I hope your stomach cramps ease quickly Gill and your headache clears up soon. Sandra’s boyfriend sounds like bad news but, like you say, all you can do is be there for her and be ready to pick up the pieces if things go wrong. Things seem to be moving a lot faster with your house now so that’s good news and not long to wait for your scan either. I hope your Mum doesn’t risk driving too early. She needs to realise that if she does drive when she isn’t supposed to it will invalidate her insurance so they will not pay out if she has a knock.
I hope your jab goes OK tomorrow Ann and the timing works out with your broadband switch. The wipe down was no problem. I think I’ve got it down to a fine art now. I had quite a big order but it was all wiped down and put away within about an hour. It’s strange you can’t get the lamb shanks. I’ve had no trouble getting them from Sainsbury’s or Tesco’s.
Mandy, I did have salad with the quiche but limited mine to rocket, cucumber, a little bit of red pepper and a little bit of radish. There was tomato in the quiche so I thought I’d better not risk more with my salad, but OH had tomatoes and lettuce and more of everything else as well.
Where’s Frank? I hope he’s OK.
Signing out now. Sleep tight everyone.

What did you end up having with your quiche Vera that would have suited me quiche and salad i can get salad every day . My tom seeds have all come up so i will have plenty i might have to have a few pots outside but i give the family toms and cues as he children love them .
Gill i hope your head ache has eased a little now ,it might be the paint fumes as Ann said . Thats good the gas meter is going in ,you'll soon be able to get your boiler in ,have you got to have radiators put in for full central heating or are there some in already Hope your mum listens to the advice not to drive she would be silly to chance it .
I haven't got any thing on the go at the moment Ann i keep looking on pinterest to try and get some ideas . I keep meaning to ask if you have heard from Fitz lately ,i wondered how Chris and family were ,little George must be nearly four months now .,how Jane would have loved him .

I didn't see your message Ann. Yes it is a bit of a worry Sandra seeing this lad but OH and I have decided to make her think we're happy for her so she keeps us in the loop, that way if anything bad happens she'll get in touch with us. She said he might be in prison for 16 weeks according to what he said to her so plenty of time for her to settle into her flat and start making a life for herself. From what I've heard her boyfriend hit his ex so she reported him and he's not allowed to have any contact with her now. He phoned her as she has some of his stuff and he wanted it back, but I think he's just saying that to Sandra and he really wants to get back with his ex, so we're not sure how this relationship is going to pan out.
I use that excuse for my OH saying the more he does the job the easier it'll be lol ;-) I've got terrible stomach cramps at the moment, it's one of the side effects of the medication I'm on for my infection, it started with a sore back this afternoon and now I feel like I've pulled a muscle in both groins and lower stomach. Thankfully it's only a 5 night course and I take the third dose tonight, so not long before I finish it.
Yes, everything seems to be happening at the same time, all I need now is a quote we can afford so we can book the chimney removal to be done and then we can start putting this place back together. OH's just finished taking yet more rubbish to the tip, I think he's getting fed up of it now, but each day is a day closer to it all being done.
I hope you get your broadband and Sky sorted tomorrow and everything moves smoothly. Have you tried Iceland for your lamb shanks I used to get mine from there and they were lovely and tender? Unfortunately our Iceland closed down last year. Luckily at the moment I cant cook anything with having no gas connected in doors yet. I fancy one now you've mentioned it though.

Goodness you'll need a 'page a day' diary soon to put everything in Vera! Looks like we got a night of sleep between us. Hubby finds too much salad doesn't agree with him, but your mention of Rocket has reminded me to order some seeds! I hope it was a speedy wipe down.
Gill, you wanted to get moving with your house and it sounds like you are on an express train now! It's good though as once some things are in place you can start others. Sandra's boyfriend doesn't sound like good company for her. Fancy getting arrested again and I wonder why he was stopped from seeing his ex girlfriend.....some kind of restraining order? It doesn't sound like good news. Sorry you had a migraine. Was it the paint fumes do you think? They give me a headache sometimes. At least you know what was the matter with your mum now, but as you say I doubt she will do as she's been told about not driving! Best wishes with your scan, it will soon be done now.
Your biscuits sound very nice Mandy, I would like all the flavours! lol. :-D Are you making anything nice at the moment?
Oh Mel, it sounds like those beady-eyed bantams enjoyed the vine weevils! Your Dahlias sound nice. I haven't grown any since we changed the garden, but they would be nice in pots I think.
As well as having to get my friend to host the weekly zoom meeting tomorrow, as I will be being jabbed, I have realised the broadband switchover will be tomorrow as well, no time specified! They have said they will ring us a quarter of an hour before they do it. If we haven't heard by then I shall go for my jab on my own and OH can stay behind as they will ring on the home number. I'm not sure they will deal with him though as he isn't the account holder. He will have to give them my mobile number if they won't. Once the broadband has been switched I can get onto SKY and see if we can sort that out next! In case there are any problems with the switchover I have been busy today getting the food order done that's due Sunday. Still no lamb shanks of any description for the second time and a few other things out of stock.
OH has been having various aches and pains today..........it must have been the hoovering he did yesterday I think. Shall I tell him he needs to do it more often to get his muscles used to it? :-)

