Good morning all, a bit grey here with some weak sun 13 degrees. PC says cloudy!
Pleased that you had a good time with your family Vera, lovely to see the young ones especially the littlest one who sounds delightful.
I have heard of black pepper with strawberries but not tried it. The jam sounds interesting although strangely strawberry jam is not my favourite as it is usually too sweet. which, in itself is strange as I normally have a sweet tooth.
another nothing planned day although might have a check through some cupboards to locate any long unworn clothes that can take a walk to Irene's.

Black pepper is supposed to bring out the flavour of the strawberries Mel. I’ve never tried it myself but I have heard of it. I think balsamic vinegar is added sometimes too.

Well I have never heard of Strawberry and black pepper jam before you'll have to let us know what it is like.
Not done a thing this afternoon but did do up three parcels to post tomorrow this mroning. It took me so long to get all the labels right on the three different names and check the QR codes to make sure they were going to the right people.
Hope you all sleep well tonight and that your not so achey tomorrow Vera after that nasty tumble.

Good evening ladies
Well done on your 1st Mel. It sounds like a good day.
I am very envious of your veg Mandy. Our blueberries have been very good but our tomatoes are pathetic and even our herbs aren’t as good as usual.
So you have to make another trip to exchange OH’s jeans Annx. I look at some of these skinny jeans and sometimes think I wouldn’t even get an arm through there, let alone a leg. When I purchase something and get asked for an email address so the shop can send me a receipt I simply say I would like my receipt now please and I always get it. I do internet banking but only on the PC which never leaves the house. I won’t bank with my phone or iPad.
We have had a lovely weekend. The weather yesterday could have been better. It was overcast and although there were no heavy downpours there was a lot of drizzle. However the company was good, there was loads of excellent food and, in spite of the weather, everyone stayed till late. There were 3 little children there and they were so good playing together all day. Daughter had put up a small tent with toys and colouring things etc and they only emerged occasionallly. It was a joy to see everyone and catch up on all the news.
Our little great granddaughter is a delight, full of smiles and mischief. It was good to see she is being taught good manners already. If she has food she has to sit at the table to eat and not run around the room and she is expected to say please and thank you before she gets what she wants although at her young age she just repeats it after her parents but it’s a good start.
The only downside to yesterday was that, carrying a chair down the path, I managed to catch my toe and go flying landing on my front on the path but somehow rolling on to my back. I really am getting careless lately. Now my neck, shoulders and back ache like mad, I banged one elbow and both legs have several bruises and grazes. I consider I got away lightly. 2 friends have fallen recently and one dislocated her shoulder and the other broke her hip.
Daughter sent us home with 2 cartons of orange juice that weren’t opened yesterday, 2 packs of beans that came in her weekly veg box and she doesn’t like and 2 pots of homemade jam. One is strawberry and black pepper and one is gooseberry.
I’m hoping for a good night tonight as I must be up and dressed fairly early tomorrow. The painter is coming at 8 am. I hope you all sleep well too.

Afternoon all,
I hardly slept last night so lay in for a while this morning. It seemed muggy earlier and is overcast, but has become cooler now and just 19 degrees.
Yes I asked OH if it was what he did on all his dates .........forget his wallet! The chinos were perfect AnnG, but he also got some skinny jeans when we went last time as they didn't have any slim fit he'd had before in his size. It's the skinny jeans that are going back as they were so skinny they too skinny to be easy to take off! We are trying again to take them back tomorrow.
You are doing really well with your cues, toms and beans Mandy and able to give some away too. We won't risk doing banking on our phones either so just do it on our laptops. I always worry about losing my phone or it getting stolen. Little chance of getting it back then AnnG. I must read that article. Like you say you see young people even using their watches to pay for things these days. I often get asked if I want a receipt too and won't give shops my email to send me one any more as I've been bombarded with emails by some afterwards.
Well done getting a first Mel! I bet it was nice spending time at the show.
I need to go out and do some pruning or weeding to fill the garden bin more. All I've done today is have a quick hoover round. Maybe after I've had a COT though. :-)

