Good morning all, quite a nice looking morning and 6 degrees. I have my friend bringing her DIY man round later to see what can be done about the loft door. I already have a load of washing in and showered and hair washed so ahead of myself

Ann I hope your OH is not too stiff and sore this morning not good to fall on his back. Perhaps that will make him sort out something for the patio. BBL

Annx Report 13 Feb 2022 20:30

OH's day got worse Vera! I told him off for going to the garage in his slippers and paddling mess into the conservatory, so next trip he put his clogs on and slipped and fell on the patio and hurt his back and skinned his knee!!!! I shall be glad when we decide what to do about the patio as the smooth indian stone seems lethal in the wet and frost. Your OH sounds just like mine when you press him about something he sounds adamant about! lol.

Well a trifle treat I ordered for Valentines Day was missing in the delivery, so I got a refund on that and on the cucumber we didn't want. When OH pointed out our bags for the driver to use she laughed and said 'that's a new one on me' and proceeded to just dump their trays down on the ground. The cheeky so and so, as it's in the instructions on the order to use them as well and the other drivers do it so I shall complain when they ask for feedback. Mel these subs are ok to a point but we got a huge bag of mixed salad leaves we will never manage to eat before they go off and they take up so much shelf room in the fridge. I only order the small packs I know we will manage to eat and will fit in the fridge with everything else. We like the Bird's Eye Petit Pois too. It sounds like your project will be a building of some sort?

Mandy, the friend is home from hospital now and she loves the fingerless gloves! She loves owls anyway and says she has been wearing them already in the evenings to snuggle down and be cosy wihile watching tv. She has her partner's funeral on Wednesday, but I wonder if she will be up to it really as she is very tired and needing help to wash and dress at the moment.

Ann when you said you had two cues it made me think I ordered peti pois pease bird eye the other week and they sent me two packs of asda ones they should last us about two years I should think nd if I don't like them the chickens will get them over a period of time.

I wonder if I will get another of those strange little eggs tomorrow? I'll let you know.

Right Iv'e had a coffee and now I am going back to my window frame.

I am doing craft and trying to help Anng with the jigsaw too! I am making a window frame at the mo.

SuffolkVera Report 13 Feb 2022 16:18

My computer doesn’t seem to show the weather any more. I wonder if that’s something that went when we upgraded to Windows 11. I’ve got the BBC weather app on my iPad and that’s telling me it’s 8 degrees but feels like 5 and that it’s raining and breezy. Looking out of the window is just as good lol.

That jigsaw looks a bit of a beast AnnG but plod on with it a bit at a time. Think what a sense of achievement you’ll have when you finish it.

I hope your OH’s bad head and back are easing now Ann. He has my sympathy. Has your delivery arrived yet? I must get my next slot booked. I think I’ve said that I have a fortnightly delivery and alternate Sainsbury and Tesco. It’s Tesco next time and they get booked up more quickly than the other supermarkets so I need to grab my slot. That’s my next job then.

I had to laugh at that diddy little egg Mel. The chuck probably didn’t even notice that one being laid. Getting dinner cooked for you tomorrow will be good. I hope you enjoy it. My OH isn’t a bad cook but he also seems to use twice as many pans and dishes as necessary and the kitchen practically needs spring cleaning when he has finished.

I think I told you I had to ask OH where he had put all the pot saucers. He said they were at the back of my mini greenhouse. No, they’re not. When he sorted out the garage he took a lot of stuff to the tip, including a load of flower pots. I reckon he dumped the pot saucers as well. At first he was adamant that he hadn’t dumped them, then he was fairly sure he hadn’t, now we’ve got to “I can’t remember taking them to the tip”. What would you do with him?

We’ve had our Sunday roast (chicken today) so, apart from booking a Tesco slot, I am doing nothing for the rest of the day.

Afternoon All,

It's been pouring with rain here and 7 degrees. If you click on the umbrella it will show you the temperature at the top on the right. OH had a migraine last night and has a headache today. He also twisted his back putting my suitcase in the loft so isn't a happy bunny. Not a good day to be getting the food delivery. Six subs as well and all looked to be in stock last night and this morning. Four alternatives with the Avocado so why send an extra cue instead, having already ordered one? No chocolate eclairs so why no sub sent?

It's a 16 year old flat tv Mandy, so not desireable and fiddly to take as it's screwed to the wall, so I might have thought a burglar couldn't grab it quickly and would be put off by it's age as well. It isn't hidden there though now I've looked! I bet Max will be fast asleep the rest of the day now he's worn out.

AnnG, the jigsaw looks quite easy with the dog, but it does look tricky when you see it closely. I found myself trying to fit the loose pieces with no success! You do need good light as you say.

How nice of your OH to cook you a lovely roast dinner for your birthday Mel! :-D You will be able to put your feet up and enjoy your pressies! :-D A box of those big eggs would have to be labelled 'enormous'.

All ready for the food now and I've wiped the fridge out ready as well. It has almost stopped raining, but we'll put the bags out nearer the time.

I had another £75 from ERNIE this month so might treat myself to some paints or brushes this time.

I was looking at the new floor mop by Karcher this morning. It is cordless and has microfibre rollers that spin that you can slip out and wash in the machine.

My T shirt from Terry has arrived, plus plus 2 photos of him and his 17 year old daughter Elsie and 2 pens! He is in Wales for half term and hoping to find some churches with pianos or pipe organs that are open so he can do some videos.

