http://www.fifa.com/associations/association=can/ranking/gender=m/index.html

(gender=m? I guess our team is all male ...)

Canada: 63rd in 2010. But 5th in North/Central America!

Highest FIFA ranking
40 - December 1996. .
Lowest FIFA Ranking
103 - March 2007.
Best Mover
38 - June 2007
Worst mover
-28 - August 2006
Canada average position from FIFA World Ranking creation is 72

So ... I suggest you put a few currency units on us. If we win, you will be able to buy a new house. ;)

Last cup year, I bought No.1 a couple of Tshirts with the teams of a couple of the underdog African countries. Maybe this year I should get him the home team. Um ... unless that ranking means we're not invited? Apparently we were there in '86 ...

I'm down at the Isle of Wight Festival when the whole thing kicks off.

Apparently there's going to be a field reserved for watching the games on the big screen. That'll give me something to do when the headline act - which is Paul McCartney - warbles his way through Mull of Kintyre.

Maybe the Argentinian (and NUFC) eye candy that is Guitterez will score ......... Maddie - one look at the man will rekindle your interest in the game!

What can I say, Maddie......... descending shorts aren't exactly the point of the game. The idea is to put round things into the back of the netted thing.

And all this with shorts still around the waist.

At this point Sue I am staying positive and will say England. As for the squad not sure.

Well I went through a phase about ten years ago of trying to watch it - to see if any shorts fell down ......when I realised that wasnt going to happen I gave up. lol

Obviously you're not exactly an expert Maddie. Unless I'm missing something.

I've never come across a "scoring goal" before!

Ive never understood footie - still dont - my colleagues love me though cos im happy to work through when the games are on. I only know if there has been a scoring goal when I hear shouts in the streets. 30 people or teams named already - goes over my head.

I've put a couple of quid on Spain at 4:1 and risked a few more on Argentina at 7:1. I reckon the Argentinians are in with a chance.

I meant who do you think would lift the cup, but your questions interesting too, Hayley.

What do you think?
