Well I have actually done it!! Ordered on-line a microfilm from the LDS for viewing at my local FH Centre. It's the BMDs of the town in Poland where my mother and her family lived. They were Roman Catholics and the only downside is that it may be in Latin, Polish or Russian ....... :(( ( Dictionaries to hand, lol)

Well done Sue!

How long will the FH Centre keep them for you - as long as you need?
If it's only a specific amount of time and you find you're going to be pushed, do give me a shout while I'm here and I'll lend a hand - or a pair of eyes, which might be more useful. ;-)

Speak soon,
K x

Thanks Karen.
The film is available for 3 months, and you can extend the loan. You have unlimited access for viewing, when they are open, which is 3 days a week in Bristol.

I used to view films at our local LDS. We had 4 weeks in which to view them. They were open 6 days a week for 2hours each day, but as I am 40 km away I didnt go every day unless I was running out of time. It is so easy to get sidetracked with some of the films, the interesting things in them. I have gone through a lot of census films and parish records. It is possible to get a print of any pages that interest you, or at least it was here. Dont forget to take a pencil, pens are a no-no.
