygen all night and it made my nose bleed.

Anyway I am now home in my own little house with all my things around me and a comfey bed and loo.

Thats another thing Went for a nice wash in the bathroom there and when I looked in the mirror all I could see was my forhead and the loo was for a wheelchair too so I don't know how a person in a chair was even supposed to see their forhead!!!!!!

Enough of me hope you all had a lovely Christmas and once again a happy new year. Blessing to you all. XXXXX

Oh dear Anng ,lovely to see the little ones but when they are hyper there's always a big sigh of relief when they go home and it's quiet again :-D

I looked out and saw the bright moon last night but I haven't looked tonight .

Who's going to get the snow ? I think we might be sandwiched between the snow showers ,well here's hoping I really don't like it ,nice to look out and see a covering but not nice to have to walk out in it .

There is a beautiful full moon here.
We had Inara and Senua for a couple of hours. They were really hyper, no wonder Mum wanted 2 hours without them

Good afternoon All. It was sunny but windy and cold first thing, then the wind dropped but now it is cloudy and the wind has come up again. We have made yet another trip to a supermarket, Morrisons this time to top up the food cupboard As food has gone up this year, I dread to think what the cost of my stay will come to. I always pay a third of the bills and this time that includes feeding the young family.

This afternoon we have the teogfeat granddaughters for a couple of hours.

My goodness Annx, those fireworks let off by idiots sound quite frightening. I believe the rules about buying and letting off fireworks have just changed but there are always a few who manage to get round the rules. All I heard round here was a few subdued bangs around midnight so I was happy with that. I went to bed just before 11 pm and read for an hour, then I watched the London fireworks before switching off the light and going to sleep.

It's been quite bright today but bitterly cold with an icy wind. The computer is telling me that currently it is 4 degrees here but feels like -8!! I think that might be exaggerated but it certainly feels below zero. There was the most beautiful red sky here a little while ago and I wished I had a camera handy. It would have made a lovely photo.

I haven't been able to get motivated to do anything much today. I slobbed around in my dressing gown till turned 11 am when I managed to rouse myself enough to shower and wash my hair but all I seem to have done since lunch is set up a Sainsbury delivery for Saturday. I hope I can get myself moving tomorrow as my to-do list is getting longer and longer. I keep crossing off 2 things and adding 4. After I filled my jam pots yesterday there was just a spoonful or two of jam left over so I put it in a small bowl and tried some on a bit of bread earlier. It's fine. It spreads well and now it's cold it doesn't seem quite so sweet.

I hope Mel is beginning to feel a bit better.

Stay warm and sleep well tonight. "See" you tomorrow.

Happy New Year to you Gwyn and Mel and to Will and Elizabeth. <3 <3 <3 <3

A lot of the fireworks here went off early then it went quiet for ages till a few were set off that frightened us to death. They were like military bombs going off and shook the bungalow rattling a mirror. They weren't for celebration, they were just idiots wanting to frighten people. A few years ago the same thing happened in the village and it was found they'd been setting of fireworks only intended for major events. The poor animals and wildlife! At midnight they only lasted about half an hour.

Lamb for lunch so I'd better check on it and put something out for the birds. We are watching a recorded Agatha Christie later.
