Well hey -- now I have something to tell No.1 to go download so we have something to watch during summer rerun season!

Being forewarned, and my second floor (what you call first floor) windowsills being frequented only by squirrels, and only during daylight, I should be safe and secure from all alarm. ;)

Just don't go watching The Birds anytime soon now.

edit -- he's a fast mover, that No.1 I emailed him about it after posting this, and 8 minutes later he reports that 3 episodes are available and he's downloading episode 1 as we speak! So thanks for providing me with some entertainment on a dull holiday weekend. ;)

Hi All

If you want a bit of good tv, then catch Luther - Idris Elba (him of The Wire - another example of tv at its best) - the most disturbing bit of the whole series is the weird relationship between Luther and the strange Ruth Wilson. So well worth a watch - but keep the light on!

You paint a good picture, Suzian - very funny. I haven't been watching 'Luther', but just looked it up in the Radio Times and it certainly looks disturbing. Alison Graham says "If we choose to watch a drama, we are inviting it into our homes, and that sharing of a private space is a privilege (in this case, Suzian's bedroom!) Too often, though, it is abused, and women are left fearful and unsettled by the contents of someones else's imagination and that just isn't right. Going to i-player it now!

It's such a good series though, but that scene was rather disturbing, all credit to the actor who played the part there.

I thought I'd share this with you....

If you've been watching "Luther" you'll know what I mean when I'm talking about the disturbing "licking bit" this week.

Coming home very late from work, I went to bed and watched the episode on Sky Plus (if you haven't watched it, its another serial killer-catching detective show).

Episode over, I turned the light off.

But, there's this funny shape at the bedroom window.

Now, I live in a first floor flat, so, had I been thinking straight, I'd have realised that this would be either (a) Peter Crouch standing on the shoulders of Peter Crouch or (b) a serial killer on a ladder. Not the brightest of moves, as I'd be able to get rid of him just by opening the window.

But - brains out when fear sets in.

So, grabbing the nearest "weapon" to hand (ie the remote control) I rolled out of bed and crawled (I kid you not) on all fours to the window.

Springing (I'd like to think) panther-like, I opened the vertical blinds with one hand, and, brandishing the fearsome remote control in the other, I made what I'd like to tthink were terrifying noises.

I'm not sure yet who was the more terrified - me or the seagull on the windowsill.

Memo to self - stick with Question Time at night.
