Hi Helen

Good to see you back. When I had my caesarian I found having a warm bath made the wind pass through. Mind you it didn't arf turn it into a jacuzzi lol

But the relief from the pain was wonderful.

When I had the hysterectomy the nurse gave me a peppermint drink as it was so painful. Unfortunately it took the wrong moment to find it's way out - right in the middle of visiting hour. I was mortified !!! The nurse was sitting beside my bed and we had the curtains closed. All she could do was stifle her giggles as the whole ward went silent. Her face was a picture !!!

You take it easy Helen and enjoy being waited on hand and foot.

When you remember that we used to keep hysterectomy patients in bed for the first week and not let them home for three, you will realise that you do need to take care not to overdo it. Any sign of trouble, get you to a hospital, dont wait. But if you are good and dont overdo things, you will be fine. All the best.

Glad all went well Helen.

Little tip for the wind. Lie on the bed on your back, gentlly draw knees up with feet still on bed and rock knees very gently from side to side.

This can help movement of wind discomfort.

Also try and keep clear of fizzy drinks as they can make wind worse.
