Been really busy today. Fed the chcijkens and banty and hoovered the kitchen and diner and did a bit of dusting through. Then the shopping arrived and I did half of it and got lunch then I did the other half of the shop and wahed up the lunch things and then made a drink for the afternoon and now I am going to make a steak pie for dinner.

Not touched my craft at all today!!

Mandy I will email you again on your email to see if it gets through.

Hello all

Just a very quick post as I'm very busy but hope to be back later.

Mandy, your bits and pieces look so fresh and lovely and I would think they would sell well at a craft fair.

AnnG, I haven't received any swan pictures either :-(

Morning all ,

Lovely morning here after all the rain yesterday and much warmer too.

Anng I didn't have any swan photos through and Mel I haven't had your email reply either so I don't know why that is .

Picked a nice lot of radishes this morning and potted up the four little toms that I'm trying from the seeds I took from a tomato that was nice .

I'm glad you liked the things I've been making not sure what I'll be doing with them yet I do know the school is having a summer fair so might make a few for them I'll see .

Ann I haven't had a WW for a week or two so I'll have a look out for one this week to see what the cat is like .

Morning All,

cloudy and theres rain in the air this morning. still it shopping day so I won't be outside much this morning.

Slept well last night and feel better for it today. Arm seems better but I will have tosee how it gets on during the day.

The swan pics were lovely Anng and so many of them all in one place. Thanks to Ann for sending them on to me.

Did'nt wake too early today so I must get in the shower and get on as nto sure what time the shopping is coming today and I don't want to be in my jim jams when it arrives.

I remember mum teaching me to knit and it was yellow wool and plain stitch and I can see it in my minds eye now. Never forget that.

Mandy those things you made are so lovely as I said in my reply email. Good patterns and they look so fresh and clean. Are you making things to sell at a craft fair?

Good morning all no blue skies here today but cloud cover and dry so far. This is quite a cold place so we have had to put the heating on.

The plan is to visit another garden, another one not NT. unfortunately. This is one I have not been to before.

Ann hope OH’s op comes through quckly although it probably won’t. Yes he must be careful.

Annx Report 6 Jun 2022 19:58

It was sunny here this afternoon but nowhere near as warm as where you in the south are.

It doesn't sound as if your arm is improving Mel and might be why you didn't sleep well. It must be a real nuisance trying to do things.

The photos of the swans are lovely AnnG and the weather looks glorious so you had a much better day today. Tropical gardens sounds nice apart from that steep hill, but the views would have been good.

Mandy you are good teaching the girls how to knit. I remember my grandmother teaching me and being so thrilled when I finished a little brown scarf for my doll! Did you see there is a nice knitted cat pattern in WW next week? I might try that. My word you got a really good saving there with changing to BT and faster speed and more free things as well. I wish OH didn't want SKY Sports!!

Well it's been confirmed OH has a hernia, so they are referring him for surgery. The nurse said she hoped it would be within a year so he will have to be extra careful now not to make it worse. When we got home there was a letter from our doctors following that checkup they gave him a few weeks ago. He was shocked to see he is prediabetic, especially as my last test was normal after years of being prediabetic. He's decided he's going to eat like me now and come for more walks which will be a good start. I thought it was just typical of our surgery though that he is being sent on a course whereas I was never offered anything!! I don't think I will convince him what good exercise HW is though. ;-)

Well it's been another day of getting little done so tomorrow I must do my painting as time is running out and also get in the garden if I can. We have to be up early as window cleaner didn't turn up today.

Evening all,
It's been raining here it stopped about three this afternoon and I think its just started again .

Ann i didn't do much with the girls we were out in the garden and they got some needles and wool and started knitting ,Katie can knit as I had taught her but it was Laceys first go so it took a while for her to get going but she did it .
I have been making bags ,hair scrunchies ,little purses I have taken a photo so will send it later .

Vera I hope OH's back soon eases for him it can be a nasty old pain ,was it the gardening that caused it .

Anng sounds as if you've had a nice day with the weather and managed to get where you wanted to go today after the road closure yesterday, the tropical gardens sound nice .

