Evening All,

It's been a nice sunny day here and quite warm. I popped out to the shop early this morning and nearly cleared a squirrel up that dashed across the road. They are so busy stocking their cupboards just now.

I had a right palaver with my cooker yesterday. I decided to set it to clean, (which takes about 2 hours) before the electric went up in price today. OH kept telling me it had been on for ages and ages and must have got stuck, so I listened to him and switched it off at the wall and left it to cool down so I could open the door, which locks until it is cool. When I switched it back on the door was still locked and no amount of twiddling knobs helped release it. Last night I set it to do it all over again and it worked thank goodness, but I didn't save any electric doing it twice did I. lol. At least it is sparkling clean now. :-D

OH went to a local match after changing his mind about 4 times and got stuck in a lot of traffic going to the retail park. I think people must be getting their Christmas shopping done early now local covid figures are climbing again and before prices go up even more.

Good idea to have a sort out of the cupboards and books etc before you put everything back Vera. It's amazing how much stuff we hang onto long past it's usefulness. I must make a start again as I seemed to run out of steam part way through doing the kitchen and still have top cupboards to do. Does it look fresh and clean now it's had a lick of paint?

Mel, we had wine making stuff years ago, but first OH took that with him. Same as Vera though, it's good to get rid of what you will no longer use. Did BIL come with the batteries? Did you say what they were for?

I don't know why but the weedkiller we put on the gravel on the front a week ago doesn't seem to have touched the weeds, so we need to try another sort we have. Maybe the rain wshed it off.

I hope Mandy has had a rest today and not too much pain. It must be hard seeing things you want to get on with but can't. I think I would be going commando too! :-D

Morning Vera and all,

Much better morning here today so far. We have sun blue sky with white clouds oh! the suns just gone in and out the front its cloudy!! I hope its not going to rain like it did yesterday.

So pleased your back home Mandy and the op's are over it will be much better now your in your own bed and you can get on the mend better but its going to take a while yet 6 weeks I should think at least. First hubby broke a wrist and that took 6 weeks.

On a lighter note glad your rooms are now finished Vera and it sounds like it sparked a clear out. I have just out 6 books on wine and cider making which went to the charity shops too as I shan't be doing anymore of that. Surpising how much room they take up.

Shop to do this morning and eggs for Em then the rest of the day is mine unless BIL comes.

Good morning

Plenty of rain yesterday and overnight but it looks as though it’s going to be dry, fairly bright and a bit warmer today. I hope you have good weather for your time away AnnG.

I hope you managed to get some sleep Mandy. It must be so difficult having both arms out of action. I am sure the family will look after you well so rest up as much as you can and let your body heal <3

Sainsbury’s delivered yesterday. There was only 1 sub. I’d ordered OH a bottle of port that was on offer and they sent a white port instead which went back. I’ve no real plans for today. After the painter finished the furniture went back quickly but I’m taking the opportunity to sort out some books and change pictures and ornaments around so I’m still getting straight. So far I’ve put aside for the charity shop 9 pewter tankards that OH has collected over the years (he’s still left with 3), and at least 6 books on beer and wine making as we won’t be doing any more of that.

I’ve been awake since 6 am and have had a cup of tea but I’m still in bed so I’d better get up and get moving. Have a nice day everyone.

Thanks Ann first time for me in Cornwall since 1919 or may even have been 2018. I love it too. There will be many 'memory' times I know.

Quite bright here ow 12 degrees and dry. I did manage a quick walk down to the book stall as it is only monthly now and I didn't want to miss it. Managed to get 6 I had not read. I was early and there were so many books there is was hard to choose.

Wish I would get the long tailed tits back, not seen them since they started building the huge estate up the road from here.

Morning All,

It's 11 degrees with that rainy umbrella here, but it's still dry just now. It was foggy here first thing too. I heard a wallop outside the bedroom window at 7.15am and it was the windowcleaner !! OH had to go and unlock the sidegate and it's a wonder we weren't in the shower with both windows open and having to cover our 'confusion!! :-0 lol.

Yes, we'll be thinking of Mandy today. <3 <3 Hopefully it is all done now, but I wonder how long she will be in hospital for.

In case I don't get chance to say before you go I hope you have a lovely break AnnG and get to see some gardens and have some nice meals. I am quite envious as this is only the second year in over 10 years that I have not managed a visit myself. :-) I love the beaches and natural wildness.

Mel's Cafe seems popular! I wish we saw more of the Long Tailed tits as they are so sweet.

Morning all,

Dry and still this morning but not very bright and pc says 8 degrees and cloudy.

Hsave just had the long tailed tits on the peanuts and when I got the camera they all flew away so I was putting it back onthe desk when the mum deer and fawn came through the garden. They've gone for their breakfast of apples in the orchard.

BIL should bring the batteries back today but I don't know what time he is coming so I better drink this and get ready.

Ooh Ouch Mandy Ah, of course you can't hold a book so TV will be best.

Ann I think the gardens will be open I can think of three in the almost immediate area and there are probably more. Yes a bit of everything has been packed from a t shirt to a thickish sweater.

Annx Report 29 Sep 2022 15:33

You look in a bit of a sorry state to say the least Mandy and that sounds very painful having your wrists pulled to do the plaster. Hopefully that was the worst bit. I hope you have managed to get some sleep as it can't be easy.

Well OH is filling up the gaps on his bookshelves already, he got a book from a shelf selling books for charity in the factory shop (50p) and another book arrived from Amazon today (Half price!)

Afternoon All,

Good to hear from your one finger Mandy! You must feel pretty helpless being all plastered up, but best wishes with your operation tomorrow and for a quick recovery afterwards. <3 <3 xx

I didn't sleep well and was awake till gone 3.00am and now I keep yawning. We used another 30% off voucher for the carvery today so that saved any cooking.

That will be good to have a week there AnnG. I wonder if the large gardens in the area will still be open. You'll need to pack a bit of everything won't you. We had rain overnight but it's been dry and sunny since.
