Dizzi, I love Marmite, have eaten it every day since I gave up my baby bottle 74 yrs ago!. Used to carry my own jar when in barracks because only jam and marmalade were provided, and I take it in to hospital with me along with a couple of Oxo cubes to make a comforting drink.

Thank you, everyone!

This has brought so many memories back:

Banana sandwiches - in brown bread

Condensed milk - we knew it as Fussell's Milk - and sugar

My personal favourite - to this day - is fish finger sandwiches, on white bread, liberally spread with butter

Nothing better when you're feeling seriously down!

Sue x

When expecting my first child I really enjoyed Custard and Tuna sarnies. Didn"t suffer from morning sickness at all but would probably suffer some kind of all day sickness if I ate one now.
YUK!!!

Fried egg, bacon and bovril for breakfast.

My 4 year old likes Nutella with cheese. Has to be Jarlsberg cheese though.

Peanut butter and apricot jam
Peanut butter and honey
Peanut butter and vegemite

Best of all is hot toast buttered with peanut butter and honey. Eat it over a plate because the honey will be runny and drip everywhere. Oh yummmmm!!

Wend

Wend Report 15 May 2010 21:04

Please stop - I'm starving!!!

Egg 'n' anchovy - yummmmmmm!

Hubby did cricket teas to-day and made (amongst other things) tuna 'n' sweetcorn with mayo, which went down a storm.

I remember sugar sarnies and bread 'n' dripping - that ages me and anyone else who's mentioned them - non 'elf 'n' safety, but utterly delishooooos.

Cheese 'n' pineapple - luv-er-ly!