Today we sorted out changing our sky and Internet provider, we are going to change to BT ,it was a good deal its funny as son was going to sort it for us this week but there was a nice young ladfrom BT who knocked on the door this morning he explained everything and he then got BT to ring us and we got it sorted over the phone ,we'll still have the sky entertainment but we'll now have free Now tv,Netflix and Britbox too ,two new phones with 700 free minutes a month and a new box , a much better Internet because at the moment its only 16 megabytes and we'll be on 150 and all that for half the amount we are paying now so a good deal ,the change over will be on the 20th June.

Vera, it was the party for the whole town so I assume the council gave themselves permission. I think there was a photo in the DM this morning.

Hi all
It has been a beautiful sunny blue sky day here. Short sleeves and crops, so different to yesterday. We went to Abbotsbury Swannery this morning, then had a picnic lunch and a rest. Then we went to Abbotsbury Trlopicsl garden this afternoon . We are all tired now ,we walked 3.25 miles which included a very steep hill. In The gardens up to the viewpoint over Chesil Beach and The Fleet.

Been a beautiful day here today and its 21 degrees here now.
My arm was hurting last night and I did'nt know where to put it so it did'nt ache.

Nearly dropped off a while ago but started doing something. If I go to sleep during the day I don't wake for hours and lose the day.

Was going in the garden but hav'nt got up there yet. Still have to find soemthing for tonights dinner. I have a big pot of stek on the cooker to make two pies out of but not for tonight. I do have a couple of bits of steak in the freezer maybe I will get that out and have it with egg and chips.

Morning All,

Just dull and 10 degrees here. We are waiting to see if the window cleaner will come before we shower as he is due today. With both bathroom windows opening wide, he would get a right eyeful!! lol.

Sorry to hear your OH has set his back off Vera and I hope it soon rights itself. Maybe the gardening you did didn't help. It's a good idea to get a big shop of things that don't perish as the effort is less often! I can't imagine going back to doing big shops in supermarkets again even though ours are less than a mile away. It's nice for buying some things where you want to select the best and browse to see new items, but I'm sure we have spent less with having deliveries.

How is your arm now Mel.........any better? It's horrid when you don't get a good night's sleep. I find I can't sleep in the day afterwards and just feel I have no energy. Doing your craft sounds a good idea. What do you make your moulds from and do you use items you have to mould around to make replicas of them?

I wonder what Katie and Lacey did with Mandy when they were with her for the day.

OH is on the move so I think he's given up on the window cleaner and is switching the shower on.

Morning Vera and all,

Guess what ? We have a nice bright sunny morning with plenty of blue sky and thin white clouds.

I feel like a wet week today as I went to bed at 12am and was still awake at 3.58am when I cam eout to the kitchen to see what the time was. I was cough cough cough too which did'nt help. Oh got up twice and came back to bed and was snoring right away. I still lay there. Must have dropped off in the end and had a few hours.

Nothing planned for today but I need to pot my tom cuttings I took off the GD plants. They are on the windowsill in water and have suddenly shot out roots and are looking a bit unhealthy. I just thought I would give it a try and see if I can get a trust or two off them.

Good morning

It’s rained heavily overnight again and now it’s very grey and drizzling. OH’s back “went” again last night so he had a bad night as well and is moving very gently. I have a Tesco order this afternoon and he usually deals with getting the stuff out of the crates into bags but it will have to be me today Of course it’s a big order so there will be several crates to deal with. Now that I am prepared to go out for milk and fresh veg I am stretching the time between deliveries so I’ve ordered 3 weeks’ worth of stuff.

Just the washing to do today but it won’t be hung out in this weather. I hope it’s better where you are.

Had a lazy day here too. I did some crafting as I am still making things for Brew Cottage and the leanto. this time I have gone back to making moulds and plaster casting.

Happy Anniversary Mandy and Colin hope you had a lovely day. <3

Was up early this morning so I am very tired but thought I would pop in and read the posts.

Night night see you all in the morning.

The road closure was for the town celebrations so organised by the council I imagine there were proper yellow road closed signs. There is a road that traffic diverted on but that was ok if you were going further on the route but I knew the turning we wanted was in the middle of Beaminster off to the right. The alternative road went in the wrong direction. We have other things planned so we may not get to Broadwinsor. A shame as I wanted daughter to see the village where her Great great grandfather is buried. Although as far as I know there is no grave.

Oh and happy anniversary Mandy and Colin hope you have had a lovely day.

Hope all goes well for OH’s appointment tomorrow Ann.

