Good morning Mel. Have you checked the battery in the key board? although as it is typing some keys ok it may just be that you need a new keyboard, worth changing the battery though first.
Hope you feel better today, maybe you felt a bit off yesterday because you are not sleeping well if the mattress is making your back ache.
I have a friends car currently on my drive as she and Barbara are off on a coach trip to Tenby until Friday.
sadly either Barbara didn't pass on my message or Judith forgot but instead of parking in front of the kitchen window to the side of the main drive, she is parked straight on the drive and right up against the garage. so please all fingers crossed that I don't need to get into the garage for either the C Heating boiler or the fuses. I have no internal door. she parked before 6am as they had a taxi to an early coach in gloucester.

Morning Anng and all,

Did'nt feel too good yeterday. Did'nt do anything in the end, no minitures or crafts of any kind. All I did was feed the chickens and bantam and fish the leaves out of the big pond. BUT I did have an egg from the new girls which was laid in the house and not in the nest box.

Its wet here this morning so must have rained in the night and its 13 degrees and pc say nearest rain 92 km away!! How do they know that???

Still got back ache in fact I think I have had it ever since I bought the new matress oh wanted. I find it very hard and I loved the old one which he burnt.

Posting this before I lose the lot as pc type is not coming otu as soon as I press the keys.

Good morning all. another wet start to the day although I don't know if it has been as bad as they said overnight. It is 10 degrees. I don't have anywhere to go so it will be a day indoors for me. I would really like a dry day to finish doing the garden. Still at least it has not been frosty.
Vera, hope you and OH are beginning to feel better. I guess it will be a few days before you both test negative though. I wonder if you caught it at your AGM? possible from the timescale. Not long after your jabs either, when I had it in April it was only two weeks after my jabs.

AnninGlos Report 23 Oct 2022 13:25

sorry to hear that you are so poorly with it Vera, I hope you are on the mend now anyway and your OH as well. I wonder where you caught it. Just try and remain hydrated maybe you feel worse because of your ongoing health problems, hopefully nobody else from your group will have caught it, maybe somebody who was there was a carrier.

Anyway let us know when you feel more like posting. <3

Good morning everyone

Sorry I haven’t been posting but I have been pretty grotty for a few days. That’s because we have now joined the Club - we both have Covid. We’re now fully paid up members of the human race.

Joking apart, I wouldn’t wish this on anybody. If this is the milder version that you are supposed to get if you are fully jabbed I can’t imagine what it is like for the unjabbed. At the moment OH is a lot better than me and fingers crossed it stays that way.

I’ve been in touch with everyone who came for the birthday tea on Tuesday and everyone is OK so far. Not told the birthday girl as she will forget within a few minutes of being told but one of our group acts as liaison between us and her family so will make her son aware.

I have read the posts this morning but won’t comment as I am exhausted now and my brain is like cotton wool. Will be back soon.

Morning Anng Island and all,

I wonder if we will get rain later today as the suns shining well here but the temp is only 14 degrees and the pc says cloudy.

The young couple I offered it to are buying there first house so I expect things are tight. She does a lot of crafts and sells on Etsy. I found out from her how much Etsy take out of your price if they sell things for you. I may have a go at that.

May do some crafting today and have a day off of working outside as I can see better inthe sunshine and I don't know how long tis going to last.

Morning Ann

Dark, damp and rain which is forecast to get heavier with thunder. Play park? I don't think so :-0 I think art is on the cards.

AnninGlos Report 23 Oct 2022 08:56

good morning all, raining again and very dark 14 degrees. No plans for today so I had better do some housework I suppose, then make some Christmas cards. Don't like sundays much and wet ones even less.

Yes the hugs were lovely especially the grandson’s as he doesn’t normally do hugging. I valued that.

Island Report 22 Oct 2022 21:52

A talking to before visiting? :-0
My mother always said she could take her children anywhere. No need for 'a talking to' - I think good behaviour was the norm then.
AnnG, I'm glad you had a good time with your little people. My turn tomorrow! They can be a bit hyper but never cheeky and I'm so looking forward to their hugs :-D :-D

Annx Report 22 Oct 2022 21:50

I suppose with being exposed to what they hear with phones, on line/tv etc, children are likely to be less respectful these days. They mix much more than ever we did with nursery, birthday dos etc and must copy other children's behaviour and what they hear too. When I went to a one off daytime photography class at a senior school years ago I just could not believe the din the children were making inside.......even standing on tables as well, no respect for furniture or anything. It does seem that you hit the right spot to keep them entertained then, so they were good. I hope it works next time as well!

