Ouch Vera, I have had a slight muscle spasm, in that my lower back muscle went into a spasm that lasted for about 5 minutes but that you had was horrendous. Just going to take my last antibiotic of the day. My leg is sore so the antib's are not working yet. 'night, speak in the morning.

Hope you sleep well tonight all of you. See you in the morning.

Oh Vera, that sounds really nasty if the muscle spasms. You wouldn't know what to do with yourself for the best with the back pain, Thank goodness it has eased a bit now and enough for you to go to the birthday party. I looked through OH's MRI scan result properly last night and there were so many spinal and pelvic issues including multiple areas of swelling, old inflammation, thickening from osteoporosis and even a congenital issue that is like an extra vertebra! It did say his spinal cord is unaffected so that was a relief. He said his parents didn't do very well with him, but I think if they scanned most older people they would find all sorts wrong. You've probably said before but have you tried physio to see if it helps. OH was very sceptical, but finds it does help him. I don't know whether it will continue but he had another 3 month blood test regarding his halved dose of statins and his liver is fine now and he gets that many aches with leg muscles anyway he would hardly notice any new ones.
Your daughter is doing well teaching her little dogs and I'm sure the boy will soon catch on if treats are involved. It will be lovely to see them when she introduces them to you.
Mandy I didn't get in the garden today either. I did washing and hoovered round, forgetting to do the porch that needed it after emptying the bottom of the cupboard. By mid afternoon I seem to feel weary and lose motivation. I did do some paperwork though and there's always tomorrow. :-D

I’m back. I enjoyed my sandwich and cuppa at lunchtime.
I’m sorry I haven’t posted for a few days. It’s nice to know I was missed and I appreciate your concern. It’s been a combination of being busy and having a few medical problems. As you know I have a very weak muscle in my back and that’s the one that gives me aches and pains but occasionally it also goes into spasm. It decided to do this to me on Saturday. When it happens I can’t keep still, I can’t lie down or sit up and it feels as though someone is constantly stabbing me in the back. Even strong pain killers barely touch it and the only relief is careful movement. I spent most of Saturday night walking round and round the house trying not to moan and cry, eventually falling into an exhausted sleep around 6 am and sleeping for about 3 hours. On Sunday it was fractionally better and knowing I was supposed to be out most of Monday I did most of the washing and cooked a roast dinner. OH did all the bending and stretching for me but by the afternoon I had to go back to bed. At least now the painkillers were working a bit.
Yesterday I was feeling a good bit better so the muscle must have un-spasmed itself. I was just very sore and very tired but I was due to go to an 80th birthday lunch and didn’t want to miss it so I showered and dressed, filled myself up with painkillers and went. There’s a nice pub at Long Melford that we all like so we had booked a table for a meal there – just 6 of us. It’s also one of the few places around that does meals on Mondays and the birthday girl particularly wanted to go out on her birthday. Food was delicious and all 6 of us cleared our plates, even the “fussy” one. I had salmon again, roasted with capers, crushed new potatoes and fennel in a creamy sauce. We didn’t have desserts as we were going back to the home of one of the ladies. She had made a big trifle and another friend, who couldn’t actually be at the lunch, had made a birthday cake with candles. It was a lovely afternoon and I didn’t get back till nearly 6 pm. I was still very sore and tired but in a much cheerier mood.
I got about 5 hours sleep last night and today I have managed to do the ironing that was lying around and strip the beds and wash and dry the bedding. I’ve also had a call from the surgery. The dosage of my bp tablets is being doubled and they are putting me on statins. The docs like cholesterol levels to be below 5 and mine is just over at 5.7. As I am also having all these bp problems they want to get the figure down a bit. I am not keen on going on statins but I have to take their advice so I’ll give them a try. Many more tablets and I shall start to rattle. After a month I’ve got to send in another set of bp figures and in 3 months I’ve got to have more blood tests.
Right, that’s my boring medical history out of the way. Now I’m waiting for Tesco. Apparently I have 3 subs which is a lot for them. They are all sensible subs but I will send one of them back as it’s not quite what I want. I’ll keep the other two.
Oh, daughter texted with news of the dogs. Apparently the lady dog has learnt to sit on command but (I won’t use daughter’s language) the male couldn’t care less about any training. They have both learnt to go outside for toilet purposes and both walk well on the lead so she feels confident in bringing them to meet us one day next week. We’re looking forward to that.

