Oh I never get that many cards AnnG, you did very well! It sounds like you had a nice day with some nice meals with your friend. I have wondered about getting some Echinacea. They don't seem to need staking for one thing and are drought tolerant and have some lovely colours. A good choice I think. You will be able to edge the gravel now you have the log edging too.The Gordon's when you got back was a nice surprise. :-) |

I have had a good day 24 cards I think at the last count. My friend took me to two garden centres at the first which was dobbies I used my birthday voucher to pay for coffee and cake for us both. At the second she bought me lunch. so it was a good day, very hot but nice to have company. I bought log roll in the first garden centre and a pair of sketcher's trainers and an Echinacea in the second. I have got birthday money to spend but spent my own money on what I bought today. when I got home there was a card on the doorstep attached to a small can of gorden's Gin. From my neighbour over the road. |

It is 34 here now and very sticky. I wore my hat walking round and it was ok. Coming back I wore the hate when I was in the sun and took it off in the shade. |

Mandy OH has gone for a lay down and I think he is doing the same as Colin with his eyelids. He didn't sleep too well last night and a tooth near the extracted one was twinging and aching. He rubbed some sensitive toothpaste round it and took some parcetamol which helped. It is much better now but he thinks he hasn't been careful enough when eating so hopefully it will soon settle. You must have jumped when the fire engine turned up even though you were pretty sure what the problem was. They have to do all the checks before they move off gain too so it would have taken a while. It's surprising how loud cars sound when it's really early in the morning. One comes to deliver our local paper about 6.30 am and you can hear the loud music playing before the car appears. The things you are making sound good. Bandanas have become popular haven't they. Even a friend's cat and dog wear them. I bet Max was enjoying the cool tiles on his bare tummy! |

I hope you enjoy your get together Vera and manage to keep cool. Stick a bowl of icecubes or some water in front of the fan tonight. It might help a bit. |

We all seem to have struggled with sleep last night. I had sorted out my bedroom and en-suite for our visitors so had moved into a twin bedded room which is probably one of the warmest rooms in the house. I had a fan going all night but it was like trying to sleep in a fan oven. So this morning I have a stinking headache and feel like a wet week. Never mind, I'll plaster on the smiles for our guests who are due to arrive about lunchtime. |
