Had the leccy man here and he is going to get me a new shower unit and then see to the lights in the bathroom. I think he said he's coming next Wednesday. Lovely chap and he went to Addicombe school which was not far from the fire station oh worked at for 25 years.

skinny the cat seems to have decided it is almost winter so has taken up residence during the day in my conservatory. He seems to sleep all day so I guess he wanders all night.
I don't seem to have got a lot done today, I did have a new hob cleaner in my tesco shop so I did try that. It doesn't seem to have made a great difference but it is quite clean anyway. And of course I unloaded and put the shop away. Did a bit of admin on here answered emails etc but the time seems to have disappeared, Since lunch I have been down and checked the two compost makers and took veg peelings down to put in one, collected up some trimmings that Andy had left down there and put them in the garden bin I was not sure about putting the holly and Ivy trimmings in the compost the holly branches are quite hard wood.
Now I need to sort out a card for fourth grandson's birthday next week then I can make some more Christmas cards.
Hope Vera has progressed and is able to so a bit of gardening today.
No Island for a few days but I think she had little visitors. hope you enjoyed seeing them Island.

Morning Anng and all,
17 degrees here dull and dampy and rain in the air. Did'nt wake until 9am and then rushed around getting dressed etc for the plumber coming. When I went outside to look at the pond it was covered in leaves so I had to fish that lot out too.
Anng I know the people who own the field next to me and the people who are putting the sheep in there as they are Em's brother and dad and I know they will fence the place well with leccy fencing.
Been bitten all up my shoulder and neck and egs too so I am all itchy today. I hope he can fix th shower at least so I can use it as I aam fed up with washes.
Not sure if BIL is coming today, I think he may as he put another fly catcher in the garage as I took mine out and being new it was zapping them every few seconds.
Hope you all slept well and that Mandy is getting better each day, don't do too much at once of that knitting.
Island too hope your not in so much pain now.
Don't have to do eggs today as I went to Em's in the week.

good morning all, hope you all slept well. I had quite a good night, woke around 4 for the loo then laid awake for a while and finally went to sleep and woke at 0815.
Mel, who does the field belong to? Can you ask them to check that there is nowhere the sheep can get out into your garden? Remind them that they can get out onto the road from there too.
12 degrees here, dull but dry so far.

Had BIL here today all day and he fixed the newer mower that he broke last week and cut the lawns for me. Did a bit more sorting in the garage and I did the big pond filter.
Jim from a few doors away came and said Em's brother and dad were going to put 20 sheep in the field next to me to eat down the rough stuff that they don't mow. I just hope they don't get into my garden like they did once before when mum first moved in here and the sheep got in and ate all the new shrubs she had put in and then went up the top garden and ate all here runner to within a foot of the ground. Thing is they can get on the road from our garden as there are no gates.

It sounds as though you have found a useful handyman there Mel.
I managed just half an hour in the garden this morning. I didn’t do anything very strenuous but got a few cuttings from my geraniums that I grow for their coloured leaves. It’s not much but it’s a start.
We tested again this morning. Still positive :-( though OH’s red line was barely visible so I think he may be almost clear.

Mel, that is good that you have found somebody to do those jobs for you it will be good to get the shower fixed, sounds like a jack of all trades, the best sort to know if they are efficient.
Vera, sounds like you need a tonic of some sort. Maybe you are low in iron after not eating. Hopefully when you start eating a balanced diet again with lots of veg your energy will return. Just patience I suppose and it must be aggravating that OH is bouncing back to health again.
yes I am sure ann will return when she is ready as long as neither of them are ill, a bit worrying after her OH's op not to hear from her. We do worry when people go missing without saying anything. I still wonder what happened to Gill. It seems so odd that she just disappeared.

Morning girls,
We have a bright morning here so far today and pc says 14 degrees and mostly cloudy so we will see.
My friend Val came yesterday and she gave me the name and number of a plumber so we can get the shower fixed. I rang him and he is coming tomorrow so that will be good he is also a sparks and can do plastering not that I need any of that done. At least if he does the shower it will be a great help and since oh put LED lights in the bathroom every time you turn the lights on it knocks the leccy out so he's going to do that too. He sounds a very happy chap and talks as if he is laughing all the time if you know what I mean. We will see.
Wishes to Mandy and Vera and hope you're both on the mend soon now. Each day should be a little better. <3

Good morning AnnG and all
It’s a bit dreary at the moment though it’s not cold.
My cough is improving and didn’t keep me awake so much last night but I feel completely drained. Everything is an effort but I’m sure I’ll get there in the end. OH is almost back to normal I’m pleased to say. I hope Island is feeling more comfortable now and Mandy too.
I hope Ann is OK. Perhaps she is busy or just wants a few days off. She posted on another thread on Tuesday. Provided she and OH are well, I am sure she will come back when she is ready.

Good morning all, very wet and dark here, hopefully it will clear up later as it did yesterday 14 degrees at the moment.
I have just checked and the last visit from Annx was the 22nd. I will check again as that is a long time so hope they are ok. And we didn't hear from Island yesterday or Vera, hope you are both OK. Island any sign of the pain easing? And that cough Vera, is it any better. Feel better soon, and Mandy too.
I checked and no we have not heard from Annx since last Saturday.

