Morning Anngf and all,
Forgot to post this morning as I am bidding for something on ebay.
Its was a nice bright morning with sunshine although no frost this morning but by 10.30am it clouded over and then we have had hailstones.
I think I have a day to myself today so I am making the most of it doing my minitures and washing my hair.
Sorry you had a strange night Anng were there certain things on your mind? Perhaps tonight will be better. <3
Bet Mandy is getting on with her knitting. Do any of you know if she is making them for the girls? or is she going to sell them?

Good morning all. Are you all having a Sunday lie in? I didn't have a brilliant night, enough sleep but not consistent and full of dreams and confusion. Order coming this morning. Although a lot of eggs were unavailable I have ordered the more expensive St Ewe ones which I like, ordered 6 of two different types and they appear to not have been out of stock. They are lovely eggs though with a rich dark yellow yolk. Cornish I think so maybe not hit by the bird flu yet.

Just done some ironing but now have backache so I stopped. Since having the shower back I seem to change my clothes more often for some reason hence kots of ironing and with it not drying outside it needs ironiung properly. If it drys ok outside it goes on the airer in the uti room so dos'nt really need ironing.
Tomorrow I am going to strip the church advent ring as I hav'nt done it and they want it for the 27th Nov as thats the first of advent so it must be dressed by then.

Good idea to get out for a walk in the sunshine AnnG. Sadly it stayed gloomy here, but at least I cleared the space on the worktop. I had saved far more plastic spread containers and jamjars than I will need so the surplus have gone in the recycling. I even found packet of radish seeds that had fallen between them! Thank you for telling me what you have under your slow cooker and I think I will put something under mine to protect the worktop just in case.
I've finished the food order and now I'm getting my paints out although the artificial light isn't great.

It is so nice here that I have just been for a walk, just 30 minutes including a short sit down in the park. This was around the block through the houses and through the little copse by the park I did take my camera but the photos tend to be repetitive.
With the slow cooker, I have not checked Ann but mine sits on a marble (type) board so that would not be damaged. Might be a good idea to sit it on something. I cooked my meal in the air frier last night, took about 15 minutes on 190. It was fish fingers, calamari, chips and a large mushroom. All cooked in the same basket, the mushroom added halfway through.

Afternoon All,
Just lost a post but why does it happen near the end!
It says mostly sunny here and 9 degrees but the sun has been replaced by gloom and threatening black clouds! OH is off to a local match soon and if the sun does reappear I might go out with my camera. Otherwise some long overdue H/W and clearing some pandemic excess storage from the kitchen worktop so my slow cooker can live next to the microwave and a handy socket. On that subject, can you ladies who have one advise me whether the base gets very hot as I have plastic worktops and wondered if I ought to use a mat under mine?
We were up early and I got my usual 3 boxes of XL eggs from the farm shop and there were plenty, but I expect the supermarkets will be affected first.
I'm thinking with the World Cup starting soon it may be a good time to go to a garden centre I like about 30 miles away. They usually have a good christmas display and some things you don't see elsewhere and should be quieter than usual with all the football on. Luckily OH doesn't watch most of the matches, thank goodness, but I can pick a day to go when he does so I can escape for a while!
Mel it was frosty where you are wasn't it. The Fieldfare was enjoying an apple and the pic of the Robin is lovely!
I bet you were spoiled for choice in the wool shop Mandy and fancy the lady having broken her wrist a few months ago too! It must take a long time for these things to heal, as the wrist has so many bones in it. I'm sure knitting must be good for exercising the tendons though and I look forward to seeing the ram and the owl when you have made them. :-). No it wasn't very good for OH with all the background noise and a quiet speaker. One lady just turned round and went home again!
I see you have graduated to cartoons from matchstick men then! :-D I think I will be trying hard to improve mine later this afternoon.

Thanks for the photos. Please keep that frost down there. All those apples going to waste too. I know they are good for the birds but they would be food for you in your freezer.

Morning all,
Dull and dreary here don't know if it's cold out as I haven't ventured out yet . I put eggs on my list as son and dil are doing our shopping this morning ,we usually get our eggs from the farm but I leave them to get them from where ever they are shopping so we'll see if they get any .
I managed to have a walk up to the new wool shop ,nice friendly lady running it and some lovely wool in there ,we got talking and blow me if she hadn't broken her wrist in June and she's still getting pain from it . I bought some blue wool and a grey ready for the Owl but at the moment I'm doing the Ram.
That wasn't very good them double booking the hall Ann it must have been very hard to concentrate and listen when there's all that going on in the background. I'm sure your next painting will be good if I did one mine would definitely be a cartoon lol :-D

Morning AnnG, Mel and all
7 degrees here but very grey and mizzly-drizzly. I haven’t got any plans for the day. I might try and look online for a few Xmas presents.. I suppose I could always do a bit of h/w; the windows could do with a clean. I’ll just have to see what mood I’m in later on.

