It's not unusual to have hail in the summer, in fact it's more likely in the summer. Remember the huge hail storm in humberside in the middle of August. It often comes with summer storms.

Now snow is a different thing altogether, although that has been known in the middle of summer too.

I was thinking hail in May must be unusual.

But remember that we had snow lying in late April, in Scotland, when we married in 1981!

Is it down to global warming?
