I was half dressed on the top but I still had my jim jam bottoms on, at least I had my teeth in!!!!!!!!!!
Iv'e not got anything one again today either Annx. Dos'nt it annoy you when you get the chance and then don't take it while they're out? Put it down to it being an Easter holiday.
I did'nt tell you I dressed the windowsill for Easter. I have all my eggs and egg cups chickens and hares etc. I think it looks good and it cheers me up.

Evening All,
My word the Dave storm has been causing a lot of wind here since late morning! It's been quite sunny though. OH went to the match with his pal and I have been Mrs 'Dolittle'. Just not in the mood and yet I could have got lots done while OH was out. I have done a wash though, or rather the washing machine did! Doesn't it annoy you when you log onto a site, click on a window in it and then can't get back? Often you can click the window closed and you are back to where you were, but not today as it took me off the site and when I tried to log back in it wouldn't let me. Now I can't contact them till Tuesday! :-S
Yes I get a lot of questions Mel. He'll say 'I'll let you get on' then five minutes later asks what's for lunch and then back to ask when will we be having it. Then he comes in to empty the litter bin or do some shredding or printing and tells me the neighbour has gone out (do I need to know that.....no!) Then like you say, they never know where anything is and often he's been the last to use it and you have to get up and look yourself. I'm so lucky he's still around, but he does put the brakes on me getting things done and now more of his work is home based he's around more to chat or is talking loudly on the phone which is disruptive as well. I'm sure he still thinks he is doing his job before he retired and is addressing a large room of people.
You undressed again when BIL came round? He must wonder what he's going to find when he arrives! It's good the mower is fixed now and nice that you think there are Robin chicks. Do you know where the nest is?
Does your leg appear to have healed from looking at it AnnG? You must be fed up with it keep being painful. Did Jake get the fairy's water feature fixed for you? I'm surprised you and Vera still need appointments at the tip/dump! Ours stopped after covid, but appointments do avoid build ups at busy times. I'd never thought how they must have to check number plates and presumably they ask for them when you book a slot.
Better get another load in the washer now.

BIL just gone I gave him lunch and he had done the mower and we were saying goodbye on the patio when Robby flew ddown so I gave him 4 worms and he took two away with him so he is either feeding babies or his wife who is sitting. I gave him some more and he took three away this time so I think it must be chicks. :-D :-D :-D

Good morning all 9 degrees here quite bright. Nothing planned for today except Tesco 3-4pm. Probably just a pottering day again. I did get a bedroom drawer sorted yesterday, it is the one I keep 'holiday' stuff in so sun cream and lots of small bottles/containers of shampoo and shower gel etc.Had to chuckle, in my search for the 'pefect' purse to hold notes, cash, cards and bus pass and still fir in my coat top zip pocket there were ten discarded purses so 5 of those are for charity as they are almost unused. (and don't fit the posket comfortably. Anyway that drawer is tidy now for a while.

I always found I could get more done if oh was out, no interuptios or asking if you have something or where this and that or can you hold this. Or I just get ready for what I wanted to make and he'd decide we were going out.
I made cornflake cakes today with eggs on the top. Not many eggs in the packet I bought so they only have two on top insteaad of three. I am going to make chocolate brownies next.

Afternoon All,
A dull day now but there was a bit of sun this morning. OH walked to pay the papers and we both did a short stint in the garden again while lunch was cooking. If we keep it up (rain permitting) the bin should be full for the next collection
Your doc may not give you pantoprazole as you say Mel, but like Vera said, it might be a good idea to see your doctor about your throat now it doesn't seem the smoking was causing the soreness. If the camera uses a card, they are usually next to the battery under the sliding cover. You will just see the thin edge of it and will need to just press on the edge of it to release it. If your PC doesn't have a slot to slide it in I think you can get USB adaptors to use. I much prefer the cards to the cables for downloading photos. If it has a card it will be interesting for you to see what photos are on it.
It's a shame your leg keeps giving you pain AnnG, so it's sensible to have it checked by the doctor when you get home after your stay. I hope it stays fine for Jake to get the garden job done for you.
Mandy you are good at finding the bargains and the Aldi veg you got certainly are. Our Co-op had signs up saying they were open all Easter including Sunday, but most will shut as you say. We didn't manage to get up soon enough to be early at M&S so might try tomorrow.
I see your daughter got some bargain veg too Gwyn. That was a good game for the children to find the pictures especially as the children in wheelchairs could join in. Yes, I was pleased to get such a good win. Years ago when I think I was moving house and got a sum of money I wouldn't need for about six months I bought the maximum amount of premium bonds which I think was 30,000 then and in the next six months before I needed to cash them in I won NOTHING! This time I seem to have luckier numbers with the last ones I've bought. The prizes are due to be going down in value though.
OH is going to be at matches the next three days, so shall I stay in and get a lot done with him being out, or shall I go out with my camera? Maybe check the weather forecast first!

