CarolB

Thank you also-another helpful person!

Julia,I agree, maybe after this we will be a little less "computer illiterate"!

Best wishes, Margot.

I have bookmarked this for later. I am going out for an hour or so, to a food and gift fayre, so hopefully when I get back, I will have a go.
I too wish to thank all those that have helped. It is good when someone bothers to take the time, and have the patience, to steer us less 'computer literate' beings through the hoops.
Have a good, what is left of the Bank Holiday,
and Thanks again

Tony-no,I don't know how to copy and paste, but after your very clear explanation, and a very kind person called Capricorn, who PM'd me,I don't think that I will have any excuse if I can't do it.Thank you,Bob,for your help too.

That's the lovely thing about this site,if you ask for help, kind people will always give you the benefit of their knowledge.I am very grateful.

Now I'm off to have some tea,and to practise my copying and pasting.

Huia-one thing I do know-(I'm doing a little computer class at the moment,to upgrade my computer skills ) to find Accessories, just click on Start, then click on Programmes, bring the mouse over to the right, and another box will come up,you will find Accessories in that box, click on that.
Hopefully that will help.

Thank you Tony,Bob and Capricorn, for your help.

Margot.

Edit: Tony, I will start by practising copying and pasting your message, which has very clear instructions, thank you.

There is also another option, in your printer preferences you will find

print " All?(does what it says, prints everything)

or "selection"? ( prints only the highlighted stuff)

and another is page? select either page/s number/s

that you select or you can print ALL!

Bob

EDITED>>>>>>>>>It MAY depend on your Printer/driver,
mine is EPSON

Margot. Do you know how to copy/paste?

Point your cursor at the beginning of the area you want to copy and print.

Now holding down your "left" mouse button..drag the cursor across the "Text" and it will "Highlight" blue......keep holding left mouse button down, and dragging the mouse pointer across all the text you want to copy.

Once done, release left mouse button, and "Click" on right mouse button on this blue area. ( you will see "Copy" )
"click" on Copy.....and then open your computer Notepad or wordpad. ( normaly found in "Accessories" )

Point cursor at top left of Notepad/Wordpad..and click "right mouse button again....and you will see "paste"

click on 'paste" and it will paste what you copied to the pad.

Then still while in Notepad or wordpad....see "file" and "print" from pad.

Have you got all that?....lol

Tony....:>))

Why does printing a thread from GR waste so much paper??

I have just printed out Muffy's one page thread for a delicious and easy carrot cake, and have found that it took no less than 6 !!
pages-3 pages of thread content, and 3 pages of ads for GR,
which I need like a hole in the head. Why does it take so much paper? Is there an easier way of doing it,using less paper, without the useless ads?

Also,it is possible to print out part of a thread, say a recipe, or whatever? Does anyone know, please?

Edit: My computer skills are very basic-I haven't quite mastered the art of cutting and pasting,as yet....
