I do miss our Ann and wish she would post again.

My driver is one stop away but that could be 15 miles for all I know.

Hi to Will nice to see you posting. I wish Frank would come back too.

Anng the photos were good and very interesting. You must have picked the right day to go for light levels.

Just checked again and the undeliverable message was only to Ann so I hope she got it the last time I sent it.

AnninGlos Report 10 Jan 2023 10:56

Sorry about the double photos. That was not really my fault as I sent them omce and had a message 'undeliverable too big. so I sent them again.

The long 'house' is part of Llanthony Priory, the other buildings are old warehouses, I guess due for demolition. It was intriguing the mixture of buildings.

Just re-read my last message to check - note to self - please do a EDIT before pushing the button. Hope you all sorted out my errors. It doesn't help that the arthritis in my fingers means I have one finger on my left hand that points to the left and one on my right hand that is permanently down.
Have a good day folks and stay dry.

William

William Report 10 Jan 2023 09:33

Good morning all, it's raining here for a change (joking of course) No wonder all the arthritis is playing up. Better than having Covid or flu though.
Definitely a mystery about my missing post but hey, ho, it doesn't matter now, I got it through eventually anyway. This morning it was FAcebook playing up. I made my post up for a blog I do on an imaginary cafe where daft folks like me can 'meet up' and the wheely thin just kep going round and round and round - and I couldn't get of Facebook or Google. There was me thinking 'I wish I had copied' the text before I pushed the DONE button. Eventually I had to go through through a re-start before I could eventually make my post. Technology is OK when it's working well, but if it's playing up, it's the pits.
That reminds me of a funny incident. Our young mother from next door was in for a chat one day and saying her eldest daughter is going through the terrible teens. Of course, we had always found Megan to be a lovely young girl but her Mum said she's like that with others but with her, her Mum. Her ultimate threat to bring her teenage daughter under control is to threaten to switch of the Wi Fi. My how times have changed. My Dad only had to give me a certain look to bring me under control.
Here goes that this post works.

Morning Anng and all,

Dull and windy here this morning grey skies and miserable after yesterdays lovely sunny morning. Its 12 degrees and cloudy by the pc so I expect it will stay that way all day with some rain thrown in.

Shopping should come today so we'll see. At the mo he's 7 stops away.

Nice pics Anng but I think we got them all twice. I like the one of the red brick building with the ivy on it and the new building in the background and the first one of the two houses one wiht mulliand windows.

Better get my hair up so I don't frighten him when he comes.

Good morning all. Slept well last night so made up for the night before, must have been the short walk down by the canal to the docks yesterday afternoon. goodness it was cold. Still it was dry and i got a couple of photos of buildings etc.

Nothing planned for today except washing and changing the spare bed and mending a toilet roll holder (if I can) that seems to have got demolished while daughter and son in law were here :-S

Been quitge busy today. I have done some casting and put some coats on moulds. Cleaned the little loo.

Now its starting to get cold again. The wind dropped late afternoon and we've had sun most of the day although its so low in the sky it dos'nt do much for the solar lights on the patio.

Mandy I want to see a pic of them all together. Are you making them for the girls or just making them? cos you like them?

Good morning all, didn't have such a good night last night, couldn't get to sleep, then did and woke again 2 hours later, went on like that all night finally waking up at 0915.

I have still got a lot of post Christmas/holiday tidying up to do and am going out with a friend at 1.30pm. supposed to be going to Gloucester docks to take photos for photography group at the end of the month but it is not very nice so not sure what we will do.

And now we have hailstones. The sky is blue grey white and sunny out the back and the winds blowing a hooley.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 9 Jan 2023 08:50

Morning all,

The suns just trying to shine here this morning and pc says 8 degrees and cloudy. At the mo we have blue sky but as I awoke the sky was grey and the larch trees were bending in the wind.

HW today I think as I still have ironing to do and I need to tackle some cobwebs. They seem to appear just after I have hoovered up all the spiders I can see.

Hope Vera slept better last night as she needed it and hope the head dos'nt ache too much this morning.

What are you up to Anng?

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 8 Jan 2023 18:13

There's posts from Will on the 1st and the 3rd and I think there could be another one too.

