"Monarch's daughter found on Ouse" is the clue to a place in Great Britain. Any ideas? (And explanations)

River Great Ouse is the 4th largest river in UK. The mouth of it is King's Lynn

Yes, we came up with King's Lynn - but how do we explain the "Lynn"? Wondered if anyone had any other ideas.

Thanks, Mac - but there's more than one river Ouse!

Maybe Lynn is an old word for daughter?

Just googled and Lynn means *pool*

It used to be Bishops lynn but it changed over to Kings Lynn in 16 th century.

King - monarch, Lynn - girl's name. Therefore the girl belonging to the king, as I might be called Harry's Sheila.

There are several Rivers Ouse, one of them does end at Kings Lynn.

Yes, that was our logic. As I said, just wondered if there was a completely different idea.

Thanks for your help - confirmation that our idea was sensible.

The other one we had fun with was "Former glutton lives here!" - see if you come up with the same answer as us!
