I have just told AOL where to stick their service after a very, very intrusive and bullying conversation with a woman (and I use that term loosely) in customer services.

If I miss anything interesting please copy it for me..thanks...lol

Best thing youv'e ever done, i suffered years of bad service from AOL, lost connections hours of being put on hold on their helpline only to be cut off just as you get to speak to someone you can't understand, Grrrrrrrrrr, Went to BT & no probs since.

I am OK apart from bloody fuming!!!! That 'woman' chose the wrong customer to speak to in an attempt to intimidate. Cheeky witch was trying to tell me what impact changing ISP would have on my finances.

I hope what I said burnt her damn ear!

♥ Kitty the Rubbish Cook ♥ Report 13 May 2010 20:33

Beware Sue.................I changed from AOL because of terrible connection problems and ended up being threatened with the baliffs for 6 months unpaid bills to them!

They had "forgotten" to cancel my account, each month preceeding the baliffs threat I had to phone when I received a bill and was always eventually assured that my account was cancelled and that they had made an error.

Each time I sent a recorded delivery letter saying when I had phoned, who I had spoken to and stating that my account must be cancelled as I was unable to log on with them any more!

Eventually I got through to a lovely Irish lady who sorted it out in less than two minutes and I had a letter of apology from her.

When i told em i'm off elswhere they gave me a termination no, that's proof that they have terminated your account, you can still just go directly to their website ( without using their software ) & sign in to get your emails.

Thanks for replies.

I will try to keep my email addys until I have advised everyone of the new one.

Once I am on line with BT I'll both phone and email AOL with the cancellation instructions.

AND.... the 'poor' woman did get her words in, that was just before I GOT MINE IN. It's a good job she wasn't face to face cos she would have ended up with a poke in the eye!