Yes Anng it was a dressed one I bought but I can clean and dress one myself I know how to do it and where to find the poison sack .
Clouded over here a bit but we sat out and had coffee and it was quire comfortable, I had to move about three of my tomato pots that I had stood on the potting table ,I had tied them to OH's ladder on the back if the fence but the wind still caught them and tipped them so I moved three up the top near the conservatory ,I stood them in a big pot that we had put the spare runner bean plants in but they didn't really grow very well so I pulled them out the other day ,I put three big canes in the pot to help the tom plants to stand better ,they are loaded with toms so I didn't want them tipping over and dropping off, it's still left three on the potting table . The tumbling toms in my two hanging baskets are loaded and there's two now beginning to turn ,I have them hanging on the ladder on the back of the fence ,I even put a small cane in the basket to tie them up a bit so they can get more sun . The sun gold toms are turning and I picked a few yesterday ,so far I've picked thirty small cucumbers ,I have given some away but we do eat a lot of cucumber .

Mandy Mmm I would have enjoyed that crab. do they clean it for you?
I don't have my banking on my phone but it is on my Ipad. Some receipts do come to my emails but I do ask for a paper receipt too.
there was a report in the DM on line yesterday about what happens to mobile phones when they are stolen. forget about tracking them to get them back, before you know it they are in hong Kong and then china and there are places run like normal shops with thousands of phones on display even saying if they are locked or not.

Morning Anng ,morning all,
Nice and bright here suns shining but there is cloud about .
Well done on getting a first Mel ,shame you forgot your camera would have been nice to see the other things that were entered .
Anng yes we really enjoyed the Cromer crab, your garden must be so dry with no rain but it's marvellous how the weeds still spring up and grow like mad.
Oh thats annoying OH forgot his wallet Ann now you have another trip , it wouldn't have been a problem for the young ones they just seem to swipe their phones for everything these days ,I bet the receipts come up too as most places now ask would you like a receipt and they have all their cards on the phone ,and if you lose the phone ,your in a right muddle. I hummed and hard about Internet banking but I've got use to that now and that's just on my tablet not my phone.

Good morning all. 14 degrees light cloud cover, no wind, no rain. Nothing planned today, depends how hot but maybe a bit of weeding.
Mel well done on getting a first. Looks like you had a good day.
Ann annoying to get all the way to the shops to find OH had forgotten his wallet. did the chinos not fit? It never ceases to amaze me how M&S clothes (e.g. trousers, of different styles seem to not fit the same.
Mandy glad you got the crab ok, bet you enjoyed that.

I'm back and need a cuppa. I had to stay as you're not aloud to take your things out till after prize giving at 5pm. I had only two things in as I said, my Tudor man Gwian and his wife Emlyn. I got a first for Gwain and nothing for Emlyn. The second in my class was a lamp made out of a bottle and I can't remember what the third was and I forgot my camera. My nieghbour but one got a special prize for her Elderflower cordial and it was three pots of cake sprinkles and something else in a pretty box. I got a £1 for my one first. When you think its only 10p per entry its not surprising so many people put stuff in.
I did'nt win anything on the raffle with my three strips and I had a sausage in a roll with onion and tom sause.
Achy now and am going to have a cuppa.

It does sound like arthritis AnnG. My knees are worse first thing in the morning and OH finds his back and neck seem to be better after his walks. Fancy you having to wait till March for an appointment!! Things have certainly changed as you say. OH when visiting hospital he had always been to with his eyes earlier this year got a follow up appointment at a hospital seperate clinic the other side of the city miles away. It's not helpful for patients. I used to get trouble with my thumbs lifting heavy volumes down at work. I think it was my thyroid affecting joints then. They are ok most of the time now.
I missed you there Mandy. You will enjoy that crab you have had to wait for now! :-D It's good to get stocked up on some meat with the tomato sausages that sound nice too and be served by your grandson. It's good for trade that they were busy too and their meat must be popular.
Yes I've felt a bit less tired today but not done much. I find I can't relax or concentrate when workmen are here although they've all been no trouble, fairly quiet and cleaned up well afterwards. Monday and Tuesday the painters are here, just in the late afternoon. They won't be long on Monday as they are just leveling the edges of the ceiling where the coving was and filling holes in and it has to set then before they can sand and paint on Tuesday and it is a tiny room. Then there is just the window blind and and it will be finished then. I wonder how many squares you've done now, you are so quick. :-)