If the camera has a serial number Mel let us know and we can see if we can find anything out about it. If it is digital it will probably need a card to store photos but you should still be able to see photos on the sccreen.

Morning girls,
Not very nice here this morning its grey and when I got up the bedroom window looked wet. Yes there's that horrid fine rain in the air and pc is saying rainy days ahead and 11 degrees I suppose we are now in for April showers although I think March had most of them.
That was very good of Ernie to give you all that! You must have blocks like my grandad had as he was always having wins on Ernie. I have one my nan bought me as a child but don't know where it went and its probably not registered to this address since moving here in 1991. I may ask about the Pantoprazole but I don't think she would give them to me if they act in the same way. She just told me to use Gavicon. I tried that once before but it did'nt seem to work for me. What worries me is that I still have this raw feeling throat which I have had for years now and thought that was caused by smoking.
Sorry you had another bad night Anng with your leg. I hope you get some answers when you go to the doc about it.
Gwyn that was a lovely hunt for the chiclren to do. We never had anything like that when I was at school just the usual making of an Easter card for our parents. I do remember my son having to make a badge for a Chritmas at school and Making a hat. His was a bolwer hat I covered in cotton wooland put a red light in the top and a switch on the side so he could turn it on and off. Don't remember what else went on it. The bowler hat was one of those thick sort of papermache type cardboard ones we'de had one Christmas at mum and dads.
Mandy hope the hams turn out as nice as the ones you did before.
The dinnner at Stu's last night was what he calls chilli but it was really just mince with garlic, paprika, babeque sauce and dion mustard and wholegrain mustard and some kind of seasoning. All I could taste was the sauce as it was quite sweet but it went down ok with chps and egg fried rice. His son had gone off to Turkey for a week with a friend so there was only Stu his brother Joel and I for dinner.
Coming back to the camera I found up in the wardrobe I think it must have been one oh had before the bigger one he bought. I will have to have a look in the study as I put his camera in it case up on top of the wardrobe in there. It a lot bigger than the one he bought my and you cna change the lens by turning the front bit which you can't do on mine. I did put the battery on charge to see if it worked but have no idea if it needs a card or you just plug it into the pc.

Mandy You got some bargain veg there :-) Daughter bought a swede, spring onions and shallots in Lidl the other day and paid 20p in total :-0 It's a bit out of the way for our usual shop, so she just got a few things, when her work took her over that way. We will probably buy some more root veg somewhere and keep them in a cool place, as you did at Christmas time. They lasted well for us and were useful for soups etc.

Morning all,
Very cloudy again but bright so I hope the sun can make an appearance later . Nothing planned for today will just see how it goes . On Good Friday the shops use to close at lunch time now its just another day ,I think all the supermarkets are closed on Sunday .
Gwyn it must have been lovely seeing the children all excited over hunting for clues and getting an egg at the end , I miss doing the easter egg hunt here for the grandchildren ,this will be the first year we haven't bought eggs for them ,we asked if they would like eggs or money and they all said money please , so if they decide they would like an egg they can chose what they want. I got some of ths cheap veg in Aldi yesterday , 4p for a bag carrots and 4p for a bag of onions , oh and I got parsnips too .

I hope you've had enough rest to see you through the day, AnnG, Yes, Good Friday in my childhood days was rather like a Sunday,as well. We always ate fish on that day too, which is something I still do.
Mel, Sorry to read of your pain. It would certainly be worth having a chat with your doctor about this. That sounds quite uncomfortable.
Vera, Lovely that you found time to meet up with your friends for coffee. It's always good to chat.
Annx Ernie seems to favour you quite often, but has excelled himself this time . Well done! I hope you have luck with the jackets for OH.
Yesterday was the last day of term at school until 20th. They are lucky to have quite large playing fields within their grounds, so yesterday morning towards break time, each child was given a sheet of paper with a grid of boxes drawn on it. The reception class was allowed out first to run around and look for pictures of rabbits somewhere in the grounds, - on the side of a shed, behind a classroom etc. and at each one, they collected a different coloured sticker and put it in one of their grid boxes. When all the boxes were filled, they took their paper into the hall and traded it for a boxed Easter egg. It was lovely to see all the classes join in gradually and run around searching. The children in wheelchairs were helped by staff, but the children still did most of the spotting. In the afternoon, there was an Easter bonnet parade with the children wearing hats made at home, but I didn't stay for that, as I'd promised to let the dog out, at the house where my daughter is 'dog sitting' for a few days.
Dull and overcast here today, but still dry at the moment. :-) :-)

Ah yes Vera there was a man as we went in with a clip board so that is the answer then. I hope I can get a better sleep although the last two nights it was my leg that woke me with the pain. Reading about leg pain there are several things it could be and I must eventually get it checked out.
Ann Oh yes some of my scars go Keloid and bumpy and there is nothing you can do to prevent it.
In my house when I was young Good Friday was treated like a Sunday. Nowadays it is no different to any other day.

