Hi, I'm visiting the Settle / Clitheroe area next week and wondered if anyone had any suggestions of places to go with my family - (children under 13). Thanks

Austwick, near Settle, has a Cuckoo Festival on Bank Holiday Monday. There is a legend that the people of Austwick wanted to be able to hear the cuckoo calling all year, so they built a wall round it, but just as they were putting the last stone in it flew out. Malham is not very far from Settle and they usually have events organised for children. In any case there are some wonderful geological sights there - the Cove, Malham Tarn, Janet's Foss and Gordale Scar.