I had a terrible migraine yesterday so didn't come online, I thought it best to keep away from the laptop screen, I still had the migraine when I went to bed. Thankfully it's just a headache today.
I've spoken to Sandra on the phone today and she's moved to another hotel, it was cheaper and included a breakfast, although for some reason she didn't get the breakfast this morning. Her boyfriend has been arrested again for contacting his ex-girlfriend, he never learns, so Sandra's not very happy now. I did mention to her not to let her boyfriend go onto her deeds so hopefully that won't happen or like you've said on here she might end up losing her flat if he puts in a claim for half of it. I think he's still going to be living with her though so anything could happen in the future.
Mum had her brain scan and it came back okay, they said it's sounds like she's had a few mini strokes, which is what she thought, so she can't drive for a month as that's the rule with the DVLA, not that mum will listen and will probably be back driving before the month is up.
I got my appointment through for my scan, it's next Wednesday 14th April, which is the same date Sandra maybe completing on her flat, so because OH is working the night before and will be in bed most of the day then he's taking me to the hospital, he won't be able to take Sandra to pick her key up until the following day and then it'll have to be in the afternoon as he'll be in bed again most of Thursday with working Wednesday night.
We're having our gas metre put in tomorrow and a roofing company are coming around to do a quote for the chimney in the kitchen to be taken out and the roof made good, so we're going to have a busy day tomorrow. I could do with a diary to keep track of all the appointments and dates things are being done. OH got hold of a bricklayers number which I'll need to ring about the re-pointing and once Sandra gets her keys we'll be helping her move in, so it looks like we're going to be really busy over the next few weeks.
We're giving Sandra one of our sofa's, a bed and a wardrobe so we'll need to organise a van to drop it off at her new flat as well. So it's all go here at the moment. OH has gone down the tip again with yet more of the hedge rubbish.
I see you have an outing at the tip Vera, with popcorn and a flask of coffee lol ;-) ;-) ;-) It's a pity you have to book a slot though and it's not like our tip where you can come and go as you please, whenever you like.
Sorry to hear you're still sore Island, I hope you feel better soon.
That was a lot of money raised AnnG, I bet that was a nice surprise for you.
The biscuits sound delish Mandy and you made more than the recipe stated. Can't be bad :-)
I hope you have a better night's sleep tonight Ann, there's nothing worse than not sleeping well.
It sounds like you've been busy in your garden Mel. I'm not bothering with any tomato plants this year as the greenhouse still isn't up with the hedge rubbish being in the way and by the time that's gone and we've made space for the greenhouse to go in, it'll be to late in the year.

Oh dear Ann, it sounds as though you were falling asleep just as I was waking up. I couldn’t get back to sleep again so after an hour of just lying there I got my book out again. I did have another hour of sleep later but was still up at 7.45. Still, I feel quite pleased as I got some jobs done indoors and spent an hour in the garden. I’m feeling a bit weary at the moment but I am expecting Mr Sainsbury sometime in the next hour so it’ll be wiping down again. Nothing missing and only 1 sub so that’s good. The order included a veggie quiche for us to have tonight but I am not sure what to have with it. Normally I’d do a salad but a lot of salad stuff is upsetting my tum at the moment.
I’ve got loads of tomato seedlings through, far more than we’ll need particularly as I am not supposed to have much tomato. I’ve also planted some wild rocket today. That doesn’t upset me like lettuce.
It’s suddenly come over very grey and dark so I think it might rain. It’s not been a bad day, sunny spells and cloud and a bit warmer than yesterday though there was still a stiff breeze.
Mandy, your biscuits sound pretty good to me. My trip to the tip isn’t till next Tuesday. Tomorrow I shall go into town to collect my meds, Monday it’s the optician, Tuesday the tip and then the hairdresser on 22nd. I know how to have a good time :-)
Must go, Sainsbury’s are here.

