Breakfast sounds nice mel but I would have to have an egg. I suppose that would be a bit 'coals to newcastle' for you. Good raffle prize. Not going to drink all that on your own I hope!!
I have sort of pottered this morning. written up some notes ready to re-write in an email to the photography group and for the U3a web site, vacuumed and dusted downstairs, Got a card ready for Grandson's birthday next Friday and written name and address in permanent marker on the brown garden bin as the council is not sending out labels this year and the bin men need to check if we have paid.

Back from my big breakfast. I had one hash brown 2 sausages, 2 bacon, half a tomato, beans and mushrooms, two slices of brown bread and butter and on the second slice I had marmalade and a big glass of fresh orange juice. Brought home the bacon fat for Robby and the bread crusts for the girls.
Full to the gills now. Forgot to take my pills with me so I am going to take those now.
I bought three strips of raffle tickets and won a large bottle of Italian Prosseco. BIL had given me the money for the breakfast so I got the raffle prize with the three tickets I bought £1 a strip. Its a very long while since I have had a raffle prize for any of the funtions up at the village hall.

Morning Anng and all,
I hope Mandy feels better tis morni ng and that Vera's head has cleared. It is a good idea to change to the other pharmacy if it nearer and if you don't have to get a bus to get there should the car breakdown again. Any news on when the car is comeing back.
Its the same temp here today as you Anng 6 degrees and we have sunshine and blue sky at present but pc says rainy days ahead and it did rain last night.
For the breakfast thats the choice we have it dos'nt mean we have to have everything.
Better post tis before I lose it.

Good morning all. Slept well last night. 6 degrees here this morning, the temperature does yo-yo up and down lately.Cloudy bright with a small patch of blue sky out there. Nothing planned for today except Tesco delivery 3-4pm. So I shall see what the day (and my ever growing list) brings.

Thanks Mandy for the photo of Jake. Don’t worry about short posts. Just get yourself better we understand.
Mel that is a huge breakfast I don’t think I could eat it all if it was put i. Front of me. Still I hope you and BiL enjoyed it.
What a shame if the lady now feels she has to sell the bungalow. Sad that he died so soon.Ann.
Vera hope the headache and blurry eyes soon improve. A good idea to move to a pharmacy in walking distance might save a few bus trips.

A short post from me tonight again as I have a headache and my eyes are sore so I don't want to be looking at the screen for long. I have managed to read through today's posts which are always interesting.
This morning I decided I needed to gradually work my way through the house and do a bit of a spring clean. I started with my en-suite thinking it would only take me a couple of hours. It took me nearly all day and I still haven't washed the floor. There are a few cupboards which all had to be emptied, washed out and contents sorted and I was very thorough with the rest of the room. It's not as though it was really dirty anyway as I try to keep the kitchen and the bathrooms clean even when the rest of the place is going to pot.
I've tried ringing the pharmacy a couple of times today to check they have got my tabs but no-one answers the phone so I shall have to get the bus into town tomorrow and hope to get them. I chose to have my scripts dealt with by this chemist as it was opposite the place we used to meet our friends for coffee on Thursdays so was convenient but I think I will change to our nearest one which is a 10-15 minute walk from home. It's just a very small offshoot of Boots.
Eyes are going blurry now so I am going to close the computer. Hope you all sleep well and you feel OK when you get up in the morning Mandy.

Its cooked by the village hall committee memberss. You get sausage, egg, toms, bacon, hash brown beans and toast butter and jam or marmalade and as much tea or coffee as you want. Its always good and it means another day of not cooking as I usually have a bowl of cornflakes or cheese and biccies in the evening.
BIL bought pasties in for our lunch and a sausage roll so I shall have that tonight and then some fruit.

