Vera I have got the Morphy richards soup maker. I tried it this morning but pressed the wrong button by mistake so hahad a very chunky instead of smooth, cauliflower, broccoli, courgette and potato in stock from the chicken I cooked on Sunday. soup. No problem though as I just liquidised it. I prefer smooth soups. Next time I will be more careful although I did think I had pressed the right one for smooth. I am impressed by how easy it is to clean.

Hope everything goes ok tomorrow Mandy we will all be thinking of you and sending our love. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

BIL rang this morning and told me he was up the top taking the battery off the mower!!! Why he could'nt come down and tell me what he was going to od I don't know as he soon appeared down here. He's taken the battery to charge at his house as his other half needed picking up from work.

I was just settleing into some casting when he rang so that went out the window.

Morning Anng and all,

Nice sunny morning at the moment but what its going to do later on I don't know. It has rained in the night as the window have rain drops on them.

Pc says 13 degrees and cloudy so I don't expect too much sun today.

Where are you going in Cornwall Anng?

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 29 Sep 2022 08:13

good morning all, looks like we had some rain overnight, although not a lot and it is just misty now and 9 degrees.

Not going out today and not a lot needing doing in the garden so I don't mind if it rains. Plenty to do indoors though. Hope you all had a good night. I didn't have a bad one, do keep dreaming and waking up though.

Evening All,

Oh my word, you poor thing Mandy! What a thing to happen, it must have been so painful. I hope they have done the operation now and that you are recovering, but you must feel so helpless with both arms out of action to a degree at least for a short while. What a shame as it will slow down you managing to do all your crafts. Just rest up and get better for now and we hope to hear from you once you are able.

Thanks for letting us know Chris and saying you will keep us updated with progress.

I went with OH to the retail park further north yesterday and had a look at various things including a soupmaker they had, but it seemed quite heavy so I want to look at others before deciding. Not a slow cooker to be seen, same as the Factory shop!! I did get some Christmas cards and other cards, including for OH as they had a good selection. I also got a black jogger set with zip jacket for less than half price at £16 which will be warm for loafing around the house in the winter. We had a brekkie while we were there too and hardly anyone in the place. They have reduced stocks a lot and don't sell as much variety of things now. I would like to have gone round the big garden centre there too, but both of us were limping a bit so we came back.

Today was the painting class so I have been busy with that and writing notes for it. OH has gone out to a meeting and there's crashing from next door as they have a skip and are loading stuff into it.

Brr it was chilly last night and today so we have had 2-3 short 15 minute blasts with the heating. I'm setting the oven to self clean tomorrow and that should warm everywhere a few degrees as it has to get really hot.

What a todo sorting out your email glitch Mel but well done with sticking it out and getting it sorted. It does help if you get someone patient on the line. Great that you have a cheaper package too. I've had a problem trying to get an invoice from an online company I bought printer ink from. They said it would be sent via their service when the inks were posted but nothing came. I looked all over their site to see if I could print the invoice, but no joy there. I emailed them and they said they sent it again, but no joy again and in the end they attached it to their email reply! Goodness knows what will happen if I order from them again. We waste so much of the time we are supposed to gain by using technology!!

It's good the painter should finish today Vera and that he's satisfied your OH's standards. Soon you will be straight again. Is the new fresh paint making the other rooms look in need? :-D I hope your lunch with the gang was ok today, even if it wasn't your favourite place.

That's good you made it to the chiropodist AnnG and were lucky to bump into friends and have a coffee and chat. Yes, Christmas will soon be upon us so it's good to buy a few bits when you see them. Are you off somewhere with talk of packing?

Thank you Chris. I guess Mum is not only in pain but is also frustrated, she is such an active person with her hands. Mandy you are going to need some patience I think. But oh dear, both wrists, I guess you put both arms out to protect yourself. I hope the ops are quick and that you soon heal. We are all thinking of you. Better get a supply of books to read.

Island you are a tease, you know what a curious lot we are!!

Vera hope the pub is not too chilly.
The bus was on time going in and I got straight on one coming home that was ready to go so that was good too. I got one or two bits and pieces for Christmas presents and had time for a coffee in m&S and was lucky to meet a couple of friends in there by accident so had a chat with my coffee. This afternoon is getting the rest of the stuff ready for packing tomorrow.

Poor Mandy.
I hope the operation can take place soon and then you make a good recovery.

Thank you Chris for letting us know..

It will be hard for Mandy waiting for healing, as she loves to do so much creative work.

Beautiful warm sunshine here.
I hope it's pleasant for all of you too.

O my gosh Mandy you silly girl. I do hope you get the op quickly and start to get on the mend but these things take a lot of time. I do feel for you all and it must be so frustrating not being able to do anything.

Thank you Chris for letting us know and please keep in touch if you have the time and let us all now how she is getting on.

Maisie will have to wait a while now. Poor you and you were so enjoying making her and the others.

Sending lots of love and wishes Mandy. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Hi all, it's mandys son Chris here. Unfortunately mum tripped over yesterday coming back from shopping.
She has broken both her wrists and has to have an operation on both of them today hopefully or within the next few days.
She can't use either of her hands at all so can't chat on here at the moment.
She's well in herself but has a bruised and swollen eye also.
I'm sure she will be able to type in a few day fingers crossed.
If not I will just post on here from time to time to update you all.

Chris. :-)

SuffolkVera Report 28 Sep 2022 09:49

Good morning all

It's a chilly 6 degrees here. Autumn has arrived I think. There was quite a stiff breeze yesterday so a lot of leaves got blown off the trees.

Well done on getting that blip between you and AnnG sorted out Mel. These things are such a faff to deal with but satisfying when you succeed. I assume you've got a BT package like us. Ours covers all our landline costs, all our broadband and sim only for both our mobile phones. They ring regularly to try to get us to take on extra but we don't need anything else and last time OH persuaded them to put the price down by a couple of pounds. I also hope Ann is OK; she's probably just been busy.

I hope your Gloucester bus turns up and you get to the chiropodist AnnG. Your feet will feel so good when you come out that you'll be able to run home :-D

One of the "Gang" has a birthday today so we ladies are out to lunch together. The birthday girl chooses where we go and she has chosen my least favourite pub. Then it will be back to her house for coffee and cake. I don't feel ill but I have been a bit snuffly for the last couple of days so I have done a Covid test this morning to be on the safe side. It was a clear negative so I feel happier about going.

Our painter should finish today. He's finished off the kitchen this morning and has just got the walls on the landing and the skirting board in the lounge to do. We've been very pleased and would happily recommend him. OH can be quite critical but even he has said how impressed he has been. OH is going to wash the kitchen floor in a minute while the room is empty and then start putting the furniture back. I've told him to leave things like pictures as I might want a bit of a change round.

I'd better go and find something to wear when I go out. It's so difficult at this time of year when you don't know quite how warm it's going to be in pubs and houses. I suppose the answer is to wear layers. At the moment I've got a lightweight jumper and a lambswool cardi on and I am shivering. We have no heating on. At this time of year we often put an electric fan heater on for a hour to take off the chill but it's not worth doing that while half the rooms are empty with the blinds taken down and most of the internal doors downstairs are open We haven't put the underfloor heating on yet as once it goes on it stays on till next spring. I have a feeling that OH will put it on this weekend though I usually try to hang out till about mid-October. Right, I'm off now to find my layers.
