Some nice dresses in M&S and Debenhams, but whether they look good or fit...thats another matter lol

My main gripe is that the sizes are inconsistent, even similar items in the same store. I find t-shirts too skimpy on the shoulders, so have to go up at least one size. Have also noticed that legs and arms seem to have got narrower - I think I have normal sized arms for my dress size, yet many tops are tight. And trousers - well they seem to be made for large-tummed ladies with matchstick legs!

just got an invite to a wedding in July.

Oh well I have a few weeks to grrrr my way round the shops. By then they will have the winter stock in and no summer clothes lol

I agree with libby about the t shirts as well.

I think we are turning into grumpy young(not old) women:)

Well i'm on for another moan.
After looking for trousers/suit. I decided I might look for a dress for GDaughters Christening. Thought I found one I might go and try on and its linen grrrrr.
Oh well, I'll keep looking.

And why are t shirts so short and skimpy?

I have to buy them at least two or three sizes bigger than my usual size - don't like to show my lumps and bumps. lol

My Oh is the same..even with shoes. I take weeks lol

Men dont seem to have a problem whatever shape or size they are.
OH just nips in and nips out and has no probs at all really.

I was in M&S the other day, tried on 14 pr of trousers did I get any? NO.
The assistant told me medium is meant to be about a 29leg. Long is 30/31. Medium was up my ankes and long trailed on the floor.

Think the answer is to buy things and alter them to fit.
I remember buying a size 14 skirt back in the early 80s when I was 9.5 stone.

Im now 1.5 stone heavier and can still get into 14 skirts and trousers depending on where I buy them.

Sizes have got bigger in the high street compared to years ago.

I still have the 1980s skirt and cant get it over my bum and thighs. which is a shame. lol

My bug bear, and yes, I have mentioned it on here before, is the poor cut of ladies trousers. There is enough fabric in the top back leg/bum area, I could make meself another pair. Just because you may have a large bum/stomach, does not mean you have great big fat thighs.

Wish I was a size 12 and 5 foot 7inches instead of 5 foot 3 and size 14/16 then maybe things would look ok.

Mind you Daughter is thin and tall and things still didnt look right.

Maybe its the cheap inports and material that is used.
I suppose you cant expect good quality for a cheap price.

I'm about a size 13...if they made one that is. I hate buying clothes as it takes ages to get something that fits,that I like

I did get a nice cut linen top from a well know supermarket and worn it yesterday and no sooner had I got it over my head....creases,

Still it didnt make me look like I was 6 months gone ha ha

Probably to cover up the 'spare tyre' that hangs over low cut trousers lol.
I know what you mean though.
I've noticed a lot of stuff in linen.... too much like hard work to iron for me.

Maternity wear?
Trailing round the shops with friend and daughter( both slim) and everything they put on made them look pregnant.

Dresses and tops all flaring from the bust line leaving skinny legs poking out of the end of the fabric.

Looks like a cross between mothercare and hippy flower power 70s fashion.

Where are the nice summer clothes which make us ladies look normal size?

Whats up with the fashion industry trying to make everyone look 2 sizes bigger?

Will have to stick with the stuff ive got because there is nothing to buy and as for leggings and jeggings is somebody having a laugh.

Im not thin size 14/16 but pleeese where can I find somthing nice.