I find hygeine doesn't seem to be on OH's minds. Not long after we moved here I caught OH wiping the sink draining board dry with the tea towel!! He puts things in the wrong places in the fridge too. He thinks if raw meat is in a sealed pack it doesn't matter what you place on top, but you have no idea what may have dripped on it or if raw meat has touched the outside. I'll probably get food poisoning if he ever has to look after me.
AnnG I think the bungalow will be up for sale again before very long as her husband passed away just after Christmas. It went up for sale after she had a stroke last year as she intended to move nearer her daughter, then her husband got Leukaemia and they took it off the market. I suspect whoever buys it may take down the lean to additions so that will be noisy. You asked whether my sister's ex kept our family photos because he was unpleasant and the answer is 'yes'. He took everything he could, including things that had been promised to each of us children for decades.
These feelings do sound awful Mandy so it's good it didn't happen today. Hopefully reducing the dose means you will gradually start feeling better. Well, Jake does look pleased holding his pass certificate doesn't he. Thanks for sending a pic. He.s looking tall now isn't he.
Stu's meal sounded nice Mel, but as you say, it was a pity you didn't know you would be having lamb again. I think it's my favourite meat.Do you set up seperate folders to sort your photos into? You could make one your miniature ideas, then you could find those quickly. I have one for painting ideas. The big breakfast tomorrow should be good. Who actually cooks it all?

Afternoon all,
Dreary here and we've had drizzle most of the morning, it doesn't seem that mild but the wind has dropped a bit .
Didn't have a funny turn this morning thank goodness but I felt dreadful when I first got up ,it has eased a bit through the morning and I did manage to get the slow cooker on with a piece of braising steak and veg in .
Sorry I'm not commenting much but by the time I've typed this much I've had enough .
I have a nice photo of Jake with his test certificate I'll send .

Annx I put up what we had for dinner at Stu's just before you posted. Funny thing is, and I did'nt tell him this, but the night before I had a nice lamb shank. Don't have them very often but treated my self this week. If I had known we were going to have lamb last night I could have put it in the freezer for another day.
BIL showed me how to clean up the C disc on the pc and where those things are on the D disc but I think I may have forgotten already........ :-(
The thing is I take pics of things I think I may make in miniature and if I need togo back to it for ref. if Iv'e put it on the D disc will I find it again? Anyway I shall delete some of the photos from years ago as I have all those up to 7. 2. 26. and that will give me more space. I did find today the pics oh took of the Kingfisher that came in the garden.

Mel, Stu needs a lesson in hygiene I think. I hope after boiling the dishcloths he doesn'e use the same pot for his cooking. The meal sounded nice anyway, I do like lamb. That was energetic after your meal washing down all the paintwork. Still better for you than a ciggie.
that cheered me up Ann, that is the sort of thing I don't look forward to. Good to get the prescription early for a change, they must have had a slack period to fill.
Mandy if It is anything like the other houses in this area it will take a while to sell, especially as it doesn't look very good. It needs a good sprucing up. It was always kept looking nice until just over a year ago when he went into hospital and it has been deteriorating since then.
Gwyn that was a performance with your Aunt's will (or not).

Morning All,
It's reached 10 degrees here now and dry, but we had a lot of rain last night.
Gwyn I love to sit and watch the insects around the flowers in the garden. They seem to have their favourites. I want to encourage more butterflies with what I plant this year as I really enjoyed seeing so many during the pandemic.
When I was aged over 7 after I'd done all the work for the 11 plus I used to sit in a classroom corner with the children that were slower learning to read and help them with the words they didn't know how to say. I used to really enjoy it and seeing their smiles when they remembered a word and looked pleased with themselves. It's such an important skill being able to read. OH's grandmother lived with him and his parents and taught him to read and he surprised me recently when he told me he could read actual books before he started school.
So what was on the menu at Stu's last night Mel? Not too much chilli hopefully. Is BIL going to look at your PC?
So you think the house will be sold and new neighbours move in AnnG. We had new neighbours at a bungalow a few doors away opposite side of the road just before the pandemic. Jean who lived there before kept it tidy and had people in to do the mowing and hedgecutting. The new people completely renovated it inside and made the built in garage into a dining room. Then they did the strangest thing by building timber lean tos the length of the bungalow each side with roofing felt covering the roofs, which meant building one around an existing shed. A relative did it for them in his spare time and it took months of banging and sawing.
Oops better finish later as OH is ready to go out.

