Annx Report 17 Mar 2021 20:18

Evening All,

It's been dull here most of the day, but warmer again. I slept well but woke up at 6.30am and didn't go back to sleep so at least I was in good time for my landscape course.

OH went to the dentist who said he needed the hospital to extract one of his teeth last time he went. The hospital said it wasn't necessary and that his own dentist could do a root filling! That didn't get done due to lockdown and now this same dentist is saying he needs it extracting by the hospital again! :-S At this rate it will fall out on it's own before anyone does anything.

Oh Mandy, Mel might enclose one of those 'squeakers' for toys! lol. :-D I'm using the back of the sodden painting for practice as it wasn't as good as I would have liked anyway, no-ones was, including the teacher's! lol.Today we did a snowy scene that was better to do, but it seems a bit bare, although the photo we used looks a bit bare too. It's the last week next week and some of the others want to do trees and walls as they say their attempts are like a 5 year old's. I don't mind trees and walls so I have asked about doing people in landscapes. I hope the muscle aches have worn off by Friday ready for the barrowing. You don't want aches before you even start do you.

Sorry things didn't go well today Vera. It sounds like a bit of an ordeal and how disappointing to have to go through that awful prep again. Hope you had a nice meal afterwards.

Mel I have never switched the wifi on on my camera either. I thought it was just for wireless downloading of photos but don't really know.

Frank I had a lovely four poster at my old house, but sold it when I moved here as the bedrooms here are quite small in comparison. It was lovely with barley twist and fluted posts, but quite dusty with all the drapes. The one Simon got was a bargain price.

That's good you took the car out for a drive AnnG. If you do a little often, you will get more used to it. I have to admit with the lockdown, the few times I have taken mine out it has felt strange and I wasn't as relaxed as usual. It will change once I am out more regularly though. I see you are still getting things sorted and able to use the wardrobe for some of your things now. Don't mention cameras to me......I have a few that I need to sell as well as somewhere to keep the two I want.

G noticed the little dog next door coming back from her walk this afternoon. He saw the man stop and talk to someone, then he unclipped her lead and dropped it on the path. The dog picked it up and ran full pelt down the close carrying it home. It looks like something they are letting her do which I think is a bit silly. Even if the close isn't busy with cars at the time, someone could be sitting in their car in the their drive and start reversing into the road and run over her. There's not even a footpath at the bottom where we have a single width road and the asian boys really put their foot down when they drive away and wouldn't see her round the bend from their parents' house. I thought it had been made illegal now to not be on a lead on a road anyway. It has solved the mystery of her running home on her own the other day.

Glad you liked the card Gill and thought it was shop bought! It sounds like the cutting back of the hedge is a good temporary answer to make room for your plants just now.

Sorry Mandy. No I would not drive in town. My neighbour will take me and drop me off and I will bus home. Easier to get there on time by car I hope and no problem to bus home to save her hanging around.

Oh Vera that is a shame, I am sorry you had all that for nothing.was it actually a good surgeon or could it have been his fault, you have had it done before haven’t you did you have a problem then? Never mind presumably you can look forward to eating tomorrow.

O poor you Vera what an awful thing to have to have done again after all that prep. I can see why your not a happy bunny.

Oh is cooking so I went in the shower after cleaning the big girls out. I felt all itchy. They are nice and clean now anyway.

Mandy I may squeak!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SuffolkVera Report 17 Mar 2021 19:00

Just a quick post. Thank you all for your good wishes. Things didn’t go as well as hoped. The prep yesterday was awful but I did everything as instructed and got through it but didn’t get to bed till 1 am or sleep till turned 3 am. Had to be up at 6.30 so I could shower and OH could get breakfast before leaving at 7.30. Then my blood pressure, which is usually in the normal range, was sky high. I know “white coat syndrome” sends it up a bit but this was way above normal for me, so the nurse took it 6 times before they went ahead with the procedure. Then the doctor abandoned it after 20 minutes as he couldn’t get round a bit of my innards. He’s writing to my consultant suggesting I either have it done again but with a thin tube they use for very young children or they do a colostomy scan. Either way I’ll have to go through all this awful prep again. So I am not a happy bunny.

Be back in a better mood tomorrow.

Evening all,

It's been quite dull here today ,sun tried to shine but not for long and we had a heavy shower at lunch time .