Annx Report 5 Jun 2022 17:08

<3HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MANDY & COLIN <3 I hope the family brought something nice for you both. Yes it was good to see the Queen with Paddington! With all the serious stuff we watch her do it is good to see her fun side. We watched the pageant and really enjoyed it. It was impressive and I wondered where on earth all the horses and vehicles waited till they started. They must need a heck of a lot of space for all the uniforms and horse tack too.

4 subs and 2 out of stock with the food so not too bad this time. We have had a lazy day otherwise and didn't attempt any gardening with the food coming and lifting that. OH has his hernia assessment tomorrow at a centre in one of the villages about half an hour from us. We decided that would be better than battling our way into the city. We aren't so sure now though as his appointment is just at the time a school opposite the centre will be coming out and I'm wondering if parents will be using the centre carpark spaces. I'm going too as he may be a bit sore for driving afterwards.

That's a pity Mel. Did they decamp to the village Hall or did it stay fine for them to use the field? It's been dry here till the last half hour and is drizzling a little now. I did wonder if it was a Wren's nest in the shed as I have seen one in the garden recently and they may be small enough to squeeze their way inbetween the shed boards. I didn't know they may build several nests though. I'll have a closer look when I'm sure the wasps have all gone. I remember my canaries I bred could be fussy about their nests. One built a beautiful nest once, lined it all out and it looked really cosy. The next morning she had flung everything out of the nest and started again finishing with something that looked draughty and threadbare! She raised chicks in it though.

What a nuisance the road you wanted was closed AnnG and that you didn't get to the craft place and cafe. I imagine it will be open again tomorrow so you will get a chance to go another time.

SuffolkVera

SuffolkVera Report 5 Jun 2022 16:14

We had a lot of heavy rain overnight and today it has just been very grey and a bit showery.

What a shame your event had to be moved to the village hall Mel; disappointing for you and your OH after getting the field ready and disappointing for the villagers too. That's the problem with living in a country with such a changeable climate. I am glad our fete was yesterday.

I am surprised the residents got permission to close the road if it was a main route AnnG. How annoying to have to turn round and find something else to do instead.

Happy Anniversary Mandy and OH. I hope you are having a lovely day in spite of the weather.

As you say Ann, heads might well roll over the fire engine incident. As the area is now short of a fire engine I hope there isn't a major incident. Goodness knows what it will cost to repair the damaged vehicle and clear up the spillage, not to mention having to send another engine and crew out. OH went for a walk this morning and said there is a really strong smell of diesel everywhere and I must admit I haven't opened any windows today.

I haven't managed to watch any of the Jubilee programmes when they have been on but I have watched the trooping of the colour on the iPlayer and hope to catch up with the others over the next few days.

I spoke briefly to my son this morning to find out if my granddaughter had been delayed getting to Greece. Apparently she got to Athens OK but then only had just over an hour to get through all the airport rigmarole and get a taxi across town to where she had to get a bus. Of course she missed the bus! So she was stuck in Athens till the next day but she's quite resourceful so found herself a bed for the night and travelled on the following day. Her first "job" was walking the beach for 5 hours during the night. She said she really ached.

We were going a small craft centre and nice coffee shop that T and I used to visit. BUT we were within a couple of miles of it at Beaminster when we came upon the only road closed for a street party. Would you believe this was the main A road through Beaminster and the only way we couldd go to get to Broadwinsor. We were not amused and had to turn round and drive back to Bridport. Not many shops open but Peacocks was so I got a couple of tee shirts and a pair of pyjama crops. Had a good walk round then on to Morrison’s for lunch of sandwiches and to buy a few bits we wanted.. it was dry in Bridport but rained when we were in Morrison’s. And is brighter and dry now.

Afternoon all,

Not very bright here we had rain over night and first thing but it's dry now ,family came this morning as its our wedding anniversary today .

We really enjoyed the Jubilee concert last night too and what a start with the Queen and Paddington bear and the seven hundred drones at the end that made the patterns in the sky.

Ann that was good OH got rid of the wasps nest sounds as if it was the start of them building the nest so it's good it's gone ,I remember you getting stung by all those wasps a very frightening experience for you and not one you want repeated .
We were waiting for Diana Ross too ,I think she had trouble with her microphone as when she first came on she wave her hand as if she want someone to help her with her mic .
I thought all the photos beamed onto the Palace was good too
We're just waiting for the Jubilee pagent to start .
