Thank you for your card Mel. It arrived this afternoon. I got yours AnnG the same day as Mandy and I think I said thank you. I hope you get some post soon.
Yesterday we had a lot of rain. Today hasn't been as bad as I expected. It rained this morning but was dry this afternoon and the wind hasn't been any worse than a stiff breeze. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny.
It's good that you have heard your mammogram is clear Annx. That's one less thing for you to worry about. Sorry to hear that you are not sleeping well. Good luck with resetting your body clock. I've lost count of how many times over the years doctors have put me on sleeping pills for 10 days or so and assured me that would reset my body clock. It never has. I think my clock has stopped working altogether now.
Oh Mandy, that was annoying to break the candle jar. I bet you were cross with yourself. It's just the sort of thing I do. I've got a lot of scented candles but OH isn't keen so I don't use them in the lounge. I have thought I might find them relaxing in the bedroom but I am frightened I might fall asleep with them still burning and there could then be an accident.
Not getting anything done yesterday after having the doctor's phone call and doing the neighbours shopping I thought I'd better have a h/w day. I changed the beds and did a lot of washing. I still have the bedding to wash but I've done all our clothes for the last 8 or 9 days, some heavy jumpers and all the towels and OH hoovered through for me, bless him. This afternoon I had a Sainsbury delivery, a bit earlier than I would normally have it but I wanted to fit it in now as I have one booked from Tesco for 18th. There was nothing unavailable but there were 2 subs. I was happy with one of them after I checked the dates to make sure it would be OK till I wanted to use it but the other one went back. I had just ordered an ordinary Pantene shampoo. That wasn't available so the picker decided to send me some stuff to smooth frizzy hair instead. Why would someone I have never met decide I must have frizzy hair?
I must get on as I still want to type a couple of letters to go in with cards. I hope everyone, me included, has a good night. Sleep well, sweet dreams.

Iv'e only had Anng's card out of all of you so far. The postman came today but just the parcel delivered.
Iv'e not done a blimmin thing today its been so windy and wet all I hasve done is feed the chickens. Look for the chickens food bucket and not touched the flowers at all. Just could'nt get motivated but I now have sausage rolls in the oven so that one job out of the way I suppose.
O Mandy fancy dropping the candle don't you get cross with yourself for doing these sort of things.
I hope you can all sleep better tonight and get yourselves back into gear with your body clocks.
Just given them another 5 mins and they are smelling lovely. I have two lots with wholegrain mustard in and a few with cranberry sauce which I am trying out.

Afternoon All,
It was horrid, wet and windy when we went for our meds this morning. A big carrier bagful! lol. Then when we got home they had only done the prescription for one of OH's lot of meds so he's gone back to get the rest. He usually checks before we drive off, but with it raining hard he didn't today.
I'm glad you had a better night AnnG, but we were still awake in the early hours again and then slept in late this morning. I think we are going to have to force ourselves to be up early and hopefully help reset our body clocks. We have had post today at last, so thank you very much for your lovely card with nice twinkly words which arrived at lunchtime, as did Vera's lovely card, so thank you too Vera. I also got the all clear on my mammogram which was good to know. I did a bit of tidying, got lunch and have changed the bed, so that's my HW for today and it's back to painting again now. I'm afraid I have limited space in here, so have to shuffle things around and can't paint big pictures as the desk space is small. What I tend to do is lay out the paints I'm using, mixing plate and brushes on a tray that I can put on the floor when I need room to use my laptop. It's easier than packing everything back onto shelves each time.
I see your post is getting through Mandy. I've noticed the postmen don't walk as much now, at least round here, and park little vans at the end of the road where they deliver and then move on. It's nice to have a change of baubles but what a shame about the candle for Chelsea. I hope you can salvage the candle to use somewhere, but fingers crossed they still have some more when you go back for another and at least it didn't crack a floor tile.

Afternoon all,
Had a good shop this morning in food warehouse and went into the range and bought some new baubles in golds and green ,nice to have a change of colour on the tree , I bought a smellie candle for Chelsea as she likes those blow me when I got it home I thought I'd pop it in a shopping bag with a few other bits to take upstairs , put the bag on the kitchen floor and just as I got hold of it and it was nearly down in the bag it slipped and I've cracked the bottom of the jar so now I'll have to buy another one .
Thank you Vera and Gwyn for your cards they came this morning so our post is getting through OK.
It's so mild out ,this morning was wet with light showers and now we have a little weak sun and a little bit of wind but not bad so far .

Good morning all 13 degrees here so mild again and, so far, dry which is strange as our forecast was for high winds and heavy rain, Maybe that is to come. I am not going anywhere today. I slept better last night and both legs were not too bad.
Hope you had a better night last night Ann.
Ann good that you are getting on with the painting. And good that you didn't cut it down but waited until it dried. I wonder if painting or H/W will win today?
Untied utilities seem to be everywhere with their road works and traffic lights, sometimes our sprawling village is almost boxed in.

Vera the reason for my disturbed nights at the moment is the skin on my leg/ankle round the wound is very sensitive and tender and the bedclothes really hurt last night, I ended up with throwing the duvet off and just having the sheet luckily it was not a cold night.
When I ask Cynth to get things for me from the supermarket I make it as simple as Possible. It doesn’t seem as if your neighbour did the same for you.