Went shopping yesterday and got that all wiped and put away for another week .
Today we went to get petrol ,this will be the first fill up this year ,the last time we got petrol was well before Christmas .

The broccoli looked good Island and my word you'll have a good lot of tadpoles soon too .

Mel lovely photos of the sunset it looks nice with the light behind the dark trees .
I shall look out for the post then Mel thank you and see if i can hear a squeak before i open it :-D :-D

Simon was lucky he didn't get stopped going down to south end for the bed ,they have stopped people going to our coast and turned them round with a fine .
I thought Brian was going to have a ride out with you on your scooter ,once you feel confident on it you'll be away you just need some warmer weather .

AnnG you have been busy again with your sorting out ,thats good the car started first time ,will you go in the car or on the bus tomorrow to the hospital .

Ann that was good your eyes have only changed a little bit and that you won't need the cataracts done yet .
What a shame you spluttered the water over your painting after working on it ,can it be saved .

Did you managed some time in the garden Gill ,what is the back garden like have you got a lawn ,at least you have plenty of plants to put in with all your pots, did you bring the water feature with you .

We got some paint for the conservatory ,we still haven't done the lounge yet as we need new carpet and we didn't want anyone in to do it so we thought we would have a freshen up in the conservatory first ,we have tiles on the floor in there so only walls and painting to do round the doors and the skirting the windows are UPVC so that saves a bit of painting .

We have a load of wood coming on Friday so i need to rest up ready for all the barrowing ,i still don't feel 100% from the jab my muscles and joints have been really aching .

Hope Vera is ok now after her hospital appointment .

Iv'e heard from Ann today on an email.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 17 Mar 2021 17:35

Nothing from Annx as yet, hope she is ok..

Today I have driven my car down into the village area to take some cards to sell to my friend, a bit awkward as I had to go past the vaccination centre and doctors surgery so a lot of traffic in a narrow road. Anyway it started first time and was ok. Still don’t like driving. And I have a warning light on for a tyre that is low pressure.

I also walked down with three bags for Irene, that leaves just two bags to go on Friday. Won’t go tomorrow as I have a hospital appointment for my hearing aids.

And also I moved all my evening, holiday, going out type clothes to the now empty wardrobe in my bedroom which now leaves the small wardrobe in the spare/guest bedroom for guests, which will usually be daughter I guess.

And also cleared a shelf in Tony’s office and a shelf on the top of the cleared wardrobe mostly both held Tony’s larger cameras that I don’t want to use and don’t want to get rid of.

So there was a lot of work done but didn’t cut the lawn.

Frank Easter Sunday is the 4th April and the 5th is easter Monday.

Frank Report 17 Mar 2021 13:19

Afternoon to you all,

Spots of rain here, and much cooler. Ros is out the back gardening again, I have called her in, but she says she alright.

I have been in the conservatory finishing my book.Very good it was too. Now I will start another later this afternoon. I have at least 9 books to choose from, so where do I apart. ??

Fish man tonight, so I'm sorted. Ros is having a "RIB EYED STEAK" with all the trimmings. She will have a few of my chips, as they always give me too many.

Simon and Sally have bought a FOUR POSTER BED to go into the holiday let they have bought in Cromer, Norfolk. They had to drive to Southend-on-Sea to pick it up. The woman bought it 3 months ago for almost £900.00 and now decided she doesn't like to. The bought it for EIGHTY POUNDS. They will buy a new mattress, as they wouldn't want to drag that all the way from S on S. Plus they wouldn't want to chance putting the old mattress in the Holiday Let. They will have a mattress cover made for the new one, so it can be cleaned when and if needed.

Ros wants to buy some reclaimed Railway sleepers, to put down the side of the garden, to stop the lawn growing into the flower beds. That will be a job for Harvey or Barry. Certainly not a job for either of us to try to do.

I can't seem to get going today. I didn't have a good night, and seem to have a lot of "TWITCHING" going on in my body.

I see you mentioned EASTER Mel, when is it ?? With this shutdown, I don't know one day from another. OLD AGE. lol lol

Take care folks, see you soon. xxxx

Morning Anng and all,

Beautiful morning at the mo and the washing is on the line so I can get another load in now.

I have sent a few pics of last nights sunset but my cmera dos'nt take what I see it always lightens it up so not the true colour. Sometimes I wish I had'nt got a camera with wifi as I am sure its that.

Oh has just gone out to my shed so I think once the dew has dried off of it he will start painting again.

