Ann its still a bit too dark on our big telly. Sometimes I turn the big lights out and have just a lamp on behind me but it is still too dark in some things so its not your eyes unless its mine too. I am having a bit of trouble with my left eye and can't see things close up when I am painting something little.

I have done a little bit of craft this morning. Washed up as oh is fitting a new pump to my pond, and cleaned the toilet cystern out in my little loo. When we had the water leak it was putting muddy water in the tank and it keep coming down into the cisterns so thats why I have to do it.

Had a broken egg again this morning and one whole one. Emm did'nt get any eggs this week as we seem to have been using a lot lately.

I keep forgetting the great big tiny challenge on a Sunday but I shall watch it later in the week when nothing else is on to watch and that happens a lot lately.

No Ann the pain is across the back/towards my shoulder, it is easier today, maybe it was something I did in the garden and it stiffened up. It is over four weeks since I had the jab now so no aches from that. Judging by others who have had covid without having had the booster, I can't see that I was any better off for having had it. Still I suppose I won't know how I would have been without it. Still very easily tired. I did hald an hour weeding of the front garden and came in shattered.

Yes I can see how a large group would be intimidating, best to stay away.

Afternoon All,

I bit brighter this morning and 14 degrees here now. Lunch was some nice pork chops from the farm shop with onions, homemade apple sauce, broc, cauli, beans and carrots. Yum!

How lovely the cygnets have started hatching Gwyn! I bet they do bring a smile to the faces of passers by too. You will have to keep us updated.

Is the shoulder pain from the jab AnnG? It is a nuisance if it is still waking you in the night. The extra pillow should help, but we move around in our sleep and not always to the best position for an ache! I hope your daughter and SIL enjoy their river trip. They were lucky to get covid out of the way first like Gwyn says. We have looked at some of the euriope river cruises in the past but never got round to trying one. Now you have a trip to see the poppies in July to look forward to

OH has put some bean poles up in the big tub, but the ground is still so hard, even after the sprinkle of rain yesterday, so he couldn't put another wigwam up next to it on the garden.

I wonder where your runners have got to Mel? I've just about got into Gentleman Jack again. We watched it together last night , but I did say I would watch it elsewhere if there were interruptions, so he didn't! The filming does seem very dark for it unless it's my eyes, but it was better on the bigger tv.

OH isn't going to a match today as they will have more fans watching and I'm not doing a walk today. I did do 1 lap of the usual walk after teatime yesterday, but there was a noisy group of hoodies at one of the picnic tables with plenty of cans and hardly anyone else there and others were joining them so I felt a bit intimidated.

Now to get my paintbrushes wet and get started!

Gwyn yes it was lucky, too close for comfort. Daughter has done both river trips before on the Rhine and the Danube but son in law has never done it (neither have I, another wish lost!). Seems like their flight left on time too, they were a bit concerned because there was a last minute change of airline from Jet2 to Ryanair. They were informed last week.

AnnG, .. That's good that you have now tested negative.
It will give you the freedom to go out and about as you wish or to share coffee time with friends.
I hope your daughter and her husband enjoy their holiday... a lovely time of year for that trip.
How lucky that the timing of their illness and recovery still made that possible.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 2 May 2022 10:53

No Mel her husband is with her.

I tested negative this morning so I am a free person now.
It says it is 12 degrees out there but it doesn't look like gardening weather, quite dull.

I am going to my son's for a week in July and am excited because he has booked for him, my daughter in law and me to go by train to London to see the flowers in the moat of the tower.

O how lovely that three have hatched Gwyn can you get a pic for us to see?

I have a larder fridge and I have just had it out from under the work surface, well oh pulled it out on the sack barrow thing for the shopping and I clean it all out inside and out so its all nice and clean now. Its given me backache though so now I am having a sit down and shall watch Gentleman Jack later when oh is in bed without any interuptions or commets about they did'nt do it like that etc.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 1 May 2022 20:03

I think Covid restrictions lockdowns etc have affected our sleep pattern Gwyn. But I know what you mean over thinking problems during waking hours in the night why do problems always seem worse at night?

I bet it is so lovely to see the cygnets.

Gwyn in Kent

Gwyn in Kent Report 1 May 2022 18:49

Afternoon everyone.....just literally a few drops of rain in the air, but I could count the spots landing on my coat..........Milder without the cold easterly wind of late.

