message envelope may not be working

Right

a white envelope suggests that there is a message in my inbox?
in my inbox, is a blue envelope, which means its new, and unread?

this turns to a greeny colour with the flap open when ive read it?
a curly arrow thingy shows that I have replied to it?

why then does it continue to show a white envelope in the "Messages" box at the top of this page?

This facility, has not been working properly for weeks, and has been posted before, with many agreeing that they are suffering with the same problem.
However, GR do not seem to have done anything about it, despite several requests to do so. This occured, the last time they were doing 'alterations' to the site

Thanks for telling me Puss...........I have had a couple of messages I would otherwise have missed from a newly discovered relative.

Turns out we went to school together and his Mum lived opposite us for years!! LOL
