Hallo ladies
I am still in the land of the living but the last few days have been so hectic that I haven't had a moment to do a proper post. I have read everyone's posts in bed late at night so I have seen what you have all been up to. I will try in the next day or two to tell you all that's been going on from our friend's funeral on Friday to yesterday when my very own Mr Accident-In-Waiting managed to fall off a step ladder outside so we were at the hospital till 1.30 this morning. Thankfully, he is OK so we were able to come home. Sunny here but with a cold wind. Enjoy the sun if you've got it. I'll be back soon.

Meant to say two subs returned my coffee and I also returned my butter as I had ordered unsalted by mistake and Jim bless him said he's not supposed to refund that as thats what I ordered but he did so I got £10.26 off my bill.

No wind here and its 13 degrees and has got brighter although still cloudy out the front.

Shopping did'nt come till just before 1pm so it has put me all behind and I am trying to make a new mould of a lemon squeezer the old fashioned type.

Morning Anng, morning all,

We've had a little rain , the roads all wet but I can't see many puddles so we couldn't have had that much and it's not raining now just very cloudy , I have a load of washing in the machine so I'm hoping it brightens up so I can hang them out ,there's a bit of thd day wind as I can see the branches on trees moving about but at the moment the sky looks a bit grey .
We want to get the canes in today ready for the runner beans if it is dry ,they have all shot up in the pots and I've put them in the greenhouse and outside during the day.

Anng hope it stays dry for your walk to the hairdressers .

Ann , hope you've got to your blood test appointment and manage to get sorted with your photo at Timsons .

Oh Mel Dandelion wine ,don't think I'd fancy that as they do smell but they make wine with so many different fruits and plants ,mum and dad use to make wine with different fruits .

Better get hoovered through first them hopefully we can get the jobs done in the garden .

Good morning all 9 degrees and cloudy here at the moment and it looks windy again too. I have to walk to the hairdressers for 12 o'clock appointment., hoping we don't get the much needed rain during that time.
Ann you have been and are busy with medical appointments. My next appointment is on 9 May for my Covid vac,

Mandy yes, so many dandelions and they grow so big before you realise they are there. wonder why they are drought resistant.

hope Vera is gettting all her jobs done now and is able to get some sleep too.

Evening All,

Another sunny day but a few spots of rain briefly this afternoon. Been busy with appointments and jobs and I have a walk in blood test from 8.00am tomorrow, then covid jab on Wednesday and OH has a Nurse visiting on Wednesday too to bring his new treatment and show him how to inject it. I see you are busy with your gardens and AnnG is getting Jake to do some jobs. Your cues will soon be climbing now Mandy. I must say the the LED strip light that the electrician put in our garage is brilliant and gives more light than the spotlights in the kitchen! I wonder what Mel will do with the box seedlings when they are bigger.

Off to bed early now so I can hopefully be up and showered to be at the docs by 8.00am. Then we are off to Timsons as we didn't get chance this morning.

I have never seen Dandilion flowers as big as some I have this year. I m\ade wine with the flowers one year as they were all over the smaller front lawn. Can't remember what it tasted like if we ever drank it all all.

Still no Annx

MillymollyAmanda Report 27 Apr 2026 18:26

We've had a lot of dandelions ,shame we have to pull them up as they are a pretty little flower really ,nice and bright in the sunshine but they do smell a bit .

AnninGlos Report 27 Apr 2026 17:58

You just beat me Mandy. It has been hot and sunny all day but a few clouds around now.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 27 Apr 2026 17:56

Well I went out there after I had lunch to weed the front garden, so many dandilions and thistles, I had not noticed the four thistles all growing in a clump. Actually I couldn’t get the eeeds up easily really need to have a go after it rains, when it does.
I also tied back a climbing rose and untangled it from a clematis.

Evening all,

Yes we've been in the garden most of the day ,I got all the cucumber plants in their big pots and then helped Colin as he wanted to repoint round a couple of manhole covers ,also did a load of washing but never got round to hoovering .
It was sunny at times and a bit warmer than yesterday but if really clouded over late afternoon and looked like it might pour down at one point but it brightened up again .
There's been loads of jets about today they are so noisy .
Son came first thing as we needed a few things ordered ,a bag of dog food ,a new hose for the shower and the kitchen light ,I've decided not to have the spot lights so we've ordered an LED long strip light .

We both feel worn out now and I was still awake at twelve last night with fidgets in my knees so it will be an early night for us .

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 27 Apr 2026 16:57

Its very quiet on here do you think we are all out in the garden?

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 27 Apr 2026 12:29

Jake and his Dad have been and fixed the electrics to the water feature so I can reach the on/off switch without having to crawl over and behind pota. They also gave the shrubs that needed it a good trim and dug out the dying rosemsry tree so the garden is looking tidy again now. They only charged me for the shrub strimming etc not the electrics which they have now put on a breaker.

I have done a bit more weeding where the Rosemary bush was, and also cut back a rampant clematis that was strangling a rose. and then found a piece of trellis that I needed to tie back that had obviously gor blown out of line by the wind.

good morning all. 12 degrees already. I didn't finally wake until 0815, late for me and Jake is coming today, although I don't have any idea what time. I got dressed quickly, 'just in case' Of course he will be later today but I couldn't risk it. Still I am up now