O I did'nt tell you what we had for dinner klast night. Stu did lamb steaks with carrots red cabbage peas and roasties with a lamb gravy which James made. Its funny not going out after dinner for a ciggy so instead I wiped all his window frames down in the kitchen. I must say they were a bit black mouldy but were gleaming by the time I left. He thanked me and was looking for a special cork to put back in the bottle of wine and he took all the tea towels out and pout them on the floor!!!!!! Not one of them was folded up they had been put in the draw as they came out oft the dryer and some were a bit damp still. He said it was Abi when she wanted to use the dryer she would just empty it and put them in the draw not noticing if they were dry or not. There was also 6 dish clothes that all looked a bit grey so I told him to boil them in a drop of water with a dessert spoon of washing powder. leave them in for a while to cool and rinse them and he would be surprised how clean they would come up.

Oh well done Jake. :-D So pleased for you.
I had a very early start and a busy full-on day yesterday, so didn't get on the boards, but I did send him a Good Luck thought about 7 a.m so am delighted he got the news he wanted. Well done to sister Katie too. One of my daughters did a similar course and really enjoyed it. There is so much more involved these days, so learning all the different aspects will be so interesting. Mandy I hope those horrid feelings stop and your chat with the doctor on Tuesday finds a positive way of moving forward with your treatment.
Several of you have been busy in your garden. Well done ladies. When it is not quite so soggy out there, we need to again tackle the ivy, which is doing it's best to take over. I know the birds like it in the winter months, so I don't mind some remaining, but it's taking liberties now :-|
AnnG how sad to see how your neighbour's house and even garden were so stripped. I know this happens and I still feel sad thinking of what family memories were thrown away, after my Dad's last sibling died. She had been keen on home crafts and did lovely embroidery, but it all was cleared, likewise any family photos and paperwork. It all got a bit messy towards the end of her life, when her so called 'friend' took over running her life and told people that my aunt had no family, so she made all the decisions. We had to get a solicitor involved as she was actually quite close to her 6 nieces and had a nephew too. Unfortunately my aunt had supposedly left a Will naming the 'friend' as beneficiary and she got the bungalow and cleared it before the case got sorted, although within a day or so of the death, their solicitor told our solicitor that there was no Will, then magically a couple of days later, one turned up, a homemade affair, which was very suspect. It was all very underhand :-( :-(
Anyway, when it's all settled, I hope you have lovely new neighbours. They can make such a difference to day-to-day life.
Vera, What a saga with your repeat prescriptions. I remember how you used to say how good it was. Why do they have to change things? :-| :-| Good to hear that OH is continuing to improve and manage things about the house, Good that he is actually interested in more too, even if this means you sometimes can't get on so well ;-) Hopefully, when the weather improves, he can potter outside more.
Annx, You certainly got to see a good variety of places in UK., when travelling for your husband's work. It's intesting to find out about places and explore them, that wouldn't be on your usual list for visiting. A shame you couldn't find anything you wanted in the sale, but it's only a save of money, if you really want something.
Mel Your meals with Stu sound good and it's interesting to hear what he puts in his homemade sauce for the chicken. You seem to have been quite busy with your miniatures. What time in history are your new makes?
A dull start with showers forecast and laptop telling me it's 10 degrees and cloudy. If it brightens up, a walk would be good. On Tuesday, when I went and it was lovely and sunny, I saw a huge bee having a wonderful time in a local garden, where it was going from flower to flower on a patch of self-set bright purple violets :-D

Morning all,
When I got up it was dull and dreary that was at 7.20am to I went back to bed for a lie in. Got up at 7.40am and the sun was coming out.Its quite bright now and pc says partly sunny and 10 degrees. BIL is coming today as I rang him last night and its our Big Breakfast at the village hall tomorrow so he will come the]n too as its my turn to pay.
Mandy I hope the half strength pill will work for you and take away those nasty turns you've been experiencing. Keeping fingers crossed it works this time. Its strange when they tell you one thing and the instrutions tell you something else.