Evening All,
It's been warmer here today and no rain. I noticed our neighbour was getting her gutters cleaned as I went out and think it is the same chap that did ours as she did ask him for a quote. When I went to the shop I was disappointed to see a lane of the main road coned off again by Openreach, also they were back in our close again. Apparently they are laying cable ready to switch off our landlines that is planned for us all now they are going digital. I didn't call in the bathroom shop as there were no parking spaces.
I'm glad your eye is doing well Vera and that the drops are finished now. It's a shame the other eye is not right, but at least you should be discharged regarding the cataract. I hope the bus trip there is ok and I would get a taxi if needs be too rather than drive in the dark. It's quite a trip to your hospital isn't it. I'm quite enjoying painting instead of HW, but need to do some of that tomorrow too! It's good your OH's change is normal for his age and not dementia. I sometimes wonder about myself as I lose the thread of what I am saying mid sentence sometimes and forget names of people that come back to me half an hour later.
AnnG I was the same again with poor sleep last night too. I ended up getting a COT and sat it out till 3.00am again. I hope your legs have improved now. Thank you for your cottage pictures which I love and I spend ages looking at all the interesting detail. I did a bit more painting today and thought I'd messed it up and would have to cut it down in size! Now it's dried I think it will be ok though. Yes, I felt sorry for Lewis ending up with such a poor dance and music and being voted out. I don't agree with experienced dancers like him and Amber taking part, but his other performances were exceptional and better than some of the professionals could do. I loved her tango but thought Balvinder would go as Craig was always telling her about turning her toes out. It's become even more the public's favourite rather than a dance competion now.
Mandy it was wise to keep away from the bugs if DIL had a cold. I remember having a bad cold one Christmas and couldn't even taste the Turkey! I'm glad Katie liked her cushion. Are the lovely blankets you made Christmas gifts too? The girls are so lucky to have the unique gifts you make. The painting is getting there and I might finish it this week.
I am getting more scam emails now it's getting near Christmas. One today was saying my sub for The Cloud on my PC had run out and my cloud storage would be disabled.......rubbish I've never paid a sub for cloud. The other was supposed to be from my bank, very convincing that someone had tried to log in to my bank account, so if it wasn't me to ring a phone number (which I would never do anyway). The bank they were pretending to be was one I have never had an account with.
You are getting on well with your wreaths and table decorations Mel. It's handy being able to forage for bits to make them with.

Good evening all Sorry that you had a poor night’s sleep AnnG. I hope your legs are feeling less painful now and you get a better night tonight I didn’t sleep much either and eventually dropped off at around 5 am. I was amazed when I woke and it was 9 o’clock so I then had to get myself moving quickly. I did get all your photos, thank you. As I said in my email I think it is a lovely display.
You were wise not to go in to your son’s house Mandy. The last thing you want at Christmas is a nasty cold. I sometimes wonder how many germs we are picking up in the shops as they are so crowded at this time of year.
I’m pleased you have started painting again Annx. I’ve missed seeing all your lovely pieces of art. My eye seems to be OK now, though I am still not happy with the other eye. I’ve finished my 3 weeks on drops and have an appointment at the hospital on Friday, which will be fun as we are going to attempt to do the journey by bus. It takes twice as long as going by car but with a later appointment it would mean OH driving back in the dark. I’ve done some checking and there is a bus that will get us there with 15 minutes to spare, assuming it turns up and is on time. I’ve got times of the buses back but I don’t know how long we will be there so, if necessary, we’ll have to ring for a taxi back.
You seem to be getting on well with your wreaths and arrangements Mel. Don’t forget to send us some pictures please.
It’s been one of those days again. I got up late and had my first tablet of the day. I can’t eat for about an hour after this one so couldn’t have breakfast till around 10 am but we had a consultant from the hospital ringing at 10 so I left breakfast for a while. Although it was about OH’s brain scan she needed both of us to be there and we were told she would be ringing my mobile, not sure why. My speakerphone is not very loud so I spent ages yesterday finding how to increase the volume, eventually even turning off Bluetooth. Then she rang on the landline! OH doesn’t have dementia but she has diagnosed him with mild cognitive impairment due to age. She said if he is worried later on, having already had a diagnosis means he will be seen more quickly at the memory clinic. She did see something on his scan that she is referring to a neurosurgeon at Cambridge mainly because it’s not in her field of expertise, but she said not to worry about it as he may have been born with it and it's not urgent so it may be a long while before he hears from Cambridge. On the whole it was a pleasing conversation.
I eventually had my breakfast at 11.30 am and then we went to get the neighbour’s shopping. What a pain that was. She had been very specific about what she wanted and to get the products at Sainsbury. First they didn’t have the milk she wanted so I had to decide whether to leave her without milk or get an alternative which was what I did. She got 2 litres instead of 1 and semi skimmed instead of full fat. They didn’t have the chicken she wanted but I eventually found something similar at the back of a shelf. They didn’t have the fish she wanted and I couldn’t find a suitable alternative so I didn’t get anything. Luckily Sainsbury’s did have the rest of the things on her list. The trouble is all this hunting for alternatives that neighbour would accept took a lot of time so lunch was very, very late but she seemed happy with what I had got. So I have got nothing done today. Son has just rung on my phone and usually chats to me for about an hour but I have handed him over to talk to his Dad for a change.
Right, I must now go and get one or two small jobs done before OH will want feeding again.