Too much sugar for me too Mandy but you are very good to cook for your son and family. It's funny how we all have different ways of cooking things. Sometimes I just wrap my gammon loosely in foil and roast it in the oven. Other times I boil it in water with an onion studded with cloves and a couple of bay leaves. I wish I could find more time to cook. I did make a tuna and cheese quiche today and it was so much nicer than buying one in the shop. Did you enjoy your chilli tonight Mel?
I hope your arm isn't too sore where the stitches were so tight AnnG. Hopefully you will be more comfortable and able to get a better sleep tonight.
I'm sorry that you are still getting digestion problems Mel. It's probably worth having another word with your doctor. Even if he/she won't give you the tablets back they might tell you what foods to avoid and what are OK for you to eat.
I am glad the beeping in the car has stopped now Annx. It does make you anxious when you hear noises and don't know what they are. You are right, you can learn a lot from old gravestones.
On Monday OH was booking an appointment at our nearest tip as we have a lot of stuff to get rid of. He called out to ask if Friday was OK and I said yes but I had forgotten it is Good Friday. Now I wish we had made it for next week as it somehow feels wrong to me to be going to dump our rubbish on that particular day. When lockdown ended our council had an online survey to see if people wanted to go back to the free for all or keep the appointment system going and the overwhelming majority wanted to keep appointments. There is a man at the entrance with a clipboard and he checks your number plate against his list.
I had a little break this morning as we went for our Thursday coffee. 6 ladies and 3 men this week. I was feeling a little down and the break cheered me up. I've been busy this afternoon again and am feeling a little tired now so I think it's time to take my book to bed. Sleep well ladies.

Evening All,
A lovely day here, very springlike and warm. :-) We both did a bit in the garden cutting back shrubs that were galloping over the stone edging, but we both soon had aches, but at least 2 humpers were filled and emptied in the garden bin.
ERNIE excelled himself and gave me £600 which was good and made up for the previous three months of £25 each time. The neighbour who is getting a puppy was outside painting her gate this morning and said she is having a girl Cavapoo this time, probably in June if all goes well.
OH applied to renew his driving licence about 7 weeks ago and has heard nothing so rang them today. He got a message saying they were busy and the waiting time was one and a half hours!!! He put the phone down and managed to find an email address for them online so emailed them. They rang him back just before 7.00pm. He then got put through to their medical department who said they needed to know whether his eye inflammation was at the back of his eye which it isn't. so said they could pass his application on to those who issue the licences but couldn't give any idea when he would get it. We can't understand why it mattered as you can drive with just one eye anyway and he's passed his last eye test and has them every year. OH said he wonders how much longer it would have been before they had asked him if he hadn't emailed them. He's still waiting to start his treatment after having the xray and blood tests weeks ago. He phoned the nurse at the Hospital last week and she said she'd phone him back the next day but didn't!
AnnG I bet you are glad to be released from the stitches and may have a better night tonight as they were tight, although you may be sore with the area that bled. It's good it's a neat job too. I am lucky as scars from stitches on my arm years ago are flat and almost invisible, but a friend gets those raised red ones.
Vera that was a bargain you got with the meat sub and with your other shopping. Much the same as AnnG's daughter got with her meat. I hope you have managed to send all the emails and do what you needed to for now. You've been busy so have some rest too.
No beeping from the car today either Mandy so it must have been the carwash! I bet the family will appreciate you thinking to offer to cook them some gammon for them. It's lovely how you help each other. I hope Jake's car is back on the road with a new tyre now and that your son's is fixed too.
Mel, OH has been taking a similar thing with the same small risk called Pantoprazole since before he retired over 16 years ago. Since his cardiac arrest and all the tablets he needs to take now his doctor has doubled his dose of Pantoprazole to protect his stomach from the tablets. I looked the PPI inhibitors which is what they are and studies done when he started on them and knew about the risk, but having acid reflux left untreated has much the same small risk as acid creeps into the esophagus, especially when lying down, and can cause changes that can lead to cancer. Did he tell you that they can reduce what your stomach absorbs from your food like calcium? We thought OH's (unusual for a man) osteoporosis might have been caused by it, but the rheumatologist said it would have been caused by the inflammation from the inflammatory arthritis. Is the Canon camera the same one you had for Christmas once?
We need to be up early tomorrow as I've suggested we go to M&S down the road. OH wants a new suit now his weight is steady, as the ones he has are far too big. They don't have any with single vented jackets, but at least he can try some suit jackets on to see what size he will need now!