good morning 12 degrees here and dry at the moment. It rained yesterday evening and probably over night I think today is supposed to be mainly dry.
I suspect the house next door will be going up for sale. I imagine that it might need a lot doing to it. I am not looking forward to new owners and so many people these days buy a house with the intention of having it altered. That one is 3 beds and is the same as cynths the other side of me. But Cynth's is now 4 bed as they had it extended and the integral garage made into a utility room and dining room. The thought of builders next door is a bit concerning. So I shall have to hope for an older couple maybe downsizing. The garden has nothing going for ir. It does have a greenhouse but no flower beds except right by the house and is the same size as mine.

Sorry Mandy, fancy me putting Chelsea when I know she got herself a job a little while ago! So well done Katie! I still think of her as a little girl but time goes by so quickly and they are growing up like you say. It's good the doctor phoned you at last and thinks the same as you about the tablets and will see you on Tuesday. I hope you soon feel better as it is quite scary feeling strange like that.
AnnG it sounds like they whirred into action to clear your neighbour's house and garden. There must have been a lot to fill two big vans. Mind you it filled a big van when the chap cleared MIL's house and we had already been filling both of our cars to take things away for a few weeks. I wonder whether the house will go up for sale next.
Fingers crossed there's not a lot of chilli tonight then Mel. I like to add bits and pieces to gravies/sauces too to add more flavour. Years ago when I used to make sausage rolls I would often add chopped onion and a dash of worcester sauce to the sausagemeat.
I'm late to bed tonight, but we've already decided lay in a while with our first cuppa tomorrow. I'm off now and to read more of 'Entitled'. It's quite amazing up to now. Imagine having a dressing room that is 50 feet wide and 100 feet long. That's about as big as this bungalow and the front and back garden!

Yes it was Katie Ann they are all growing up so fast , thank you Jake was so pleased I would have loved to have seen the big smile on his face I meant to say that it's good OH hasn't got to go back and can reduce the drops , hopefully he's now going in the right direction.
Vera pleased your OH is feeling a lot better ,I thought it didn't seem very mild when I went down to the shed and when I came in Colin had lit the fire .
Anng looks like you'll soon have a new neighbours, goodness they sound as if they were taking anything that wasn't screwed down , sad when everything's just cleared away .
Mel hope you enjoy you'd meal tonight .
I had the doctor ring me a while ago and she told me it could be the higher dose thats causing it and said it might be to much to soon and on an empty stomach ,but those tablets you are suppose to have half an hour before a meal , anyway I now have to go down to the 10mgs again so I have to half the tablet ,I have to take my blood pressure if I have a funny turn and start taking my blood pressure twice a day until I have a face to face with her on Tuesday .

Yes it is nice not having to cook Annx. You never know what you are going to get but its usually nice as long as he dos'nt put too much chilli in things. He's a great ne for mixing up a sauce for chicken, he uses mayo, barb b q sauce, sage thyme wholegrain mustart and french mustard and other things too sometimes. I think it was Katie who had the interveiw not Chelsea.
Just washed my hair and its now got a will of its own and won't go where I want it to. O well its clean anyway, I shall put hat on and hide it up.
Better get on and get dressed ready for tonight.

Sorry I was sidetracked and missed your post Vera. I'm glad your OH is feeling better and that the antibiotics are doing the trick. What a performance with your meds though. I hope you manage to get the missing one tomorrow or Saturday. Imagine if you had to keep paying for taxis! We called to get OH's meds from the chemist yesterday morning. I had done an online request for mine the night before and they say to wait 3 working days before collecting them. On the unlikely chance they might have them I told OH to ask and they did which amazed me after only requesting them the evening before.
I seem to have lost motivation with the garden and have things like the fuschias that still need cutting back and the greenhouse needs sorting out too and don't mention weeds!
It's a shame you can't find a cooker like you want, but I am finding the same with the bathroom and I really need to crack on with it.