Well I think you have done well to get as far as you have with the jigsaw Anng.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 13 Feb 2022 12:38

He is a good cook Mandy as he used to cook the dinners for all the firefighter at the station when the cook was away. The thing is he will keep asking me where things are and get out all sorts of pots and pans and have a mountain of washing up.

AnninGlos Report 13 Feb 2022 12:27

You will enjoy the meal all the more for not having cooked it Mel.

Mandy, no not tempret, I must admit it is even more difficult today. With it not having stopped raining since early and being very dark there is no natural light getting into the dining room and as the jigsaw pieces are quite glossy it is really hard to tall the different shades of wood. No Not tempted to give up Mandy. Somebody must have been able to do it so no reason why I can't. I am stubborn as well. If it becomes useless I will maybe give up then but I will keep going at the moment.

I will send a photo of the puzzle so far.

Anng it sounds as if that 1000 piece jigsaw is going to take forever to do aren't you tempted to give up and try the 500 piece one.

Max is laying at my feet he's worn out lol the children run him round when they come .

Morning Anng and all,

Just about the same weather here today, wet windy dull and dreary and pc also says raining now as if I did'nt know!! No temp on mine either but the weather station says 8 degrees.

Oh says he is cooking dinner tomorrow for my birthday he has bought a huge piece of beef so I am expecting a full roast dinner which is something we don't often have, well the beef anyway.

Hoping I can get some craft done today. I did have a little fiddle yesterday but undid some of the work I had done as I knocked something off I had stuck on so had to glue it again.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 13 Feb 2022 08:08

Good morning. Damp, dull and windy here this morning No temp on PC just says rain to stop.
Just Tesco planned for today then I must attack the jigsaw. Spent ages yesterday pulling out all the wood coloured pieces. given up on the sky bit for now. Sent daughter a photo of what I had done and she pointed out a mis placed piece. It was easier for her to see then me. :-D

didn't sleep too badly and now have bedding in the wash so an early start.

AnninGlos Report 12 Feb 2022 20:46

Gwyn yes I am sure things will get easier as time goes on. Talking to daughter (be email) just now. She said after the first anniversary of Jon’s ( her husbands ) funeral she mentally thought she would not try and remember that date as it was not necessary. And I suppose she is right. I didn’t find today as hard as the anniversary of his death. Maybe now it can become just another day Time to try and look and move forward.

MillymollyAmanda Report 12 Feb 2022 19:53

The tele would be one of the things they would take I would have thought .
I think I would put up in a cushion or in the hem of a curtain . :-) it must be in something that a burglar wouldn't want to take .

Annx Report 12 Feb 2022 19:41

I haven't quite given up on the stick Mandy, but it's not looking hopeful after all this time. We did get the bedroom drawers out to look underneath but I don't think I was likely to put it there after OH said burglars just pull drawers out and tip the contents out. You mentioning sellotape has given me an idea that I might have taped it to the back of the tv on the wall though. I'll get a mirror and have a look tomorrow. Yes, I did check the pockets in the clothes. Maybe I put it somewhere else in the bungalow after all so it might turn up yet as I work my way around.

No Vera I have another one that is the same too! He prides himself on being able to tidy an area like the garage quickly and I admit he does........but, in our garage he has put heavy things on top of lidded plastic boxes and bent them and he has no idea about keeping things you often need handy. He even asks me where he has put things, so it's no good me asking him where things are is it? :-S He messed around with kitchen cupboard with tins in once, putting the oldest dated things in a row across the front, instead of keeping them at one end. You couldn't see anything that was behind. lol.

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 12 Feb 2022 18:36

Ann you really are having a good clear out ,I suppose you've given up on finding your stick thingy after all this time , you would have thought it would have turned up with all this clearing out ,did you check all the pockets on the clothes you turned out .
Look under these draws your clearing out you might have sellotaped it under one of them .

I like the skating to Ann and the bobsleigh, there's been a lot of curling on too.

Mel if that was a teaspoon the egg was tiny .

Vera I can never find anything when Colin has tidied up ,we have two freezers in the shed both chest freezers ,the big one we use all the time the smaller one we usually keep for Christmas bits and then turn it off for the summer but last year we kept it on as we stocked it up because of covid .

Thinking of you AnnG on this day of memories <3
We never forget the significant dates, but I found that once the 1st anniversary of each one was passed, it did get a little easier to just quietly remember without the same depth of sadness.

Vera, I had to smile about your OH putting things away in different places.
Generally my husband was very helpful and would help out if asked, although he never actually noticed for himself what needed doing.
He was fantastic at ironing ( being ex-Service ) and would often iron several sets of uniform at a weekend so that it was ready for each of the 3 children to wear to school the following week.
One day he decided to reorganise the kitchen cupboards and with male logic he put everything back, like with like. That sounds OK, but the used-once-in-a-blue-moon Pyrex took centre stage with the ones that were used several times a week. and it was then difficult to reach other frequent use items pushed to the back of a fairly deep cupboard :-|
I thanked him for cleaning the shelves and said I would call into his place of work and reorganise his office the following week.
He took the hint.
Bless him, he was a fantastic Dad and I do miss him <3

I hope it was a stiff one Vera.

I hav'nt done much today either. I did go and look at my project and had a tiny fiddle but then I had to do the chickens and came in and made a COC and a scone each.
