If not, give it to the slugs n snails in your garden - they'll enjoy it! That's what I do with old lager - not 30 yrs old though!

Thanks all, OH was given it by son 30yrs ago, and never got round to drinking it, not being a consumer of alcohol due to allergic reactions. Have moved it round with us several times since.

I am a professional brewer with nearly 50 years experience.

It will be quite safe to drink (nothing harmful lives in beer) but, unlike wine, it will not have improved with age. I suspect it will be cloudy and will probably taste of old leather.

Where did you find it?
Could be dangerous!
Friend & I were decorating a kitchen once, (many moons ago), when I realised a board was in front of an old fireplace. I removed the board and found a bottle of parsnip wine!
We drank said bottle, then, still in our deorating gear, went to a posh pub 'on the pull' - I pulled - despite the paint spatterings - but then spent 6 weeks trying to drop him!!!
He may have looked like Donovan - but he was a creep!

I bet it would be awful....

Years ago OH bought some posh Chateau Margeaux wine, bottled in the year we got married, as an anniversary pressie. When we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary we took a bottle to a nice restaurant, paid corkage and then gagged on the taste! We had to ask the nice restaurant owner to pour it down the sink!

Anyone any views on whether a 30yr old Pils lager might be worth anything, or would it be undrinkable?
