Well done your daughter, Annie!!

One of the glories of not being able to drive - I was never a taxi service!!!!
Made my daughters want to drive quite important to them!
So far, I've avoided using my nearest daughter as a taxi service - though she has to pick me up when I visit her - she lives in the middle of nowhere!!!

Hi Annie
Well done for your daughter. when we had our grandaughter living with us for a time OH was still a taxi service sometimes when she went out on a Saturday as she would go clubbing and didnt want to drink and drive . She found SHE was being the taxi service for her mates who all got merry and she would drive them home!! They never gave her any contribution to petrol so she got a bit peeved eventually that they were having a merry old time and she wasnt , SO she put her foot down but then meant OH did the ferrying to the club/pub. Drew the line at bringing them home though told em to pay for a taxi!!

Well done to your daughter passing her test.

I had a smile Shirley about your daughter ending up as a taxi service.
My daughter was the youngest of her friends and so when they started driving at 17 she was the last to drive.
Petrol money was always given to the driver or their soft drinks were bought by the others.
I digress. My Daughter was happy with this until the night she drove and those she met up with were all drunk by 7.30 and she was the only sober one.
She got right anoyed by them all saying it was no fun being the only non drinker and failed to see the funny side of anything!!!!
So now if going out when everyone wants a drink they get the bus into town and taxi back which is fair on everyone.
If they have work or uni the next day they tend to opt to drive so it all works out ok in the end.

Hope your grandson has a lovley day at his new school today.
