lol Muffy ...

I'm not sure if your daughter sounds like me or you are like my parents were.

I had as a child and often at the same time , 2 g/pigs, 2 tortoise, 2 hamster (that's cos I had a sister) a budgie, a tank full of tropical fish, the odd mice or 10, a cat which turned into 6 cats and 33 kittens and then finally my folks allowed me a dog. That was the better option to the monkey I wanted !

As an adult all at 1 time I had 3 rabbits 11 chickens, 1 chicken who thought she was a rabbit, 1 magpie, a found racing pigeon, a goat, 1 stray dog in a kennel in garden 2 ex racers inside and 14 greyhounds in outside kennels.

Think yourself lucky you have got away lightly !

LOL Uzzi...same on both counts I think...I've always loved animals and my parents brought me up surrounded by them....we had likeminded parents by the sounds of it !

I am lagging behind you !!! Currently I have:
2 dogs, 2 cats, 5 Chickens, 2 (nearly 3) Guinea pigs, 2 Budgies and a Chinchilla (arriving tomorrow).

I'd love a goat and a donkey and a duck pond but I haven't the land...but one day I will have lol xx

Don't get a goat they aren't as easy as people say. Yes they eat everything and everything but they don't know what's bad for them, plus I have never had so many dodgy haircuts as I did owning Gemma. (so don't have long hair around them)

We had six goats at one time, and we found that a female older goat would destroy anything that would be harmful to the younger ones. They are so intelligent and playful, would come for walks with us and play with the dogs. I miss them but in a small garden no hope of having them again.

What I want and have wanted for a long while is a lizard. Unfortuantely the one time I could have had a dragon lizard I was about to move countries. Now because of the mutts (and lack of space) I can't have. Plus the dragons aren't as social as other lizards but one day.

Jean I loved Gemma she was playful and used to knock on the front door and walk in, she would then sit there as if she owned the place and my poor greyhounds didn't know what to do.
I used to put a collar and lead on her and walk her much to the amusment of the village. BUT she was still hard work and she was a social creature so I let her go to somewhere she would be around other goats and horses.

I'm not garden proud (the mole mounds in my garden vouch for that...can't bring myself to do anything about them as eldest watches their noses poke up through the earth from her bedroom window lol)...and I don't really care what they eat in the garden...as long as it's not the Chickens and guineas lol.

Regardless of that my garden is just not big enough...sadly...I'd love a huge garden where I could have a few goats and enclose them when I needed to....but that's for later when i downsize the house and increase the garden xx