Afternoon all
Bright at times here today and there was a lovely dry out I hot all my bedding dry .
Sorry some of you had a bad night I must admit I seem to go out like a light as soon as my head hits the pillow ,I usually get out a couple of times but soon go off again ,now you see tonight I probably won't.
I made some little biscuits this morning a Mary Berry recipe where you split the mixture into three ,one lot chocolate chip, one Almond and the other lot lemon and rolled in demerara sugar ,you are supposed to be able to get twenty biscuits from each piece but how you do that I don't know I managed to get fourteen from each piece and they were small but very nice .we tried them after our lunch .

I think those alarms are for people who are liable to falls etc who have no support nearby. I carry my phone so I can alert my next door neighbour, she is my very good support person, nothing is too much trouble for them although I try not to abuse that. If I ever feel I need a personal alarm I will get one.

Sorry you could'nt sleep last night Ann but a lie in always helps. What are you up to today after your lunch?
Just come in from my shed. I emptied out my pot of patio dahlias and saw some vine weevils so went through all the compost and I got out 36 of the little bu**ers. The bantams were delighted! :-D :-D :-D
There are so many tubers in that one pot I shall have to start them off in a seed tray and then if they shoot I shall divid them into a few pots. They are nice cos they have dark leaves and orangey pink flowers and are low growing.
Good idea to tke the phone with you Anng. Is'nt there a thing you can have to get in touch with someone if you should have a fall?? Think it is for people who live on their own.
11 degrees here and only a slight breeze but I got cold inthe hsed as I did'nt have a coat on or my faithful hat.
Going to get some lunch now too. Think I will have a salmon and cucumber sandwich and I will give oh a smoked salmon one or fishsticks. We had a fish day yesterday with pilchards on toast for lunch and F & C for dinner. Chilli tonight so nice and easy.

Sunny here and 8 degrees at the moment. Mel, I try to remember to take my phone if I am out in the garden and also when I go out walking. Otherwise it is switched on but in the kitchen. sometimes I remember to take it upstairs with me and also when I have a shower I try to remember to have it in the bathroom but well away from the water. Living on my own makes me quite aware of possibilities of falls and needing to get help, especially after T's falling. I realise I have a lot less confidence than I used to have but I am sure that is because of staying in with covid restrictions more than anything.
Back from the doctors and she is sending me to dermatology at the hospital for the latest BCC as they are not doing them at the surgery at the moment. so I have to wait for a form to get an appointment.

Morning Anng and all.
Just started to rain a little here and its 9 degrees. Skies grey but its not so windy yet! Lets hope it stays like that as we could do with a calmer day.
I need to clean the chickens out so I hope it dos'nt get windy. I seem to have an egg eater suddenly. Usually by ThursdayI have at least a dozen and a half but I only have 7 this week so no eggs for Em next door. I must let her know so she c an buy some if she needs them.
Hope you can hear a new alarm clock Anng. Must be so frustrating not to be able to hear the phone. Do you carry your mobile with you all the time? Most of the time mine is switched off as I only tend to use it if I go out and the same with oh. He dos'nt take his out mowing anymore since he mowed over one and it went BANG. It was'nt till he came back down the next line he saw it smouldering in the grass.

good morning all 2 degrees here at the moment but still cloudy and grey. Set alarm on my phone to see if I would hear it without aids in but of course I didn't, woke up early anyway. Docs appointment at 0910 so just as well I did wake up. Now have to buy a travel alarm with a loud bell and possibly vibrating. I think I know which one to get. BBL

That as a lovely amount raised for the charity Anng T would be so pl;eased to think he has helped so many people have a lovely time.
Mandy our F & C come in boxes and the chips in a paper bag. Oh's haddock was dreadful tonight it looked all dried up and I shall be complaining next week. The chips were better this week though as last week they were a bit hard.
Mandy its good your seeds are shoowing. Mine are still hiding in the compost apart from the tom plants but the others were old seed so I am not banking on them coming up. I have a mixture of sunflower seeds oh bought me for Christmas I hav'nt sown yet.