Its good you spotted your plants had been put on top of each other gill and they will start growing now so you better find space for them somewhere or the roots from the top ones wil go into the bottom ones and you won't be able to get them apart.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 17 Mar 2021 09:09

thanks for photos Mel. What sort of camera have you got. Mine actually has a setting for sunsets. what happens is the camera sees a bright sunset, a bright light and immediately shuts down a few stops so that it is not so bright. you need to over rule the camera depending what sort of camera you have.

Good morning Gill (that was a late/early one) and all. Gill I expect the pots looked empty when they stacked them and now things will be starting to grow. Just clear a small space for those that need moving but do be careful of your back.

Bright here and dry so far and 3 degrees

I have to psyche myself up to drive my car today. fingers crossed it starts first time. Of course as son in law was the last to drive it I will need to adjust the seat etc.

Gillx Report 17 Mar 2021 01:46

Wow Ann, the card is brilliant, I didn't realise you'd painted it, it looks shop bought. I've just looked again and noticed your initials, they were very well hidden lol. Thank you so much and thanks for the extra pots ;-) ;-) I've taken my tablet but it doesn't seem to be working and I'm still wide awake. Hopefully I'll fall sleep soon.

I had a look out of the back door this afternoon and noticed the removal men have put some of my plants on top of other's, so I might sort them out tomorrow, the only problem is I've got nowhere to put them, so I might have to cut some of the hedge out first to make some room as OH has put yet more bags of pampas grass rubbish down the side of the bungalow. I'll be glad when it's all gone then we'll have a bit more room to move the pots out of the way. The weather forecast for the rest of this week is dry, so if it's not to cold I might be able to spend a few hours each day in the garden. The problem I've got though is where to put all the rubbish. Maybe OH will go to the tip again when he gets up tomorrow. I've only got a week to wait before I can put the garden bin out so long as the permit arrives by then. It doesn't get rid of much rubbish but every little bit helps.

Signing out in a minute, I've just got a couple of messages to check and my emails first.

Annx Report 16 Mar 2021 19:02

Yes it was me who sent the card Gill. I decided to paint you one as a surprise and I put you some more pots on it! :-D If you look, you will see my Initials are in the bottom corner.

Annx Report 16 Mar 2021 18:57

Evening All,

Nice and sunny here today and 10 degrees. I woke at 5.30am and couldn't get off to sleep again. The bin men arrived at 7.00am and I just lay awake then.

We went to Boots for my eye test at 9.00am and OH came as he still hasn't chosen any new glasses. I was done and dusted and home within an hour and I didn't get the trainee. I had the new scan you pay £25 for as well as the free one just to see if anything is developing and it showed my eyes are healthy which is good to know. They say my sight has only changed slightly and the cataracts are so small there is no chance of getting them done! She suggested I get extra reading glasses to help with close work and reduce eyestrain. I told her I can still see number plates and she laughed and said I was a long way off that yet!! I think I may order some online as they are cheaper than the opticians. OH didn't fancy any of their glasses so sat and read in the car while he waited. A silly man as I was coming out was holding the door for me.........had he not heard of keeping the 2 metre distance? I noticed one of the new stores they are building to extend the retail park is a T K Maxx so I shall be going there at some point in the future.

We then did a detour through the village after to charge the battery in his car and looked at all the new building that's gone on on the industrial estate. No wonder we see so many lorries! There is a truck centre, a haulage place as well as a coach company. Quite a few new offices too. The mound covering the old tip where one of the quarries used to be still has the black methane pipes stuck all over it and they've built a storage place with tanks to hold the gas.

I hope the wipe down was speedy Mel. I see you got a sub on your plant seeds too. They must sell out quick this time of year. That sounded like a nice, cosy shirt for your OH. I wonder how much he has painted now? It's been dry here all day.

The painting we did yesterday was so complex and not easy, even the teacher's wasn't very good. I spent ages trying to improve mine this afternoon, then my glass of water went down the wrong way and I spluttered water all over it while the paint was still wet, so that won't be a keeper will it!! lol.

Frank didn't they show you how to use the scooter when they brought it to you? I would have thought even if it wasn't on the day, they would have come to show you.

Gillx

Gillx Report 16 Mar 2021 18:27

Thanks for letting me know AnnG. Yes, I'm hoping I find a builder who can sort the bricks out, before the gas pipes and metre box are put outside.
