Its set in the early 60's young couple both working get married and set up home together, she gets pregnant and he has an accident in work, so they loose their home and move in with his mother, that doesnt go well so they move in to lodgings she has another baby and her landlady dies they get evicted and it just from bad to worse from then in. it was to show the bad housing crisis in Britain at the time, at the end ofthe film it says that 500,000 house were bulit in Germany after the war and just 10,000 in the UK, her OH leaves her and she ends up losing her children really sad. |
