Ok you bird loving lot ...what do you think? UPDAT

.........A blackbird has been building a nest all day in what I think is, a climber that has died off due to severe frost. I think it was a Jasmin.
It grows up a six foot fence and hangs over. The nest is near the top.,pretty exposed.

Two questions.

1 ..Do you think the bird is expecting it to grow and cover the nest?
In saying that I hope it knows better than I do if it's dead or not.

2 How long from when they build the nest till they lay and then fly off?

The plant look really dead with no sign of bud's etc.
I was going to cut it down a bit but wont now.
