our library runs some fab courses, and has free ancestry, always worth givign them a ring xxx

That's a good tip Janey :) I think our library (record office) has library access too. I'll have to check what other records it has too. Trouble is they get booked up quite quickly as other library users use the computers too.

That's how I was found by my grx2 grandparents' gr-granddaughter in Worksop!

She had library Ancestry access through a family history group she had joined at the library, looked up the family in the census, and found all my notes about names and so on, and sent me a message.

So while you're enjoying the free access, don't forget to add your own info to the census records (what a woman's birth surname was, what someone's middle name was, anything you like), and include an email address (a nice anonymous on-line one like Gmail) so people can contact you even if you don't have Ancestry access.

A cousin on the other side of the planet may get in touch some day!

Yes I have this at my FHS. As a member I can use
Ancestry through them thank goodness as i spend
a fortune using Scotlands People sometimes. I also
have had a lot of help from people on GR itself.

I had a good morning at our local library free hour on Ancestry with help from an expert. Does anyone else have this cheers.