Good afternoon folks
It’s good to hear that the doctor you saw was on the ball AnnG and hopefully you will be sorted out very quickly now. It’s wrong that you haven’t had the necessary treatment earlier and you certainly deserve an apology from the practice. I hope someone claims the little cat or a good home can be found for it.
Mel, I have a Tesco delivery today as well but I don’t know if there are any subs as I haven’t received the receipt yet. I expected it to come early morning as usual but no sign of it yet. Driver isn’t due till 4 pm so there’s still time. Our grandson didn’t eat chocolate. He just didn’t like it much. It used to make it difficult when I was buying Easter eggs for the girls as I’d have to hunt for sweets in nice packaging so that they looked as good as an egg.
You see a lot of bad driving these days Annx but I’m shocked that parents weren’t more careful round a school. What an example for their children!
OH has called that lunch is ready (tuna and tomato sandwich and a little cake) so I’ll post this and hope to get back later to explain why I haven’t been on the thread for a few days.

This is a different cat, I don't see much of skinny now although he is still around. this is a pretty little (I think) female cat quite young and lady has been and she is not chipped. she left me a collar with a phone number to ring if it returns to an owner but we think she is a stray probably from a litter of unowned cats that live on a nearby esteate. Apparently the people there have cats and just let them breed until the people from the facebook group catch them and get them done before sending them back to where they came from. I managed to get the collar on her but she was very cross and fought me to get away. Luckily she is quite samll. If nobody claims her the lady will come back and catch her and take her for re-homing.

I was slow posting AnnG so missed yours. How good it was you saw that doctor yesterday and that she's on the case and has got you an urgent referral. It's good it's still curable but needed dealing with sooner rather than later.
OH is ready to go so BBL

Morning All,
Sunny and bright here but it's getting windier now. We were out early for OH to call in a school for a photo to be taken for a website. I was surprised at the number of cars and bad driving by parents (looking at phones while driving and not concentrating on where they were driving) while I waited for him in the car. We then nipped to a garden centre about a mile away. There was a road closed sign so we thought we may have to turn back but found there was still access to the garden centre although there wasn't a sign saying so. We had a breakfast bap and drink then called to get a paper on the way back and were home just in time for the fitter to check measurements.
I need to return the duvet I bought online next and OH has another GP appointment this afternoon and then he's going to a match with his friend tonight. I need to get the washer on as well. At least the windowcleaner came today so we don't need to leave the gate unlocked now.
Is the little stray cat different to Skinny AnnG? Is it to scan for a microchip to find an owner as I think cats have to be microchipped now or is it just dogs? It's a bit of a pain to keep emptying cupboards isn't it! We had to empty the porch cupboard floor this morning for the fitter to measure and decided not to put much back till they have been back to fit the raised floor and new doors as it will only have to be emptied again.
Why doesn't Sam eat chocolate Mel? Does he just not like it? I think I might have a waist again if I didn't. :-D

It was 4 days ago that we last heard from Vera. I do hope that they are both OK.
It is 12 degrees here now but feels colder to me. The taps were out of stock so plumber had ordered them and will let me know when he can fit them.Cat has been scanned. no chip. I have now managed to get a collar on it with a phone number (not mine) to contact if cat belongs to somebody. If no response somebody will come and try and catch her.
Just had an email from the surgery to say they have made an urgent referral for the thing on my leg. Looks like they think it is an SCC (Squamous Cell carcinoma, a but more serious than the usual BCCs if it is but still curable. Pit that was not noted in June when I saw the other doctor.

Good morning all, a nice bright morning 9 degrees at 7.30am. I have been up since 0615. The antibs have to be taken at roughly 6-8 hour intervals over 24. So daughter and I worked out something like 0615am, 1200, 5.30. 1045 So that allows for a reasonable night's sleep. yes empty stomach to allow for absorbtion and taken with a full glass of water to protect the oesophogus.
Have lady coming this morning to see if she can scan the little stray cat inhabiting my garden most of the day, Also the plumber might come and replce the kitchen tap, so that will entail emptying that cupboard under the sink again. and being picked up around 1.45 to got out to a garden centre with my friend.

