I do know about the toothpaste and I have bongela but htis morning I have been rinsing with Codysil and thats worked a treat.

Very high gale force wind here and plenty of hail and rain just as I was going to corn the chickens so thye've not been done yet. My little lonely bantam natters to me in the morning when I go to feed her. The big girls laid me another egg today too so that was good. cThey must have known I bought some eggs this week and are now in competition.

Back from Bourton on the Water. We had a really good day, dry driving there and some nice sun so the scenery was lovely. started to rain a bit when we got there so we went to the cemetery first for friend to do what she wanted to do. she was not long and by then the rain had stopped so we drove to the main car park. Nowhere near as busy as it would be in the high season so we wondered over to the little river and took some photos of the bridges (our project for January. Next we went for coffee, lots of choice but we found a nice one with well spaced tables and staff wearing masks. After coffee we had a good shop around and bought lots of little things for presents for Christmas, some things you don't see elsewhere and all reasonably priced, I was expecting things to be much dearer as it is a tourist area. We then had lunch followed by another few shops including a Christmas shop. And then we drove home. We had brilliant sun and stormy rain so a real mixture but we never actually got wet.

Fireman Andy cried off his appointment yesterday and is now coming Tuesday, he was called to an urgent meeting.

Oh dear Vera, I hope your (or rather your OH's) day improved.

Mel that tip with toothpaste for sensitive teeth is a good one (and bonjella.

Oh no Mel! Your weather usually travels up to us next, so it will be our turn soon. Still dry here and dull.

I'm finding it hard to get motivated this afternoon, but must get started. OH is doing notes so keeping out of the way. :-)

Now we have sun out the back rain in the front with hail in it and high winds.

Annx Report 26 Nov 2021 11:32

Morning All,

Dull and rainy here earlier, now it's just more dull. Have you any of the toothpaste for sensitive teeth Mel? If so, put a pea sized bit on the tip of your finger and rub it on the base of the tooth and gum. Don't rinse it off. My dentist told me to do that when the gum has receded and it works. I use the sensitive toothpaste anyway, and which is usually enough, but sometimes that little extra massaged in is needed. Otherwise do you have any Bonjela you could use. It's a shame the shop isn't wanting your wreaths just now. I'm sure people will miss having them. I look forward to receiving your recipe. :-)

AnnG we have the same trouble just after we have exited the close to the left. You really have to be careful you don't run into the car in front of you that is queuing to the island. Mind you our neighbour's new security light 14 feet from us and facing us as we try to go down the step from our conservatory at night is just as bad. Is your alarm all fixed in place now?

Vera, they are all the same blaming us for their own shortcomings! I never put jar lids on tight and always lift the actual jar itself. Not OH though, he lifted one by the lid and smashed it on the floor and of course it was my fault. No chance of it happening when he puts the lids on so tight I can't undo them though and isn't here to undo them for me! :-(

We are having F&C delivered today as a treat. I couldn't believe how the prices are shooting up though. Apparently bread and pasta will be going up in price next according to what I read this morning. It's the price of wheat and gas going up causing it as well as other things.

I think I need to make a start on sketching out my 2 pictures this afternoon now I have at last decided which I'm doing.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 26 Nov 2021 10:00

Morning all,

Rained in the night and is still raining on and off this morning but we have had a little spell of sunshine now and then.

Still not been up the church for my flower stand and must do it today. I just don't seem to be able to get into the Christmas spirit this year. Maybe because I don't do the wreaths for the shop anymore but I do do the church advent ring and three others for friends so I suppose I should find out if they want them this year.

Tooths no better this morning I think the gum has receded and thats why its giving me so much pain.

SuffolkVera

SuffolkVera Report 26 Nov 2021 09:18

Good morning AnnG and all

It’s cold, very grey, very wet and a bit windy. The day started badly with OH accidentally throwing a large Tupperware carton full of muesli all over the floor. Apparently it was my fault as I must have put the lid on wrongly. Of course, it had nothing to do with the fact that he was fumbling about in the dark rather than put the light on!

I had a busy day yesterday and today looks as though it will be the same so I’m going to get on now with all the things I want to do today. I hope you all have a good day. Might bbl.

At least I don't have to contend with driving into the sun now, but walking was dangerous too.

