I always remember the year Maggie T. came to power as it was the year I bought my first house at the age of 32.

I can recall seeing the news of Leo Blair's birth, and I was niggled as that is a name I hoped my son would one day chose if he had a son, and they had pinched it lol He will be 10 this year, I bet his family are wondering where the years have gone too.

Dear Purple

Hello

Yes I was just having a look for May events.

So many have happened:

On 4 May 1979, Margaret Thatcher become the first woman prime minister.

Labour achieved a landslide victory against the conservatives on
2 May 1997.

And on 20 May 2000, little Leo Blair, the 4th child of Tony and Cherie Blair was born. This was a happy piece of news and I remember seeing the pictures on the TV.

Take care, Purple
Very best wishes
xx

Dear All

Hello

Hope you are well.

Yes this month is one where historically many political events have occured.

Sadly, on 12 May 1994, John Smith, the then leader of the Labour party passed away suddenly.

He was an impressive speaker and would certainly have made a good prime minister.

Take care
Very best wishes
xx

in war-torn Britain Neville Chamberlain resigned as Prime Minister. Winston Churchill formed a coalition government saying 'I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat.'

this was in my local newspaper on Monday.