Well I hav'nt done a thing today except feed all the chickens and wild birds and do bacon and egg. I have just sat looking on the pc at various things. I seem to have lost my get up and go at the moment. I did take the recykling up the top as they come tomorrow and I did'nt put it out last week cos there was'nt much in the box.

I hope you sleep better tonight Vera and wake refreshed for the day ahead.

Mandy how's the Owl going? How many have you knitted now as I have lost count. I can remember the mouse the ram and thats all.

SuffolkVera Report 8 Jan 2023 17:16

William, did you do a later post about researching Suffolk or is the post you are talking about the one that said:

"As I mentioned Suffolk as a subject for one of my poems I have been doing a bit of research and wishing that on the times I visited the county that I had taken more photos and done more sketches".

If so, that one was posted on 1st January and is still there. I'm sorry to hear that Carmel isn't too well and hope the antibiotics improve things for her.

OH did some jobs in the garden in sunshine this morning while I cooked his beloved Sunday roast dinner. As soon as we had eaten and I wanted to go out there it came over as black as the ace of spades and then the heavens opened. It stopped a little while ago but now the computer is telling me rain is starting again soon. It's got quite cold again as well.

Mel, my geraniums were past saving I'm afraid, so there was no point bringing them in to the conservatory and they had rotted too much to cut back. I just wish I could work out how they got so wet so I can make sure it doesn't happen again.

Mandy, I don't know why I am not sleeping at the moment but it is not through worry over the next eye injection. I was very apprehensive before the first one but now I know exactly what to expect I am quite calm about this next one. In fact, life generally is pretty good at the moment (apart from tiredness and headaches!) so it's not stress keeping me awake.

It sounds as though you had a good long session with your friend AnnG.

I've been at the computer upstairs for quite a while and I didn't put any heating on up here. I've just realised how cold I am so I'm going downstairs to get warm now. I hope we all have a good night and wake up tomorrow without any aches and pains.

That is strange William, you are right it has disappeared, I remember reading it. You didn't accidentally delete it I assume as nobody else is able to delete your posts. How weird.

It stayed dry until 2pm here but has rained a bit off and on. I went with my friend for coffee at 10.45 and got home ar 2.15, two cups of coffee and a chocolate brownie, missed lunch and just had a cup a soup when I got home. We were talking most of that time then just a quick wander round the garden centre. So nothing done at home today. :-D :-D

William Report 8 Jan 2023 15:00

Well I don't know what is going on with this thread? I posted a message a couple of days ago and now I can't trace it! It was to the effect that I'm am researching Suffolk so that I can write a poem on it. Yes, I know I've been there a few times as it bordered on my native Essex but I like to get some facts into my 'pastoral poems' Especially where my illustrations are involved, but you won't be able to see them on here. My latest booklet of poems has sold well and I am just chasing up some that I sent by post. The strikes and holidays have delayed most of them and they are only just reaching the recipients.

Carmel hasn't been well these past few days and I had to get the local surgery involved to get her antibiotics. What with that and the weather I only seem to get out to go shopping, roll on spring, summer and some good health. Now I hear they are talking about snow on the way! Oh well, if that's the case, I'll just write a poem about it.
Have a good Sunday folks and I hope this message doesn't just disappear.

Sunny here and 7 degrees not a lot happening here today ,we've decided on Ham ,eggs and chips for tonight so nice and easy .

I was looking forward to the new lot of Mid Summer Murders tonight now its been taken off for the Prince Harry interview, for someone who didn't like the press intrusion and took himself off abroad to get away from it all and now he's in the lime light even more but I suppose its all about the money now, what ever would the queen have said about all this .

My shopping did come on the 5th in the end and now I had a job to get Tuesdays order to £40 but managed it in the end. I was getting worried about you as you had'nt posted for a few days. I sent you a pm.

I have ordered some lambs liver as oh would'nt eat liver I hav'nt had it for years. I shall enjoy that with a bit of mash and some kind of greens. Mum used to cook liver on a Saturday when I was young. Its supposed to be good for you so I'll give it a try and if I don't like it now I shall take it up to Hazel for the dogs.
