Good morning all

Very cold and frosty but there are blue skies and sunshine. It’s the sort of day that tempts you outside only to turn you into a pillar of ice the second you step outside the door.

I’m feeling more cheerful this morning. I got a bit more sleep last night and think there is a slight improvement in my back, though I’m still groaning every time I move.

My neighbour’s wife hasn’t tested positive for Covid yet. Tbh I am surprised neither of them have had it before. They are both vulnerable but all through the lockdowns they were going out and having people in their house, and taking all sorts of risks.

We are still getting cakes etc from our neighbour the other side but much less frequently now. It’s more like once a month instead of once a week.

I’m off to do a little light dusting now. I’m not doing anything very energetic at the moment. Stay warm and have a nice day.

Realloy frosty out there this morning but I think the sun is going to shine as its trying. Pc says -1 and the cars frosted right over windows doors the lot is all white. and it has a crew cut but no fern patterns.

I have seen three Robin's around the bird feeder this mroning all together and no fighting yet.

The deer have been coming in the garden this week too and the blimmin rabbits. The deer have started on the day lillies already so they must have their first shoots up and the snowdrops in the orchard have been up for two weeks and I kept forgetting to tell you. They are very sparce at the mo but will thicken up a bit later on.

Good morning all. A very hard frost this morning but the temp has come up to 0 degree now well that is according to alexa. According to my pc it is -5, however that seems to cover anywhere between here and Wiltshire so who knows.

Tesco due this morning one acceptable sub and one not available that is not important, but I do always find it strange when an item is unavailable to deliver that has not been unavailable late afternoon before.

As long as it is at least 7 hours. Cubed chicken breast can be a bit shorter but normally carrots and potatoes need the longer time.

Anng is the meat nice and tender when it's cooked on low ?

I only ever cook on low for about 7 hours.

I cleaned the big girls house out this afternoon.

Put the slow cooker on this morning so I should have some stew tonight but by mistake when I made a cuppa I put it back on but on low instead of medium and I have only just noticed. Goodness knows when it will be ready and I may have to find something else for dinner tonight.

Its frosty out now when I shut the chickens in the grass was crunchy. Its 3 degrees here now and it says mostly cloudy.

Ooh yes Vera I was going to say, I wonder if your neighbour would have known he had covid if he had not been taken into hospital

Afternoon all,

Another frosty morning here and now the wind has got up a bit so it feels colder than it is, I had to go up to the bank to get some money out ready for a log delivery next week, well we hope next week we'll see how busy they are when we ring up.
As I walked home I could feel fine sleet on my face and I can see rain drops on the window now.

Vera you rest up and get that back better again ,so the poor chap has covid now at least he's in hospital and can get the treatment he needs, hope his wife doesn't come down with it .
Like Mel I was wondering if your still getting the cake delivery .

Some body called over the gate yesterday and said did you know you have a flat tyre on the car .
Son came today and pumped it up ,Colin had gone out the day before yesterday and checked all the tyres so don't know if that had anything to do with it we'll see if if goes down again .
Son will soon take the wheel off and get a new tyre put on for us ,we don't need the car over the weekend .

I was wrong saying there was no frost. When I looked closely there had been a frost but it had melted in the sunny areas and it is still frosty in the shade.

Vera, wise not to go to town but very dispiriting to see veg that is past its best on display. Better maybe to have tinned or frozen. I hope your back will continue to improve albeit slowly. Maybe the cold weather affects it.

Vera I'm pleased there is a little improvment in your back. Rest up and don't do anything silly.

So your neighbour had covid as well! does that mean his wife may have it too? I hope she is ok and don't get close to her. Do you still get the cakes from the man who made them with his grandchildren through covid?

Good morning all

Bright and sunny here as well but there’s still a heavy frost over everything..

My back is still being a problem so I’m not going anywhere or doing much, so nothing to write about. I think it is fractionally better today so fingers crossed that it is now going to improve.

I wanted to go to the market yesterday for some decent veg but I just couldn’t face it so went to Sainsbury’s (our nearest shop) instead. I wished I hadn’t. Half the veg shelves were empty and what was there looked old and well past its best.

You might remember I mentioned about an ambulance being at our neighbour’s house the other day. Apparently he had a very high temperature and when he went to the bathroom his leg gave way under him. Wife couldn’t get him up and, because of his health problems, called the ambulance. They were there in 30 minutes. The hospital thought he had an infection and, while testing, found he had Covid so they kept him in.

I’ve got a stew for today and tomorrow in the slow cooker and I’m now going to shower and then put on a towel wash.. Enjoy your day whatever you are doing.

Its the same here Anng 1 degree and pc says partly sunny but the suns out. There was and still is a hard frost out there but I have not been out there yet.

The deer is up the garden eating the new shoots on the day lillies even though there is wire over them and the wild birds are feeding like crazy onthe bird feeder.

I wonder what today will bring ?

good morning. it is 1 degree here and no frost at all, pale blue sky white clouds and sunny. Hopefully another nice day like yesterday. Not that I am going anywhere but it is nice to look out and see the sun. and I need to go and pick up the branches etc from the honeysuckle I had to cut back yesterday.

Yes it is very quiet. I did a towel wash, then a few admin jobs, working down my list. I also sorted the Christmas cards I had into those I can remake next year and some to pass on to a friend for her friends to remake. I also sorted the Chrustmas craft stuff and put that away. Then I went down the garden where a very old honeysuckle had come away from where it was tied to the fence. A lot of ur was half dead so I cut it right back. I have put half the cuttings in the brown bin will have to do the rest another day as despite the sun my hands were frozen.. I also worked on planning a day out of a group of friends to Tetbury. Finally managed to find a town centre map to download. Another job was to break up another three boxes for recycling. Oh I did the Tesco shopping list as well.

Quiet on here again today.

I have cleaned the bedroom but not changed the bed and I am cross as we've had a lovely sunny day here with only just a breath of a breeze.

Good morning everyone, hard frost out there but only -1 again so not as cold as it has been. Slept well last night, finally woke 0715 but laid there until 0800 as it was chilly out of bed. nothing planned for today but lots of odd little jobs to do. I have an ongoing list,
