Lol! Still got just over 7 weeks, but need to "speak" to a midwife who may know why the hospital is messing me around ....................................again.

I have to go to hospital on Tuesday, for anaesthetic assessment, prior to my admission.................................really when and why? I can just imagine that it'll be the same as last time, 5 pointless days spent in there for no reason what so ever. I don't have a low lying placenta this time. Sure they are trying to stop me enjoying this pregnancy.

My aunt is a mid wife but she's not abt, not much help I know....sorry.

Can you chat with your GP abt any of this? or maybe the head of the mid wifery team? sorry Jan, dont know what else to suggest...xx

No worry Whirley, appreciate the concern, and thank you for it. I'm going to ring my midwife tomorrow, if she is available, or the anaesthics dept.

Baby is hitting all of her growth targets, not going above or below them, so don't understand whats going on.

When I had my second, I had an extra blood test. I asked why I had it......reason was because I was an older mother.

Well you sound concerned hun, ya mid wife is probably ya best first port of call.........but you need to chat with someone so you can get some answers. Keep us posted and let us know how ya get on. If ya ever wanna PM me, you knw where i am.........xx

It may be to check to see if they are sure its not wind!!!...lol

Marion, *tuts* I was considered old when I had my first, 30, and I will be 38 on Monday, and I'm feeling generous, so I'll give you all the day off!!

Panic's over! Baby is in breech position, and being only 32 weeks it still has time to move, just like my other one did. Its a case of the hospital being very careful and considering what could happen, they are making sure all areas are covered......................................................a tad OTT. Even my midwife can't believe it.

My last was in transverse lie position (feet first) for most of the pregnancy, and an extremely low placenta, she flipped just an hour before her birth. Strange little things babies, have minds of their own even before birth.

How exciting only 7 weeks to go, will be waiting for the wonderful news, so keep us updated

Daughter was 30 when she had her first baby and she thought it very funny when constantly referred to as an older mother. The extra checks nearly drove her nuts, but well worth while.

the whole pregnancy has flown by, so 7 weeks will whoosh by, and before I know it, I'll be holding my (final, yes, final) bundle of Joy.

hi jan i didnt have my first til i was 34 and my second at 36. but be warned my first arrived in less than 3 hrs at 35 weeks. he weighed 6lbs 10 oz, a little short maybe at 47cm but absolutelt great. i went to one class on labour the week before and the midwife said now those of you with 6 weeks or less you should have your bags packed and everything ready as you never know what might happen.of course i did pack my bag but wasnt quite ready in myself. however the class talk was still fresh in my mind so helped a lot.

i was referred to as a mature mum both times. my second birth was only 1 1/2 hours complete, but she arrived exactly on time, no early appearances from my daughter. funny really beacause my son has always been the early riser and my daughter would stay in bed until lunch!!

i hope everything goes well and baby still may turn aound yet. let us know when youve had

Hope ya feel more assured today then Jan and like ya said, little girly still has time to move. Keep us posted:) I shall look forward to cracking open a bottle of bubbly when she's arrived safely:) x

2 of my 3 children were breech births....Now healthy adults.
Nowadays there might have been more intervention, but successful safe natural births are possible.

There are examplesof exercises for turning breeches it is a great site with a wealth of info about how babies lie inutero.
The purpose of the exercises is to lift the babies bottom away from the pelvis so that the heavier head will roll it over just like a freestyle swimmer doing tumble turns in a pool.
This happens later in the day often while you are sleeping

My 3rd baby i carried breech.I had her turned quite a few times and at one time after being turned i had a bath towel wrapped round me and pinned.As soon as that was removed i felt her turn back.She turned into the right positon when i went into labour.My 4th baby i had the placenta at the bottom and had to have a ceasar.My daughter is 20 weeks pregnant now and has to see a consultant on tuesday and we are not sure what for?Hope all goes well for you. annie