I see we have a yellow warning here for weather tomorrow and rain all day forecast so no outside jobs,

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 22 Oct 2022 21:27

Ann, normally these are two children who never do as they are told so a warning would not have worked. The youngest is the lad who, when staying with daughter, was overheard to say to his mother.’how dare you talk to me like that’.
I think they must just have been happy doing what they were doing. A good day maybe.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 22 Oct 2022 20:50

Mel, they must know the cost so don’t let them take advantage. They probably think you are desperate to get rid of it and are thinking you are a soft touch. Have the new chickens got names.

Annx

Annx Report 22 Oct 2022 19:49

Evening All,

Lost my earlier post........bother, bother, bother!!!

It must have been a nice surprise that the children were good AnnG. As you say, having things you knew they would like to do would help, but maybe they had a talking to before they came like we would have before we went visiting!

Mel are your new chickens rescue ones? I was wondering how many you have rescued altogether? It must be quite a few. It sounds like they should have snapped your hand off for the laser cutter with it being little used and nearly new. If you sell it with all the extras it will be a good saving for someone not having to pay the new price for it all.

We started the morning with a lap around the park and OH was fine and with driving. He did a bit of weeding on the front when we got back but he will need to be careful lifting or stretching up for a few weeks. I've put in a very small food order for tomorrow so there's less for us to carry in. He went to a local match this afternoon and I think it helped him feel pretty much back to his normal self again. He has a rainbow of bruises across his tummy though.

I did a few jobs while he was out and cleared most of the tomato plants into the garden bin after picking what was left. I will finish tomorrow as my knees had enough bending to undo the ties after a while, I did do a bit of weeding before I came in. I also cleaned the ensuite, prepared the rest of the veg for lunch tomorrow, then found an old pedometer OH wanted and also photographed his birth cert he wanted doing and emailed it to him. I think one of the councils he does work for need a copy. I cleared the fridge and wiped it out and finished the Asda order. We use a lot of the little tins of chopped tomatoes but they are expensive in the little tins. Napolina small tin costs 70p but an Asda large tin is only 38p so if I froze the remaining half tin it would only cost 19p for a half tin amount. I must see if I can look in Aldi next week and see how much theirs are. They have said there will be a shortage of tomatoes so I want to get a few tins in stock.

I got my mammagram results today which was a bit worrying as the nurse told me it could be 4 weeks. All is fine though so that was good to know.

No Vera again. I hope she is ok and I hope Mandy is doing well.

O Anng thats lovely so you did'nt have to put up with all the shouting and arguing, great.

Had the chickens arrive and Paddy saw to the two old hens for me and took them away Loraine put the three new ones in the run and as we went back to their truck BIL arrived with a car following with Katie, Luke and Isla who had come to see the laser cutter engraver. I offered it to them for £200 but they said they would think about it but offered me £150. Since then I looked up what oh paid for it and it was more than I thought and he bought a dell intel quad core for it at £194 so I have told BIL I want more for it all so we will see where it goes from there. There over £600s worth of stuff with everything and its only 8 months old.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 22 Oct 2022 16:45

I don't think so. I think they both felt comfortable here and I had provided stuff I knew they liked. I did wonder whether the eldest on had been put on medication as he was supposed to be having tests to see what his problem is, suspecting autism of some sort but he was very communicative and talked very sensible about lots of things.. I think if they get over tired and one kicks off they both do so maybe it was just a lucky day. I know daughter had them for five days in the summer and they were awful.

Do you think sweeties might have been banned? :-)

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 22 Oct 2022 15:47

They have just left. At 3.30 so were here three and a half hours. I couldn't believe they were the same children. No shouting, no tantrums and no fighting at all. ate everything in sight and were sooo polite with the please and thank yous and 6 year old spent ages explaining something to me about what he had written. I had paper and pencils, crayons etc and a couple of pages for them to colour and the three of them spent a long time just colouring or in the nine year old's case making up a board game (Mum being the third).

and I got hugs from the nine year old when they left and, wonder of wonder, from Grandson too who is not known for being demonstrative. Mmm Maybe they are thinking they might not see me again!!!!