Valuable Mel!! I don't think they would survive the post very well though.
Good morning all, dry and bright here and 3 degrees at the moment. I don't think there was a frost though. Nothing planned today but presents to wrap and cards to write.

Sainsbury’s egg shelf only had 2 or 3 boxes today. I managed to get a box of 6 medium eggs but that was all that was available.

Looking at the listing Tesco has hardly any eggs at all now. They think this will last into the new year.

Well it's good that something went anyway Mel. If you'd had to advertise the chisels or take them somewhere to sell it would cost you in fuel and fees, with no guarantee they would sell anyway, so sometimes the bird in the hand is best. Did the laser printer go in the end?
I've got most of my painting done now but I find I am copying the colours on the photo when I need to stick nearer to the colours the artist uses instead. My picture is looking a bit like a cartoon at the moment!
I forgot to say it's good you managed to sort out an eye appointment Vera and lucky there was a cancellation. We keep expecting a hitch with everything as so little seems to run smoothly anymore. OH is ringing the hospital on Monday about his teeth as his dentist is now saying the teeth the hospital say he should fill need extracting and he won't do it! :-S He told OH he has passed it back to the hospital but OH has been waiting weeks again now.
This afternoon he went to the diabetes prevention course and people were waiting outside when he got there as the door was locked. Then when the teacher arrived another lady with other people turned up to say they had booked the hall for this afternoon to set up for a wedding tomorrow! In the end OH and the rest of his group had to sit cheek by jowl on the stage with the curtain pulled across behind them and 2 chaps had to help lift the 90 year old up the ricketty steps to the stage! He said the promised booklets had turned up at last after 6 weeks since starting the course, but they had to do the following session instead of today's as there wasn't room on the stage. He said the teacher is very quiet spoken and the wedding preparers were noisy with children shrieking so all in all it was chaos. No wonder about half the class seems to have dropped out!.
If I can get up early tomorrow I want to go to the farm shop and see if I can get some eggs as we are out of them now. Now some supermarkets are rationing them, people will start panic buying I expect.

He came a bit early but the lathe was too big for what he wants but he did buy some of the chisels and I think I let them go for too little as when I said £15 each he said yes straight away. Anyway its 12 of them out of the way and he had some of the wood blanks too and is giving me £200.
Anng you were asking who Robert was???? He is my BIL.
Did'nt post this this afternoon. Only just noticed

Morning AnnG, Mel and all
It's chilly and grey with an occasional burst of sun but at least it's not raining. I was going to finish planting the daff bulbs but when I went to step out of the back door OH was blocking it with a step ladder and bits of equipment. He's trying to sort out the security light by the back door. He suggested I went out of the front door but I'd have to be walking backwards and forwards to the garage cum shed and carrying buckets of earth or compost all round the outside of the house to come into the garden from the other side, so I decided to give it a miss again.
I hope the man coming to see the wood turning stuff likes it and offers you a good price Mel. With your slow cooker you don't need to worry too much about recipes. They are useful to have but basically if you can cook something on the hob or in liquid in an oven, then you can do it in a slow cooker. I'm with AnnG, throw something in and give it a go. Just remember not to be tempted to keep lifting the lid to see how it's doing.
Ann, that painter was a new one to me. I looked him up. I thought his work was really interesting and I enjoyed looking at his paintings online though I don't think I could live with one on my wall. It won't be an easy style to copy. I suppose you just need to pin down the essence of his style. Good luck with that.
I need to go to one of the shops to get some fresh veg and find a couple of cheap raffle prizes for a club meeting on Monday. Sainsbury's is the nearest so I'll probably go there. I like to get there around 12.30 as I find it's less busy at lunchtime so I think I'll make a coffee now. By the time I've drunk it and got shoes and coat on and OH has got the car out it'll be just the right time to go..

Morning All, No rain for a change and 10 degrees, but it feels colder. No heat on yet, but we'll give it a quick blast while we have lunch. The sun is trying to break through as I type which helps.
Good luck with selling the tools and lathe Mel. I hope he buys them and if the lathe goes it will give you more space to sort other things out. It's a nuisance it keeps raining and growing the mushrooms and is holding up you getting the leak repaired, but hopefully you will get it done soon.
We have to do one of the course photos we are given each week to do in that weird style AnnG, or he said we could try copying one of the artist's paintings. I have sketched out one of Barbara Cartland he gave us, but I can't imagine it will end up looking like her in that style!! :-D
