Will any of them go in for the *kill* or will it remain sterile and mainstream like the other two?

I'm guessing it'll be much of a muchness and I'm disappointed...I had hoped they'd take the gloves off and have a real debating ding dongxx

I wonder if it would be possible to find a seat in the audience for Mrs Gillian Duffy, i feel sure she would ask the qestions that we all require answers for.

I suspect the first sentance tonight, in front of the cameras from GB, will be yet another apology to Mrs D. Y'day after his gaff, he apologised on the radio and then went to her house. He emerged saying "we both agreed we'd misunderstood each other (or words to that effect). What was misunderstood exactly?? She asked a legit question on a subject many of us want answers to and he, in return, called her a "bigoted woman". Just prooves to me he is out of touch with the public & that he has a temper that he struggles to control when someone begs to disagree with him. He's a bloody hypocrite and sooner he goes the better imho!!

Shall I be watching, yep!!

Woody's Report 29 Apr 2010 09:34

I don't like the media circus that this election is turning into. I want a party who actually decides to be serious.
They have the potential to make or break our futures, certainly financially, so this is not a joke. I lived through the last Tory government when mortgage rates were 15% and we were taxed at 35%.
The NHS was also worse than it is now - my father in law was not given treatment which would save his life because he was 70 and considered too old!
As for yesterday's faux pas, I think everyone has their private thoughts and he gave vent to his.
The only time politicians actually deign to speak to the electorate is when they are seeking their votes, so I wonder what they actually think of Joe or Joanna Public??
Now we know but I reckon they all consider us idiots as they all try to pull the wool with their "spin".

"all these Eastern Europeans what are flocking in, where are they coming from"

may indeed be a question Mrs Duffy wants to know the answer to....personally i can work that out for myself :)

If Brown can speak unkindly about a lifelong Labour supporter God knows what he thinks about those who don't share his views.
There was a debate on MWright this morning asking " do we have sympathy for him?" .... err no why would we? the only reason he went back to say he was sorry to Mrs. Duffy was to save face,or should I say his insincere mask!!

The debates I watched bits of on BBC world seem unreal, most East Europeans aim for Germany and Scandinavia where the Standard of Living is higher than the UK, but Britain is attractive because of the language. Before I remember it was complaints about all the immigrants from the India, and before that all the Irish coming over.
REGARDLESS HOW YOU VOTE YOU SEEM TO GET THE SAME OLD THING REGARDLESS OF WHICH COUNTRY THE VOTE TAKES PLACE IN.
Well apart from Germany after the first World War and there were other factors in play.
Hope you all enjoy next Thursday

Well said Rita, and it's about time we remembered that we only vote for our own constituency representative, NOT the leaders.

Yes we can listen to the leaders spouting about party politics in general, but we also need to listen to our own candidates on our own LOCAL issues, becuase that is who we actually vote for.

supercrutch Report 30 Apr 2010 15:03

We are off tonight to have a chat with our MP, he knows he'll get our vote but I am interested to hear what he has to say about the massive financial black hole we are looking at.

Had this from George Osborne last weekend via email:

'Next week we will be explaining the clear choice on the economy at this election. People know that Labour have failed and that all they offer is a jobless recovery from a weak government. But we'll also be explaining why a hung parliament would bring economic paralysis that would put the recovery at risk. Only a Conservative majority will bring the leadership that we need to deal with our debts and get the economy working for everyone.'

I didn't actually hear any clear explanation, so that's definitely up for questions tonight.
