We have a small wormery where I put peelings and manky salad leaves etc. This gives very little compost as it seems to all vanish to liquid, which is a very useful plant feed. I bottle it in old squash bottles and use it like baby bio., perhaps a bit more extravagantly!

any compost will enrich the soil but may not do anything specific for individual plants. In the early days of our new build garden of the 1960.s I worked into the soil loads of bags of peat and later on cocoa shell . its all broken down to give a good quality soil . I still use things like miracle grow from the bottle as soil will use up its nutrients as time goes by

well horse manure is VERY good for the roses BUt you have to make sure it doesnt touch the actual plant cos it will burn it.
Cant stand the smell of it or the clods so i just use Rose fertilzer bought in the bottle
