I did get it sorted, thank you Janey, and yes, it was my fault. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.

Hope you sort it out. ;)

It's actually a great idea for those who need it, and I've been impressed with how good the narration is - pleasant voices, proper tone of voice for what they're saying. Not like dubbed movies, which can be so weird.

I'd never paid any attention to channel 888 here (the last one in the on-screen list) but I happened to notice it, up above channel 1, one day when it had I Cover The Waterfront on. Oooh, one of my favourite movies. All black and white and shadow and moral ambiguity ... so I put it on, and there was the pleasant narrator telling me what he was doing as he loaded things into his boat on the dark water. I tried, but the experience just wasn't the same. ;)

Thanks Everyone, and yes Janey that could be my fault, was in a tizzy last night because I had discovered that although we bought a new HD Ready Freeview TV, we will have to get a Freeview HD box if we want HD and I was on a bout not being given all the info when they tell us to get HD ready. I got the TV instruction book out and it mentioned for EU countries only, something about hard of hearing, and as OH is profoundly deaf, more than likely I tried it, whatever I had to do, so apologies to OH for saying "Not Me" and I retract the statement in my last post "Not Me", IT WAS ME.

This is in the Granada Region, of course because I have the control, OH thinks I have done something but I haven't and it was alright earlier today.

You're getting narrated version - it's for the visually impaired.

Here we have one channel way up in the digitals that shows an obviously limited selection of programs this way.

Do modern TVs have a setting for this, the way they do for closed captioning (for the deaf), and did you accidentally turn it on? ;)

Can anyone explain why we are getting a running commentary in addition to dialogue on both Holby and The Bill? Very annoying.