Many years ago, in the 60s, our next door neighbour was a an driver for a TV firental firm. A careful driver, not a tear away. He knocked down a cyclist who sadly died when driving up our road into the sudden sun. It was so sad and frightening for him. He was not prosecuted because of the circumstances.

Ann I will send it to you tomorrow.

Have got soemthing up my gum on one of my teeth and its very sore so oh gave me a Christmas present tonight which is a bottle of Jamesons whiskey which ususally does the trick as I only had a trickle in the bottom of last years one.

See you all in the morning night night.

Annx Report 25 Nov 2021 14:18

Morning, sorry Afternoon All,

Belated 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY' Gill. I was busy yesterday and didn't come on here. It's lovely to hear from you, even if progress is slow with those unreliable workmen. I do hope you get your new back door fitted to keep out the draughts this winter. What a let down about your loft too. It isn't as if it was a hard job either. Never mind, just keep trying and do what you can in the meantime. It will all get done eventually and you have made great strides with the garden. My first OH estimated 2 years to do my old house and I said about 5 years. Guess who was right! We were both working full time though and did pretty much everything ourselves apart from the central heating. We made our windows, built the garage and garage doors and all the built in kitchen and bathroom units, plus wardrobes. You couldn't buy the self assemble units in the 70s. You can't help these delays and until one job is done you can't get workmen in to do the next job.

That's good you have some tablets now AnnG. I hate driving when the sun blinds you like that. When OH was working in Luton, the daily trip meant he was blinded by the sun all the way there on days it was shining. Our surgery never asks to see us when a prescription review is due, They just seem to extend the date. I suppose it must depend what medication you are on. I remember being called for BP checks when I was on HRT. It will be good to get your vibrating alarm put in. Our smoke alarm is so loud when it goes off there's no chance of not hearing it as it is just outside the bedrooms.

OH has another meeting on zoom tonight, due to some going down with covid and spreading it to others. People are so silly though. The meetings he goes to even have outside doors as well as windows open and tables spaced well apart, but he has noticed some female attendees drag their chairs to sit next to each other! :-S

A recent study now says that the 2 metre distance, even outside, is useless without wearing masks.

When we went to the factory shop yesterday all the joggers in OH's size had been sold, so he'll have to hope they get more in soon. I got some new slippers for £12 and some fat balls and seed for the birds.

OH's trip to the hygeinist was useful as she told him of a private practice that are the top in the city and would be able to advise him whether a dentist could do his tooth expraction.

I now have 2 paintings to do before next week's last Landscape session, one is to use our own photo of a snowy scene, so I need to have a look at what I have. The other teacher wants us to use 3 different citrus fruits on Monday and I only have oranges, so may have to print off some pictures to use instead if we don't visit the farm shop in the meantime.

OH has decided he wants a new watch for christmas, one with 'hands' instead of digital like his other this time. He's also decided he really needs a new laptop now and has decided he wants one like mine, which of course they have stopped making now!! Another job for me to find an equivalent one for him. :-S

I would like your cake recipe please Mel. :-D I have done the Delia one in the past and although I'm not keen on too much, OH loves it, usually after Christmas when he's eaten most other things! :-)

This virus is going to be never ending....hopefully a vaccine can be developed.

British experts have sounded the alarm over a new Covid variant believed to have emerged in Botswana that is the most mutated version of the virus yet.

Only 10 cases of the strain, which could be named 'Nu', have been detected so far.

But it has already been spotted in three countries, suggesting the variant is likely more widespread.

It carries 32 mutations, many of which suggest it is highly transmissible and vaccine-resistant, and has more alterations to its spike protein than any other variant. :-(

Fed the chickens, wid birds and mixed up the cake with the rest of the ingrediance and its in the oven.

Its a very easy recipe and very moist and tasty so if anyone wants the recipe let me know. I have never shared it with anyone before.

Back now. got a prescription for two months supply but they have not re-started the Pathway so it looks as though I have to try and make an appointment for a prescription review.

It is lovely out but still only one degree so very cold. However the sun is shining brightly, which although lovely to see is not lovely if you are walking ino it as it is so low it dazzles. I was afraid of tripping as I could not actually see where I was going. so am pleased to be back home.
