Morning all

It’s another grey day with rain promised for this afternoon and it’s still quite windy. I’m going through one of my regular spells of not sleeping much so feel very heavy headed and lethargic. I haven’t got any plans for the day. OH wants to go to our local, small garden centre for a couple of bits but I’m not sure whether I’ll go with him or not.

It’s a good job you got Asda sorted out Mel.

Morning Anng and all,

I just had an email from Asda saying not to forget my order but I had done it in the week and it was telling me to book a slot. Anyway I think I have sorted it but it took me three quarters of an hour.

Nice bright morning with blue sky and whispy white fluffy clouds scudding across onthe wind and its 9 degrees.

Hoping BIL comes today as he did say he was coming this week to start sorting the shed.

good morning all. 7 degrees here so far and feels a bit chilly sky is cloudy bright. slept ok but lots of dreaming that I can;t remember except I woke up feeling really sad and I hate that.

Tesco delivery this morning but nothing else planned for today. could do a bit more tidying in the garden if it doesn't rain I suppose.

Just googled I see what you mean. Confused.com

SuffolkVera Report 24 Mar 2023 19:49

Even more confusing if you google pronunciation of Maya. Seems it can be pronounced every which way :-D

SuffolkVera

SuffolkVera Report 24 Mar 2023 19:26

Surprised you feel confused AnnG as that’s how I would have pronounced it. Well, it’s a pretty name however it’s pronounced.

AnninGlos Report 24 Mar 2023 17:30

Just been informed by daughter that Maya is pronounced Miya. So we are both confused by that. Apparently it was the 9th most popular girls name in 2022.

Well, we've had the lot this afternoon - rain, sun, wind, thunder, rainbows. All we need now is a bit of snow and fog and we will have had all the seasons in one day.

Needless to say, I haven't got into the garden. I had a shower and hair wash and then went through one of our files, getting rid of old stuff and generally tidying it up. Then I had a chat on the phone with one of my friends and we put the world to rights. Now I'm dithering: it's a bit late for an afternoon cuppa but a bit early for a glass of wine. No, it's never too early for wine so I shall go and pour a glass and think about starting to cook dinner.

Lol to be honest Vera, when I read that post back I didn't have a clue what that was supposed to say.
I did have about 20 minutes in the garden this morning pulling out all the dead clematis so the new stuff could grow and spread, I think that is all the clematis plants done now.
I admit to not doing any housework but I have almost run out of time now as I have to be ready before 2pm. I did battle my way down the road to the post box to post a card for the baby. Luckily I had made it in advance as we knew it was a girl.

Mel yes the baby is 7 Ozs heavier than daughter's eldest boy was. (He was 6 weeks early).

Just lost a post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats on your new step granddaughter Anng and such a pretty unusal name. She is just 4oz more than my son when he was born 54 years ago.

I have hand a shower and hoovered the kitchen area and a bit under the table where I sit and drop crumbs. Swept outside the back door which had all leaves blown in and degritted the rubber mat. Varnished a motto ware jug and washed up and had to take my cardy off as I got quite hot. Think thats about enough HW for today but I may wash those boxes down and see if I can find another lead for the iron before putting the boxes back. I hate that corner.

Lovely news AnnG. Congratulations to them all. She is quite small but the main thing is she is OK. I like her name.

I also had a smile at your post yesterday and it kept me occupied puzzling out what "ah Jitendra warm" was meant to be :-S

Mandy, I have heard of Asafoetida though I've never bought it. Maybe I should get some to try as I have to be very careful with onions although I love them.

Gosh Mel, you were lucky your lead didn't spark and set fire to the boxes in front of the plug. Please be careful. I wonder what you'll find in the third box.

It's about 13 degrees and there was a bit of sun this morning but it's all cloudy again now and computer says heavy rain to start soon. There is still quite a strong, chilly wind. I've had a h/w morning - boring but necessary.. Not sure yet what I'll do after lunch. I should probably do a bit in the garden but it sounds as though it's going to be raining and I also think a morning of h/w has punished my back enough for one day.

Well life is full of surprises. This one is a nice one. That baby due on 14th april when I am up in the Lake district decided it couldn't wait any longer. so my Step Great Granddaughter has arrived at just after 3am today.

Maya Elizabeth was born at just after 3am this morning 5lb7Oz. We knew she was going to be small by the scans but she is fine and from her photo she is beautiful. I now have to wait two weeks before I can meet her.

Morning Anng and Mandy and all,

Got up at 6.11am and went back to bed and woke at 9am so Iv'e have a good sleep. The suns shining and pc says mostly cloudy and 8 degrees and its windy out as I can see the trees moving quite a bit.

Think BIL may come today so I better get myself showered and ready and then I am going to open the third box to see what delights are in that one. I'll let you know if the things are any good or being chucked out.

Yes Anng your post did make me laugh, I thought to myself she on the ipad as I know you've said before it has a mind of it own.

I sometimes look up and see lots of gibberish but its my fingers that cause the problem as thye race ahead of what I am going to type and the words come out wrong.

Better get on see you all later.

Morning all,

Lol Anng it did make me smile ,all sorts comes up on my ipad it makes me laugh with some of the words it puts up .

Lovely blue sky here and sun but it's very windy so I've got some washing out as we should have showers later so I'm hoping it will get dry before then.
Not a lot planned for today ,bit of dusting maybe as the sun shows it all up and I have some ironing laying there so that needs doing .

Oh Mel I'd chuck that extension lead out you were lucky it didn't catch fire ,but on the plus side you did find some treasures in the box ,I wonder what you'll find in the other box.

Good morning all. Lol Mel. I wish that was what came down in the rain each time. I had to read back to see what you meant and what a load of gibberish that post was. I was on the Ipad and it looked fine before I actually posted it but obviously something glitched. I will have to double check in future.

It is a lovely sunny morning here but only 7 degrees and it still looks windy. I have the morning free then being picked up at 2pm to go to Photography group.

Do you get £30 every day Anng????????

I hav'nt been able to get into anything today. I did the post van first thing and then could'nt get around to anything much. Did a little tidying as I think BIL is comeing tomorrow and painted one jug.

It was quite bright this morning and when I went to corn the chickens this afternoon there were 4 female pheasents about so I gave them a bit of corn too. I think they will come each day now but I don't want them round the back steps where I go down as they poo all over the place.

Then I felt cold as its been quite windy today and like Vera said it was very cold. Thought I would warm myself up doing a bit of ironing. Started and did one pillowcase and heard this fizzing noise, thought I must be rubbing the wire up soemthing. Did the next top, fizzing again now and then. Did a polo neck top still fissing. Thought it was the iron but after the next item I thought I would wait and see where the noise was coming from. It was the extension lead which I plug the iron into so I went to unplug the iron and the plug was hot so I had to take three plastic boxes out of the corner and a pile of egg trays and some solar chicken lights to get to the plug and turn it off. I shall now have to find another extension lead to plug the iron into before I put the htree boxes back. I did go through two of the boxes as they were what oh brought down from the loft years ago. Found all my felt and material and lace in one box and old chair backs and doilies in another. I hav'nt tackled the third box yet I'm saving that till tomorrow.

Still not eaten yet and its 9.01pm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All I have had today is two bowls of cornflakes.

Weather has been strange here too. Sunshine and very windy most of the day until abour £.30 when it chucked it down with heavy rain. Cold indoors again after a few days when it has been ah
Jitendra warm. I didn’t get a cold neck as my friend d picked me up and we went to the local garden centre for lunch. Bought a large bag of compost, they put it I. The car for me then the two of us managed to get it out and into the garage so that one of the grandsons can carry it to the greenhouse next week. Hi