The windowcleaner never turned up and we decided to try the new carvery at a garden centre taken over by the one we visit at Rutland at Christmas. We thought it would be quiet on a Monday with children back as school. Not So! The carpark and overflow carpark were almost full so we drove in and out as we didn't fancy queuing. We went to Morrisons instead and had their nice poached eggs on toast with a COT. We did a shop then and got some things Asda didn't bring and some quick meals for this week. We then called in the bathroom shop and I couldn't believe I spotted tiles I was pleased with almost straightawayr and then a toilet OH liked with a flat lid.. So it's been a successful day shoppingwise. I've also sorted a date with Dan for the gutters to be cleaned.
OH had an appointment with his GP this afternoon and he had the MRI scan results........a whole pageful. No wonder he gets pain poor chap, but those results will be discussed with the rheumatologist if he ever gets an appointment. The doc isn't concerned about the occasional dizziness, doesn't need to change his meds and thinks it could still be due to the aftermath of all that happened to him.
A parcel was supposed to be delivered before 5.00pm, then I got an email saying it would be by 7.35pm, but still no sign of it. I hope it doesn't arrive after I've gone to bed. :-S
I hope the antibiotics foon clear up the infection AnnG. I expect the unusual routine for them is to be sure that anything eaten isn't going to interfere with them being absorbed fully. I shouldn't drink coffee within a hour of taking my morning Thyroid tablets and shouldn't have calcium rich foods for 4 hours after and there are other foods that I have to allow time for like iron. Even fibre rich foods shouldn't be eaten for at least half an hour. Another good reason why I skip breakfast most of the time! Bananas shouldn't be eaten within 2 hours of having my beta blocker either due to the potassium in them.
That was a good trip for your car Mel and chance to get more used to it and filling it up. I wonder what library books you got out? I am just starting to read 'Entitled' about Prince Andrew which OH got when it came out. He's told me I will be amazed.
I see you didn't didn't get the garden jobs done either Mandy. I need to get more washing done too. I thought there wouldn't be much once I retired as well. No Vera again. I hope she's just busy and is ok.

Sounds as if the change of doctor worked better for you Anng and I hope the antibiotics do the trick, she might get your appointment changed so you see someone a bit earlier . Those antibiotics are a job to remember and when I had mine I would right on the box so I knew what time I had had them as its so easy to think did I take it .
Ann i haven't been good doing the weeding as I never got out there today by the time I got some other jobs done I didn't feel like going out and it had clouded up and looked more like rain ,oh well there's always tomorrow.
Do hope Vera's OK and hasn't got one of her bad migraines.

Cynth was off to friends for a couple of nights after we got back from the Drs. My other friend, Pouise over the road took me to the chemist for the antibiotics which have to be taken 4 times a day either an hour before food or 2 hours after. That is going to take a bit of remembering

Morning All,
ISunny here too but it felt chilly outside. I was up early and showered and off to the Range for just after they opened as the traffic was quite bad with everyone back to work after half term now. Goodness me, as I walked in Christmas music started playing! (too early for me I'm afraid) and I noticed the staff have started wearing masks again. I couldn't see any pencil top curtains and none took my fancy anyway, but after fighting so many of them on and off the tall shelves, there were quite a few 4.5 tog double duvets mixed up with the others and so I got one with a cotton cover and 5 year guarantee. There were a few just 1 tog, but although there don't seem to be 3.5 tog ones like I am using stocked anywhere, I decided 1 tog was too cold for winter even for me! I also found some nice thick pale blue hand towels for the en suite and then noticed a craft and stationery area, Quite a good selection of wool, cottons, embroidery threads and loads of different notepads, pens etc. I got a 300 page reporters pad as I'm running out and the whole lot cost just over £26.
That turned out well then seeing such a nice doctor AnnG. She sounded really interested to get you sorted out. I wonder whether she will try and get your appointment brought forward as well.
It's likely to be the breathing in the live virus in the air as you say Mandy. I suppose the virus would be on the dog's nose and could transfer if someone touched it and then rubbed their own nose or mouth breathing in the virus that way. You are good catching up with the weeding. We are off to the bathroom shop again soon so I may not get in the garden today.
Gwyn I set two alarms in the bedroom if we have an appointment now as one failed to go off once. I set one a few minutes after the other so I don't jump out of my skin with twice the noise. I forgot to change the car clock while I was out earlier and thought I was late getting home till I realised!|

Well how refreshing to find a young enthusiastic, knowledgeable and empathetic female doctor. And so pretty too (although I know I shouldn't say that. She was interested in what has gone before, puzzled as to why the hospital appointment was so far in the future and worried that the one giving me trouble was a bit infected. she took my BP, temp and pulse and asked if I felt well. (obviously alert to possibility of sepsis.) Took more photos and borrowed the special instrument the other lady doctor who is so popular you can't get appointments with her, uses, to show her later. She will then text me with any comments. and she has sent a prescription through to the pharmacy for antibiotics. I must have been in ther 20 minutes. I am so pleased the other doctor was away for three weeks.