Mandy I have had a problem with my leg for over a year now, actually it is both legs but it is spasmodic so sometimes better than others. sitting or laying for too long stiffens them up sometimes walking eases it and sometimes makes it worse. so I suppose I should go to the GP if I can ever get an appointment. but given the appointments come up at 3 weeks now I will wait unti I have been to son's. I do get what I assume is arthritis in my thumbs, sometimes hands and shoulder so it could be that in my legs.

Afternoon All,
It was raining when I got up and OH said it had been raining in the night but it wasn't due till lunchtime. It was mostly the fine stuff, so not very helpful to water the garden. We were going to M&S to take back OH's jeans he got for a refund and to see if we could get the same style as his others he bought and decided to call in Costa nearby for a coffee first. Next thing OH came back to our table and asked me for some money as he'd forgotten his wallet! It also meant he hadn't got his credit card to get a refund from M&S so we'll do that errand next week. He's gone with his friend to a match about an hour away and taken more books to swap with him and a bottle of Sherry he was given by one of the schools. His friend's doing well with bottles from us with us being non alcoholic. :-)
It seems still and humid here AnnG, but the sun is breaking through now. I should go and pull a few weeds soon when I've had my COT if it isn't too hot. Yes it's good to get jobs done, especially improvements. OH said when he had to get up in the night he went and checked whether the light by the back door lit up the gate and lock and it did. You have got a lot of things sorted this year too.
I hope you enjoy the show Mel and that there are more entries today. I have found a show I've not heard of before that's not too far away and is at the end of August and I might just go along and see what it is like if I remember.
Before I do anything I must go and put a polythene tube on the new light pull in the ensuite. I do hate a dirty pull cord and this method keeps them like new.

Because the appointment for January for the BCCs was after dark I asked for another appointment to be safer. It came today (took 2 days so that was good). For 25 MARCH AT 2PM. but why is it so different now to how it was pre covid. Pre covid dermatology was in the main hospital, now it has been 'contracted out or whatever' to the Aspem centre down the end of Horton road a fair walk from the hospital with hardly any parking spaces. And pre covid from seeing the GP to seeing somebody in Dermatology would be 2-3 months at the most with the procedures usually done a couple of months later. Mind you 15 years ago I used to get called in by the GP who worked regularly in Dermatology (not from our surgery) so that he could check me over to 'catch' any BCCs. What price progress?

Mel hope you win something for your miniatures and it stays dry so they get a lot of people there .
Hope Vera is enjoying her family weekend I bet there will be lots of chatting and catching up with people who they haven't seen for a while .
Anng is it the gardening that has made your leg hurt or just how you laid in bed ,hope it's improving now after having the cream rubbed in .
Ann hope your less tired today ,having the workman in and out is tiring is that all finished now . Have a nice rest today and get some beading done, I'm still plodding away with these squares .

Morning all,
Pc is telling me rain to stop son but I don't see any rain. Its 18 degrees and I did sleep well but boy do I ache this morning, hips knees and an itchy hand. I took a pill lst night but I think I may have to take another today. Up once inthe night and then back to sleep again and woke at 11am!!! Everywhere out there looks refreshed but I don't think we had any real rain just a heavy mist.
I have the shop to do this morning and I am going to the show this afternoon. May ring Diana and see if she's going. You do get a nice burger or hot dog there or coffeee and cakes.