Some days I seem to have no get-up-and-go and everything seems an effort.
Where I live though, I am fortunate that there are pleasant places to walk without having to go too far, so I can take myself off and more often than not, I see something which gives me a 'lift' and brightens the day.
I have just come back from a walk to see the local swans.
3 little cygnets have now hatched and some other walkers and I waited patiently hoping the mother would reshuffle so we could see if there were any more. I think there are 3 eggs still in the nest and one looked as if it had a weakened area of shell, so maybe there will be more in the next day or so.
Seeing them cheers everyone who walks nearby, - from young teens to aged pensioners, they all love to see their progress.

I hope everyone has a restful night. My sleep pattern is very erratic, but I have decided to not let it bother me.
I don't drive, so don't have to worry about the safety aspect and I'm not in pain, so if I miss an hour or so in the night, I try not to dwell on it and just go with the flow and hopefully catch up the next day.
The trouble is in the small hours, if I start thinking about something, my mind goes into over-drive and I stay awake thinking everything through having had enough sleep to keep me going..... but not to see me through the next day.

Gardening tomorrow, weather permitting.

Full to the gunnels now. I don't think we will want anything else today.

Funny how it goes Anng you feel like doing something but don't really want to. I get like that sometimes. Just have a restful rest of the day and I hope the pain goes after tonights sleep. <3

AnninGlos Report 1 May 2022 15:48

Funny enough Ann I think I felt brighter yesterday. today I have got an ache across my shoulder, I think it may be trying to sleep on three pillows. May have to see if I can do without the extra one tonight.
Mel I just made one card, a very basic one but I couldn't really get into it. the spirit was willing the flesh not so.

Vera nice to have a hcat with your friends and lucky it was warm enough in the garden.

I order ours online and they are supposed to deliver them to Shebbear Shop in three days. When I ordered them they shoulod have been there on Tues so I thought I would leave it to Saturday as thats when I go to the shop but they still were'nt there and now I have to wait till Tuesday to collect them and oh has run out of some.

Morning/ oops! Afternoon All,

Slept well again and we have had the nice steady rain too but it's stopped again now. Pity I had a pile of washing to go out though! :-( It's 10 degrees here now. I tried digging holes for plants with my trowel yesterday but gave up as, like Mel says, the soil was so hard. Ours isn't clay soil and is usually easy to work, but it had been so dry for ages it was hard, so the rain will do it good. It will make weeding easier too.

Mandy what a lovely little bag and ideal for holding a ball of wool while you knit or crochet as you say, as it fits nicely over the arm with no room for the wool to jump out. It's a pretty material too. I keep meaning to make a needle case out of my fat quarters or felt squares, so I must look them out. So you got the poles sorted and your little greenhouse secured. I expect the conservatory has been emptied of the plants to go inside it now. My greenhouse has a nasty draught from a pane that slipped at the back of it. We used to have 2 butts at the back in the middle, but because the pipes to the gutters kept dislodging OH decided to move them apart so the pipes between them and the gutters would be shorter. That was fine except the butts block the space between the greenhouse and fence so there's no room to squeeze by them to put the pane back in place now. Once we've used the water in one we will have to move it to sort the pane out.

I bet you feel brighter with a better night's sleep AnnG. Maybe the cough is going at last. Good idea to do some cards today. I must get my paints out as the days seem to be flying by and I haven't started yet. That was good that you had no subs.

I can just imagine the cats while you tried to knit Vera......too tempting for them! You had a nice little walk too then and a COT and natter in the garden with your friend. I love lemon cheesecake and must remember to try cutting it up when it is frozen, not that it lasts very long anyway.

We ordered lunch today and had something different for a change. It was nice although it sounds an odd mixture. Two chicken breasts (small) with melted mozzarella in a tomato sauce, corn on the cob, breadcrumbed mushrooms, a jacket potato, coleslaw and small salad.

I was just reading the notes on my prescription and the only way to get our prescriptions now is to call in or order online. They won't accept requests by pharmacies on behalf of patients, in addition to the usual no phone requests.

I need to ring the hospital before I do this urine test as the bottle is dry and empty. The last one had a few spoonfuls of an acid preservative and I think the nurse has forgotten to add it. It mentions acid on the label so I'm sure it should contain some as the doctor said it is the same test as before. It will mean me going back I expect and OH driving round to park somewhere while he waits for me again as the hospital charges are so much. If I hadn't already done one test I wouldn't have known anything was missing and had to do it all over again.

Well I have got ready cook beef ribs which I have had before and are quite tasty together with roast potatoes and carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, leeks and sprouts and asparagus. The sprouts were supposed to be bay sprouts but I wonder what the full size sprouts are like - small cabbages I reckon. :-D

O I meant to say oh came out with headphones and said who do you think this is singing Endless Love. I listened for a bit as I like that song. It was the ukrainian prime minister and his wife on youtube.
