Well it got worse! Well that was fun (not) I went downstairs at 4.10 to check the last of the washing drying and noticed a message on my phone. It was GP reception. Dear Mrs Knight we sent you a reminder of your vaccinations and said the 15th, we should have said the 14th!!!! I was fuming. anyway knocked on Cynth's door to show her and she suggested going down, I thought being Friday there would be nobody there but as we walked in the door the nurse was taking things down. so I showed reception the two messages on my phone, the nurse fished up a list and gave me a sheet of questions said read those and go to the nurses waiting room (not been in there for 2 years!!,) there was nobody else around a bit like the Marie Celeste. anyway another nurse quickly called me in, rattled off the questions on the list (luckily I had read them or I would never have understood, I think she was Geordie). young lad on the computer checked my address. Nurse said ok, flu in this arm covid in the other and it was done. she had when I went in three left over. She was left with two but couldn't get rid of them, offered them to Cynth. but she had had hers last week. so it was done, I didn't have to queue at all. In the end it was hysterical as they were obviously all waiting to go home. And two will have been thrown out.

Afternoon All,
Raining this morning, but sunny and bright now.
Yes I could check the tyre pressures at the garage to see if there's any change after a week or two AnnG, but I've never checked them at a garage before and just used the footpump dial usually. It would be handy to do it at the garage though and easier. I think the sensors are just too sensitive to be honest as both of us have had them triggered in the past with just a cold night that will alter the tyre pressures. Yes OH was glad to ditch the tight socks! That was a strange thing with the message. It does sound as if they changed the date though.
Your poor arms still all bruised Mandy. It's not surprising you had a down day after this long. I think anyone would in your shoes. Now your fingers are moving a bit better things may improve more quickly which will make you feel better.
I wonder whether your PC needs something updating for the keyboard Mel? I know that can cause problems with typing lagging. I must confess I didn't know keyboards had batteries as I have only had laptops for a long time.
We went to the carvery today as they had another 30% off offer that ended today. Then we called at a garden centre that was on the way back and also looked at the aquarium shop on the same site. I drove slowly over the flat humps and avoided potholes and OH was fine, but it's helping he's still on the painkiller regime till Sunday.
When he was sitting at the dining table after we came home, a little Squirrel with a big nut in his mouth ran along the fence just outside the window and sat looking inside for ages.
We've given the heating some 10 minute blasts this week Mel to keep OH warm while he's sitting around. We are both wearing zip tops as well now. That's long enough to warm the bungalow, but with it being sunny opening the conservatory door soon lets heat inside too. I hope you can soon get your plumber BIL to come and fix your shower. You'll feel better once these niggling jobs are done and everything is working well again.

Good to see that you managed to write a bit this morning Mandy, I am sure that it will get easier. It must be hard not to twist your wrists but hopefully the splints help with that.
Strange how your plans can change. Not sure if this is the fault of technology or me. when I was away there was a strange message that said it was from our GP reception regarding my vacc appointment. it said there was a problem. I searched and tried to open the message and couldn't so i thought it was an error. anyway this morning I have had a message confirming my appointment for tomorrow (15th not as I had written down 14th) I have to assume that the strange message was to change the date. Oddly the message i received this morning has not said a time so I am going to assume that it is the same time I had before. I guess they cancelled the friday and transferred it to Saturday. We shall see. pointless trying to ring them.

Are you on a desk top PC or a lap top Mel? If the former how old is your key board? maybe the battery needs changing, or maybe you need a new keyboard.

Good morning all 11 degrees and dull so far.
I bet OH was glad to get those stockings off Ann and also to have a shower. No running before he can walk though!! :-D
With T's Lexus when a warning light came on as he was driving it was always a panic to see which one it was. Have to add, being an older car, some of the lights seemed to come on and go off for a reason. that would have worried me but (unless he knew which one it was) he didn't worry. I think he knew that the lights needed resetting. Having so much computerised seemed to make things worse. with my car and just basic warnings it was never a problem, the lights were easily recognised. But glad yours seems to be sorted. Maybe get the pressures checked at the garage the next time you go for petrol.
Mel, your bungalow will seem empty soon if you fill any more boxes and send them off.

