Hi
Is there any reason why someone would not be on a cencus , i have found my grandfather in the 1871 , 1891 and 1901 cencus but not in the 1881 cencus , i have found a close match , but it does not ring right.

he may have just been 'missed' but it is possible he is there just very mistranscribed!

Always worth posting the details and see if someone can find him.

I couldn't find one of my families on the census, but with help from some great people on this site, they found them for me. I was looking for the name Innes and it had been mistranscribed as James.