Did the pond filter again this morning and managed to knock the leccy out twice so had to come in both times and turn it back on then I had forgotten to take the central pipe out of the filter and the water jumped out of the big filter onto the floor before it was out but once out it carried on ok. Now have a wet floor in the shed!! but at least its done.
Could'nt get the outside pump to work today every time I turned the hose off the pump stopped so I have left that till another day and the ponds quite full anyway with the rain we've had a couple of days ago.
Suns just this min come out as its been really dull and grey all morning with moisture in the air. Phones ringing.

Morning Anng and all,
Very dull here this morning pc says 15 degrees Light rain is expected during the day. The high will be 18° on this breezy day.
So I expect it will be another day of fishing leaves out of the pond.
Hope Vera is feeling a bit better this morning and hubby too and Island has had a better night.
Mandy now hear what I said and not too much knitting at a time take it easy.

Good morning all from a very dark and wet Gloucester. 13 degrees so still not cold but it certainly doesn't look like gardening weather at the moment. maybe it will change as the forecast last night was dry this morning. Hope all slept well and that those who are not well are feeling better. As Mel says Mandy take care with the knitting. A small amount might be good to get your fingers/hands moving again but don't overdo it. I expect the pain will limit how much you can do but a small achievement will help the frustration.
I don't think we have seen Annx for a couple of days, I hope that is because she is engrossed in her new art class and not because she is unwell.

Evening all,
Oh Vera I was teary on Sunday as that would have been my mum's birthday ,it was also two years since Jane died where has that time gone.
Gwyn i bet it was lovely by the sea today especially with it being so mild .
Chris and family came and did a lot of jobs for us the chimney was swept and all the room was cleaned but there wasn't much mess ,the greenhouse was taken down and also the gazebo so we feel we're getting the garden sorted now . The F&C's were lovely and family cleared away and washed up ,we could have loaded the dish washer but they decided they would wash up by hand so it could all be put away while they were here.
Tomorrow son is taking me shopping first time I've been in a shop for over a month as they have been shopping for us . I've tried to do a little knitting ,it's very slow but I've managed a few stitches .

At least you have done something useful today Vera and I too wish you better soon. <3
I have been in the garden this morning clearing up the wet soggy grass cutting BIL cleared of the mower and left outside the workshop. I kept treading inthem when opening the door. It looks a lot tidier now round there. Had three eggs today one in the house and two in the nest box.
Was fiddleing with my poly clay and there was an enomous thud on the patio door so I lookeed out and there was a bird of prey lying on its back by a pot of flowers. Got my camera and went out to see if it was dead, it was'nt so I took a pic and then another but at that point it flew off over the back and into the trees. I think it was a Kestral I will send the pic.
Also got on to the leccy on messanger again as they still hav'nt paid me for the solar money that is well overdue. They said it sould be in my bank within 48 hours and about time too. I gave them the reading on 12th Sept so its over a month.

I think any cough zaps your energy Vera so I hope yours soon clears up. Also having no appetite and not eating will not be helping as you need food to give you energy. I am sure it will return to normal soon. The fact that you have no energy and you think you should have is probably what is dragging you down and the time of year, clocks due to go back dark days and evenings is not going to help. Can only wish you a recovery as soon as possible. Meanwhile plenty of fluids and rest. <3 <3

That sounds lovely Gwyn. I could just fancy a stroll by the sea. It's 17 degrees and cloudy here though the sun peeps through from time to time. It's good weather for gardening but I just don't have the energy to do anything. I am still coughing and blowing my nose and am still struggling to eat but am making myself have some food. A friend who had Covid a month ago tells me she is still feeling lethargic.
I hope everyone else who has aches and pains at the moment is feeling a lot better today.
This morning we were both up early (not quite as early as Gwyn ;-)) and between us we got enough stew for 2 days prepared and into the slow cooker. For some reason I was feeling a bit tearful which isn't like me at all, so I gave myself a talking to and made a real effort to get myself together, even putting on some earrings. I then managed to eat some overnight oats with fruit but didn't want any lunch when OH made himself a sandwich.
I've been online this morning and bought my first 2 Christmas presents so I've done something useful today. It also registered with me why I was feeling so down. 26th October was my Mum's birthday. She was taken far too young in 1974 so 48 years ago and I think I miss her more now than ever. I can almost hear her voice saying "Come on Dilly Daydream, buck your ideas up" so buck up I must.

I did a load of washing. Then spent just under an hour in the garden cutting back two large Salvia bushes. Once I could see the gravel their pots are on I pulled up all the ivy that had covered it. I would put down more gravel if I could only get to it in the garage!!! Hopefully we will have a dry day after the weekend.
Anyway I think I shall make some cards now.

Bright sunshine here and so mild that I decided to go and see the sea.
I caught a bus and had a pleasant walk on the promenade watching the high tide waves lapping the lower level.
I ended up carrying my coat, which I had worn incase we had a shower, but the sky is bright blue and the temperature online showing at 20... amazing for the time of year.