Evening All,
Goodness Mandy you poor thing and what an ordeal you are going through with those nasty breaks! All those stitches!!!!! :-0 Yes keep resting using the sling while it saves you pain. I feel so sorry for you, but at least you are a step forward with the plaster off. I hope you are managing to at least get some sleep. We are all thinking of you, so as Vera says, don't try to post if it makes it painful, keep it brief when you can manage a few words so we know you are ok. Lots of love. xxx <3 <3 <3
OH managed a careful shower today, has said goodbye to the socks and had fresh dressings on. He is moving carefully, seems surprised when he gets twinges and a little pain, but I have to remind him not to expect too much yet. He has done some of his work today between rests.
I had a panic when I set off in the car for my walk first thing as the tyre pressure warning light came on a mile from home, so I turned round and went back. I checked the pressures when I got back and a couple of tyres were just a couple of pounds low so I managed to blow them up a bit with a footpump with my better knee! When I started the car the warning light was still on, so I went half a mile and came back and it was still the same. Hoping it wasn't a puncture, I rang the new garage in the village I went to a few weeks ago and he said most cars nowadays need the tyre warning resetting in the menu, although some do reset after driving again. He told me how to do it, but said to pop straight round and he would show me as well, which was very good of him. After driving into the village on the way the warning went off though, so I obviously hadn't driven far enough before! He was on the phone when I got home so I left him a grateful message. Now I need to see if it comes on again which it will do if it's a slow puncture. I think it was far less stressful when we didn't have these warnings and you just looked at your tyres before getting in your car. It seems ok at the moment though as I drove it to my hair appointment later with no problems. I got an extra head massage today as they have a trainee.
Vera that struck a chord with me as I remember mum wanting various new appliances like a washer and hoover and her being a bit disappointed when dad proudly announced he'd fixed them, especially when he said they would be good for years yet!! I must make a start on my Geraniums now and try some cuttings too as the parent plants are so big now. I have a pretty variegated one and it would be nice to have more of it as well. I will have to try and dig them out of the back wallpots as OH can't lift them off the wall for a few weeks yet. I can manage to get the front wall pots down myself.
I hope your meeting was good AnnG and nice to get a break from the hosting! Good luck with your double jabs which is what we had. Like Mel said, most of us seem to have a bit of discomfort for a couple of days but that is all.
It will be good to get the roof sorted before the bad weather Mel and know that it won't be a problem and good to get it sorted before any boards need replacing. I see more bags of things are going so you are making progress.
Off to bed now.........I'm shattered!

Man rang this morning and said he would be here about 12pm so it was'nt so bad. He arrived and went up to have a look. Came down and said he would messure up but the felt up there has all gone so it will be a whoole new roof and not just a repair. The good thing is all the boarding up there is ok so that dos'nt need replacing. Said he's send an estimate in about for days or so.
So Mandy free at last from those horrid plasters. 11 Stitches in each arm !!!! ouch have you still got the stitches in or have they come out now the plaster is off? Good graceous you don't do things by half do you? You poor girl I feel so sorry for you but you are on the mend even though it is a slow process. Use the slings if they help and don't attempt anything too hard. Sending love. <3 <3 <3

I’m sorry your wrists are still so painful Mandy. Unfortunately these breaks do take time to heal but you are making progress. I expect you feel frustrated not to be knitting and sewing and getting bits and pieces made for Christmas. For goodness sake don’t worry about typing posts. You don’t want to be making your hands and wrists ache any more than they do already. As AnnG says, just a couple of words occasionally so we know you’re OK will be enough.
Has your roofing man been yet Mel? I hope he can fix your problem without too much expense.
I hope your garden group has gone well AnnG. It’s good you’re getting a break from hosting it. I also hope your jabs are OK tomorrow. My flu arm was fine but my Covid arm was more painful than on previous occasions but it only lasted 48 hours. OH only had a slight ache and friends who had the jabs the same day as us had no reaction at all. With luck you won’t have much of a reaction either.
I haven’t got any further with the geraniums Ann. So far I have lifted and potted up 7 plants and taken 15 cuttings. I’ve got another 10 plants plus 4 or 5 that I grow for the lovely multi coloured leaves. If I get around to it I’ll take some cuttings of those as I don’t want to lose them. I was always pretty good with cuttings but lately not many of mine have rooted. My green fingers are letting me down; they must have got powdery mildew or something ;-)
