Ive been told they are difficult to grow so I'm happy Ive got seedlings

I've grown them and they werent too bad as long as you didnt mind them not being straight.

Morning Puss, we have grown parsnips for donkey's years on the allotment. Never had any problem. Just planted the seeds and let them get on with it. It is the same as Jane says, they may come abit bent, because as like carrotts, if the tap root when growing down hits a little stone for instance, they will either bend of grow forked.
The method described by HRH, is more for exhibitions. When we used to have Horticultural Shows around here, people always grew them this way, to get the perfect, long and straight parsnip. They also used this method with leeks for the same reason. Nature is wonderful, just leave it to get on with things.

I remeber when i planted some seeds in unprepaired ground once i had one huge one but i ruined by not cooking it properly lurve them roasted in honey and nearly burnt my mum does them perfect x

wend they kind of didnt grow anymore but my peas are sprouting xx

Hi rita they are for friends and family providing they dont go pear shaped like me cabbages something else is munching on them too xxx
